He explained that he lost control because he realized Ning Meng subconsciously continued to think of Lu Jiming even when they were together.
He knew she tried to distance herself from Lu Jiming, but the more she tried, the more Su Weiran’s hatred for Lu Jiming grew. He expressed deep regret, stating that hitting Ning Meng that day was the worst thing he had ever done. The excitement didn't end there; Zeng Yuhang announced that he and Xu Sitian had gotten married the day before, showing off their marriage certificate and promising a wedding banquet on an auspicious date.
He also jokingly asked Lu Jiming about his "marriage money" investment, to which Lu Jiming assured him it was enough to raise a child. Just as the atmosphere seemed perfectly set for Lu Jiming to make his move, Shi Ying revealed her own "four-happiness": she was expanding her business to Singapore, leaving Shanghai operations to Lu Jiming, and shared that she, Jason, and their child would be relocating there.
Each piece of good news, while happy for others, left Lu Jiming visibly frustrated as his own opportunities to confess were repeatedly and comically thwarted.
