Su Mo reflected on his past, recalling how Ru Yi found him after Zhu Yan left to find her master, Shi Ying. He expressed gratitude that Zhu Yan’s help allowed him to survive and eventually meet Bai Ying. Bai Ying noted that Zhu Yan and Shi Ying were buried together, envying their eternal reunion. Later, Bai Ying and Su Mo arrived at the Tombstone of Prince Bai.

Bai Ying knelt, deeply remorseful for her father's death, blaming herself for falling into a deep sleep a century ago which led to the tragedy. She vowed to ensure the 100,000 Kongsang people in Wuse City would see the sun again, now that Crown Prince Zhen Lan was awake. Su Mo consoled her, explaining that many factors, including Cangliu’s aggression and Prince Qing Chen’s betrayal, contributed to Kongsang’s invasion, and she should not bear all the blame.

He promised they would work together to fulfill her wishes. Suddenly, Yu Huan appeared and attacked Su Mo with a fire formation. Bai Ying confronted Yu Huan, accusing him of using wicked magic and disgracing their Master. Yu Huan retorted, telling her not to mention their Master and warning that anyone who blocked him would die.

Su Mo’s magic power was weakened by the fire formation, and Yu Huan explained that the more Su Mo resisted, the more aggressively the fire would burn. Su Mo threw Bai Ying out of the way. Bai Lin then revealed herself to Bai Ying, stating she would not save Su Mo and wished for his death. She blamed him for the Bai Clan's ruin, Kongsang's downfall, and her transformation into a bird spirit.

Bai Ying realized Bai Lin knew Yu Huan was waiting and questioned her alliance. Bai Lin admitted she had taken refuge with Cangliu, who promised to restore her human form if she helped kill Su Mo. Bai Ying urged her not to trust Cangliu, but Bai Lin, fueled by hatred for Su Mo, rushed in to fight alongside him. Bai Ying, heartbroken by her sister’s actions, joined the fight.

Su Mo's battle with Yu Huan concluded quickly, but Su Mo was severely wounded. Bai Lin helped him, despite her earlier words, and sought out Tu Lou, begging her to save the Emperor of the Sea. Tu Lou agreed, but only in exchange for Bai Ying’s life. Bai Ying accepted the condition. Yu Huan later confronted Bai Lin, chastising her for her inability to kill Su Mo and defying orders to save her sister.

Bai Lin blamed Yu Huan for his own incompetence, but Yu Huan retaliated by reminding her that Bai Ying still prioritized Su Mo over her. This revelation deepened Bai Lin’s resentment towards Su Mo. Overwhelmed by a severe headache, a punishment for her betrayal of Kongsang and inability to enter the Valley of Ancestral Kings, Bai Lin transformed into a bird and fled, leaving a severely injured Yu Huan to fend for himself.

Meanwhile, Qing Yuan met Yan Xi, informing him that Fei Lian and Yu Huan had both gone to Jiuyi Mountain. Yan Xi gave Qing Yuan his command token to use, choosing to remain behind to delay any incoming troops and allow Zhen Lan and his companions to proceed. After being rescued by Tu Lou and cared for by Bai Ying, Su Mo awoke. Bai Ying playfully chided him for throwing her away in dangerous situations.

Tu Lou observed that Bai Ying was different from Bai Wei. She explained that 7,000 years ago, Lang Gan had brought the Quanxian people to Yunhuang and imprisoned them in Jiuyi Mountain to guard Bai Wei’s cenotaph. To survive, they had to drink weak water, which transformed them into their current forms.

Tu Lou recognized Bai Ying’s genuine affection for Su Mo and noted that Su Mo, like her own foolish older brother, was a merman who loved only one person his entire life. She implored Su Mo, as the Emperor of the Sea, to lead the Quanxian people back to the Biluo Sea, pledging their eternal loyalty. Elsewhere, Fei Lian interrogated Madam Tianxiang, demanding to know Yan Xi's whereabouts.

Madam Tianxiang feigned ignorance, claiming not to know Yan Xi or every person who frequented her tavern in Jiuyi Mountain, a place with a mixture of good and bad people. Finding no leads and moved by her pitiful appearance, Fei Lian eventually released her. Bai Ying felt sadness for the plight of the Tu Lou, though she also reminded Su Mo that he had only one Purple-lipped Dendrobium left and should conserve his power.

She promised to protect him and asked him not to use the mirror technique anymore. Su Mo then asked Bai Ying if she would miss him if he left, to which she replied she would always wait for his return. As they continued their journey, Bai Ying used her magic to project a scene from the past: the High Priest and the Six Princes opening Wuse City a century ago to save Kongsang's 100,000 citizens.

Although it was a secret, Su Mo witnessed it, which left Bai Ying with mixed emotions, hoping it wouldn't create a rift between them. Su Mo, accepting his identity as a protector of Wuse City, affirmed his commitment to helping the Kongsang people awaken. They both expressed a desire for a future where they could be free but acknowledged their current paths of protecting their people.

Passing through a stone door, they discovered the Splitting Sword, which Queen Bai Wei had brought back when she was exiled from Quanxian. Su Mo attempted to pull the sword, but its immense power pushed Bai Ying back several steps. Thousands of li away, Zhi Zhe sensed the sword's emergence. The sword’s spiritual energy then struck Bai Ying, and it slipped from Su Mo’s grasp, flying towards Bai Ying’s heart while disembodied voices echoed, demanding her death.

Su Mo quickly re-gripped the sword, suppressing its power. Bai Ying believed the sword reacted to her because she was a Kongsang royal. Su Mo inquired about Queen Bai Wei's death, and Bai Ying explained that she died of spiritual exhaustion in the Stranded Dragon Abyss while sealing the dragon deity with Heavenly King Lang Gan. Yu Huan, still severely injured, continued searching for Su Mo and Bai Ying, believing they must have used a secret passage.

Just then, a messenger from the King of Jiuyi arrived, asking Yu Huan to discuss urgent matters. Meanwhile, Zhen Lan's group encountered a trap in the secret passage, but Qing Yuan arrived in time to disarm the mechanism. Na Sheng expressed her excitement and curiosity about Yan Xi, but Zhen Lan urged her to let Qing Yuan finish his report. Qing Yuan revealed that Yu Huan had already entered Jiuyi Mountain.

Li Zhu, who was guiding them, affirmed their trust, assuring Zhen Lan that she, too, was on their side, recognizing Qing Yuan as one of the six princes who sacrificed themselves for Kongsang.
