Following his successful meeting with Liang Chen's parents, Lu Jing is in the middle of a livestream when Liang Chen unexpectedly calls in, startling him. She playfully questions why he hadn't replied to her messages, while his viewers buzz with excitement. Asserting his affection, Lu Jing tells Liang Chen she'd miss his presence if he wasn't there to tuck her in at night, then abruptly signs off to take care of her.
Later, Liang Chen's friend Ma Shan Shan visits, noticing a burning smell from a cooking mishap. She reveals a more serious matter: a song Liang Chen wrote is identical to a hit released three months later by a singer named Lin Qi, presenting evidence of what she calls blatant plagiarism. Ma Shan Shan urges Liang Chen to move past this painful incident and focus on her future.
Overwhelmed by her poor cooking skills, Liang Chen asks Lu Jing to teach her. Shortly after, Lu Jing's grandmother arrives with an array of health supplements, including Loquat tea and Donkey-hide gelatin, all intended for her "grandson's wife," openly expressing her desire for Liang Chen to join their family. For her final competition, Liang Chen lets Lu Jing choose her song. He suggests "You Have Me," a choice that surprises others for its simplicity.
Liang Chen, however, insists the song holds a special significance for her. Lu Jing and his father, Mr. Lu, attend the competition. On stage, Liang Chen dedicates the song to the most special person in her life, stating she sang it simply because Lu Jing loves it, and secures second place. Afterward, she rushes to Lu Jing, hugging him and declaring her love. In her excitement, she kisses him, only to realize Mr. Lu is standing right there.
Flustered, Liang Chen introduces herself. Mr. Lu, in good spirits, playfully teases her, asking why she was calling him 'Uncle' when her on-stage declaration had practically been an admission of her role as a daughter-in-law. He then proudly takes photos of the couple to send to Lu Jing's mother.
During their ride home, Liang Chen confesses her anxiety about his esteemed, academic family disapproving of their relationship, comically fearing they might offer her money or challenge her with advanced math problems to make her leave. Lu Jing reassures her that her beauty and talent have already won his parents over, humorously adding that he would help her cheat on any math test.
To celebrate, Lu Jing buys several cakes, including one symbolizing "first place," praising her second-place finish as a huge achievement against veteran singers. He then proudly shows her his own first-place award from an international big data competition and transfers all his prize money to her, stating that all his income must be given to her. In return, Liang Chen playfully gives him some pocket money, promising an increase for good behavior.
Sometime later, Liang Chen returns from an overseas trip, eagerly looking for Lu Jing at the airport despite having told him not to come. She spots him and runs for a hug, only to discover he is there with his father to pick up his mother. Mr. Lu sends the young couple home, assuring them there will be plenty of opportunities for the families to meet. Later, both families share a harmonious meal. Lu Jing observes the scene and playfully remarks that the current balance would soon shift to all six parents united against him and Liang Chen.
