Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Episode 27 Recap
> Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Recap
True Lan and his companions, driven by the mission of Su Mo and Bai Ying, pressed forward. Na Sheng sensed something with the Heavenly Ring, guiding them to a stone door. After a brief discussion about the possibility of a trap, True Lan insisted on opening it himself, telling Xi Jing he didn't want to lose anyone else and believing his ancestors within the tomb would protect their descendants.
He then reassured Na Sheng, acknowledging her concern for Bai Ying, and she, in turn, expressed her understanding of his broader responsibilities to the Kongsang people, agreeing they must hurry to save Bai Ying. Together, True Lan and Na Sheng broke through the stone door. Upon entering, they found themselves beneath the Ruo River. Na Sheng marveled at how the water remained above them.
Qing Yuan explained that a barrier was in place, which is why the royal tomb was established beneath the water. Suddenly, a figure darted through the labyrinth. Li Zhu pursued it, prompting True Lan to instruct Qing Yuan to follow her cautiously. Moments later, Na Sheng was abducted. True Lan and Xi Jing, guided by her cries for help, chased after her. Their pursuit led them to the Heavenly King's tomb, where they found Na Sheng unconscious.
True Lan roused her, and she recounted being abducted by someone who tried to snatch her Heavenly Ring. She noted that the ring had shone brightly as she approached the coffin. True Lan instructed Na Sheng to point the ring at the coffin, which activated a mechanism. Upon opening the coffin lid, True Lan was startled to see a perfectly preserved body that bore an exact resemblance to him.
He experienced a series of visions, seeing the Heavenly King and Queen Bai Wei, and heard the Heavenly King's voice advising his descendant that "everything will be reincarnated, just like the mirror's reflection." When Xi Jing peered into the coffin, he saw nothing, and True Lan turned back to find that its contents had vanished. Na Sheng wondered who her abductor was, and Xi Jing speculated that other individuals were in the tomb, also aiming for the Six Directions Seal.
As they prepared to exit, they encountered a Qing Clan tomb keeper attacking Li Zhu and Qing Yuan. Xi Jing quickly intervened and rescued them. The tomb keeper declared that Kongsang had fallen a hundred years ago and they would no longer serve a Crown Prince. He also revealed that the Heavenly King's skeletal remains were never present in the coffin. He then fled. Unexpectedly, Su Mo and Bai Ying appeared, having captured the tomb keeper.
They realized that the Splitting Sword allowed them to part the weak water, saving them from perishing. Just then, Qing Wangchen's face appeared. Su Mo immediately gave chase, but Qing Wangchen managed to escape. In another cave, the group discovered what appeared to be the Six Directions Seal. As True Lan moved to retrieve it, Su Mo observed that Na Sheng's Heavenly Ring showed no reaction and quickly pulled everyone away.
Qing Wangchen then triggered a mechanism, causing the fake seal to explode. Su Mo's swift action saved them, but the blast forced them into another cave, where Qing Wangchen trapped them. Xi Jing believed Qing Wangchen would have left an escape route and asked Li Zhu to use the Perched Star Lamp to open the cave entrance. However, the spell Li Zhu used, which Qing Jun had taught her, failed to work, making her realize she had been deceived.
Su Mo demanded Li Zhu reveal the truth about her allegiance to Qing Jun. Distraught, Li Zhu clutched the Perched Star Lamp. True Lan explained that the lamp, when lit, consumes the life force of its bearer. If Li Zhu continued to hold it, her life would be extinguished. Su Mo put out the lamp, and Li Zhu confessed to making a blood pact with Qing Jun.
She had promised to light the lamp, guide them to the underpass, and eliminate Qing Chen, in exchange for her family's freedom and her return to the Biluo Sea. However, Qing Jun had intended for her to be trapped and die in the tomb. Su Mo vowed to help Li Zhu defeat Qing Jun and reunite her with her family in the Biluo Sea. Li Zhu, deeply thankful, pledged to reform and serve the Sea Emperor.
Meanwhile, Yu Huan was brought before the true King of Jiuyi, Qing Wangchen. Yu Huan explained he had identified Qing Jun as an imposter because of his indifference to the medicine Yu Huan delivered, his lack of familiarity with Jiuyi Mountain, and that Qing Clan soldiers did not truly protect Qing Jun. Qing Wangchen and Yu Huan then strategized to capture True Lan and Su Mo by luring them into the tomb.
Yu Huan suggested that Qing Wangchen use himself as bait, carrying the Six Directions Seal, believing that Su Mo would not harm him if he possessed it. Qing Wangchen also mentioned that the Six Directions Seal was housed in the coffin, which only the Heavenly Ring could open. Elsewhere, Fei Lian attempted to enter Jiuyi Mountain but was blocked by guards. Yan Xi arrived, also presenting a genuine command token, confusing the guards.
Fei Lian and Yan Xi agreed to go their separate ways to avoid complications. Back in the trapped cave, Su Mo's group was facing imminent danger. Fortunately, Tu Luo arrived and opened a passage for them. Seizing the opportunity, Yu Huan deployed a fire formation to attack Su Mo's group and prevent Tu Luo from keeping the passage open. Su Mo confronted Yu Huan with the Splitting Sword, allowing the group to escape.
True Lan asked Tu Luo about the Water Dispelling Pearl. She appeared very weak, having expended much of her life force to save them. Tu Luo confessed her affection for True Lan, though she noted he was gentler than her "old love." She revealed the Water Dispelling Pearl was on her, explaining that she relied on it to absorb weak water and survive in Jiuyi's forests.
She clarified that the Pearl was originally a gift from the Sea Emperor to Queen Bai Wei seven thousand years ago but Tu Luo stole it, not wanting the Sea Emperor and Queen Bai Wei to continue their love. As Tu Luo handed the Water Dispelling Pearl to Su Mo, she began to fade away, making a final request for Su Mo to guide all the Quanxian children from the Misty Forest back to their home in the Biluo Sea. Su Mo entrusted the Water Dispelling Pearl to Na Sheng for safekeeping. Na Sheng then used the Heavenly Ring, which indicated the Six Directions Seal's location was with Qing Wangchen.
