Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Episode 11 Recap
> Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Recap
General Yu Huan launched an attack on Taoyuan Province, deploying numerous Wind Falcons that filled the sky, astonishing Ru Yi with the power of his new weapons. Yu Huan’s men were also tasked with searching for Na Sheng. Meanwhile, Su Mo desperately tried to heal Bai Ying, whose five rhythms and six senses had been completely shut off, rendering his efforts fruitless.
He expressed his anguish, recalling his joy at finding her alive and pleading for her not to die again, even admitting his responsibility for her past and current suffering. Zhen Lan arrived, recognizing Bai Ying’s state as Still Meditation, a self-preservation method of the Kongsang Holy Sword Sect, as explained previously by the High Priest. Still Meditation allows one to fall into a deep sleep for recovery, but requires personal willpower to awaken.
Zhen Lan confronted Su Mo, accusing him of causing Bai Ying's deep physical and mental injury, forcing her into this state, just as he had harmed her centuries ago. He lamented his own inability to wake her, noting that only Bai Ying herself could break free from the Still Meditation. On the streets, Na Sheng encountered Yan Xi, but their location was soon discovered by Yu Huan's Wind Falcons. As they fled, explosives were dropped from above, hitting them.
Fearing for Yan Xi’s safety, Na Sheng activated the power of the Heavenly Ring. Su Mo and Zhen Lan sensed this surge of energy. Su Mo, believing the power might aid Bai Ying, attempted to heal her again, but it was still ineffective. Zhen Lan urged him to stop, reiterating that only Bai Ying’s own will could revive her. With no other option, Su Mo placed a Snow Cherry Blossom near Bai Ying.
The scent of the flower, a memory from her past, reached her, startling her inner consciousness and allowing her to awaken. Upon Bai Ying's awakening, Su Mo quickly sealed the secret room again, concerned for her fragile state, as her spiritual consciousness had been burned by sunlight and her body was weak from Still Meditation. Bai Ying grew angry, asserting her duty to her people and her responsibility to rectify past wrongs.
She argued that Su Mo’s protective actions, though well-intentioned, were a burden she didn't need and insisted she owed him nothing from a century ago. Su Mo, however, felt a deep sense of responsibility, believing he was making amends. Eventually, he conceded, opening the room and offering her a precious fairy grass medicine to aid her recovery, which Bai Ying reluctantly accepted before insisting they leave.
Zhen Lan, feeling inadequate for failing to protect Bai Ying, vowed to regain his powers. Elsewhere, Master Peng arrived in Taoyuan Province, ordering his troops to use oil-water to flush out any remaining Kongsang people, with a specific focus on capturing Na Sheng and the Heavenly Ring, after hearing reports of her ring destroying a Wind Falcon. Ru Yi informed Su Mo that most of their merpeople had successfully evacuated Taoyuan Province, but Yan Xi had not returned.
Su Mo reaffirmed his duty as the Emperor of the Sea to protect his people and went to find Yan Xi, leaving Ru Yi to escort the remaining merpeople. Yan Xi, knowing of the Cangliu forces' plan to use oil-water, instructed Na Sheng to head towards Ruyi Gambling House and find Ru Yi, giving her his necklace for protection. He then bravely stayed behind to lure the pursuers away, a sacrifice Na Sheng vowed not to let be in vain.
Meanwhile, Su Mo came across two abandoned children and, after learning they had no names, named them Che and Han. He entrusted them to Ru Yi, who was to take them to the Quanxian's Great Camp of Jing Lake, before he continued his search for Yan Xi. Back with the Cangliu forces, Yu Zhu reported to Lord Zhi Zhe that Master Peng had dispatched Yu Huan to retrieve the Heavenly Ring, with plans to burn Taoyuan Province if necessary.
Zhi Zhe stressed the importance of retrieving the Heavenly Ring, then surprisingly began chanting a Kongsang battle song, which perplexed Yu Zhu. Chaos erupted in Taoyuan Province. As Cangliu soldiers set fires, West Jing and Ting were separated by an explosion. Xiao, piloting a Wind Falcon, witnessed Ting being gravely injured. Recognizing Ting as a fellow merperson, Xiao leaped from the aircraft to aid him.
Yu Huan spotted West Jing, recognizing him as a disciple of the Holy Sword Sect and his Senior Brother. Yu Huan, driven by their opposing allegiances, challenged West Jing, but was ultimately outmatched. As West Jing prepared to strike a final blow, Xiao intervened, saving Yu Huan. Yu Huan, with reinforcements of Wind Falcons arriving, warned West Jing and Xiao of their impending doom.
However, Su Mo swiftly arrived, using his formidable powers to seize control of the Wind Falcons and destroy them, leaving Yu Huan stunned before he made a hasty retreat. Ting remained unconscious after the battle. Su Mo, realizing the Cangliu forces would likely regroup, decided they must flee Taoyuan Province immediately. Na Sheng, anxious for Yan Xi, found him amidst the rubble. She tearfully confessed her feelings for him, urging him to awaken.
Su Mo arrived and reassured her that Yan Xi was alive, explaining that merpeople's hearts are located in their middle for balance, protecting them from injuries that would be fatal to others. With Cangliu troops returning, Su Mo instructed Na Sheng and everyone else to board a carriage, while he stayed behind to distract the soldiers. At the city gate, guards were stationed, making escape difficult.
Bai Ying, in the carriage, told Ru Yi to charge through the gate, declaring she would confront the guards herself. As they prepared for a desperate fight, Governor Gao Shunzhao arrived. He spoke with Ru Yi, lamenting the devastation of Taoyuan Province and telling her not to return.
Then, against military orders to keep the city gates shut, Governor Gao commanded his guards to open them, asserting that no more innocent civilians should suffer for the Cangliu troops’ ambition, allowing the carriage to pass through to safety.
