> Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Recap

Ding Yunqi had meticulously planned for the impending confrontation, arranging for all his close associates, including the Yu family members, to leave. They were escorted by the Ghoul disciples and the Black Feather Team. Luo Yunsong, observing these departures—Sanxuan leaving with Chu Fengling and He Biao, and the Yu family being sent away—sensed that Ding Yunqi was concealing a deeper intention.

He confronted Ding Yunqi, suspecting he planned to face Zhou Qiuhai alone, even preparing an escape route for Luo Yunsong and Wu Shuang. Luo Yunsong emphatically rejected this idea, reminding Ding Yunqi that Zhou Qiuhai was his father's murderer, a vendetta he intended to settle personally. Ding Yunqi clarified that fighting to the death was a last resort.

Ding Yunqi revealed his strategic plan: he had sent word to Zhou Qiuhai and Her Ladyship that he would open the Kunlun Mountains in three days. This timing was crucial because, after three days, the tide would rise again, submerging Dulong Cave and preventing Her Ladyship's forces from reaching them. This would allow Ding Yunqi and his allies to focus their efforts solely on Zhou Qiuhai.

He admitted that unforeseen circumstances could arise, and in such an event, he had arranged for Yu Shiqi to place a wooden boat at the cave entrance. While his hope was for the three of them to escape together, if the plan went awry, he implored Luo Yunsong to ensure Wu Shuang's safe departure. Luo Yunsong reluctantly agreed. Ding Yunqi, Wu Shuang, and Luo Yunsong proceeded to the headquarters' entrance to set up defensive formations.

Zhou Qiuhai, observing their movements, cunningly decided to let them go first, hoping they would inadvertently clear the numerous traps within the Kunlun Mountains for him. Meanwhile, the Ghoul disciples and the Black Feather Team, escorting the Yu family, were making their way out. However, their journey was abruptly interrupted by an encounter with Her Ladyship's army. Yu Shijiu, sensing trouble, alerted Yu Shiqi to the approaching army, who had arrived earlier than anticipated.

Recognizing the danger to Ding Yunqi, some suggested returning to aid him. Despite Ding Yunqi's earlier instructions for their safety, the Yu family, led by Yu Shiqi, vehemently insisted on returning to protect the headquarters, viewing it as their duty. Unable to dissuade them, the Ghoul disciples and the Black Feather Team were compelled to follow. A brutal battle ensued, with the army's superior firearms quickly overpowering the Yu family and their escorts.

Yu Shiqi, fighting valiantly, was ultimately killed by artillery fire, a moment witnessed in despair by Yu Shijiu. The Black Feather Team was completely wiped out, and in the end, Yu Shijiu was the sole survivor of the Yu family contingent. The sounds of intense gunfire reached both Ding Yunqi and Zhou Qiuhai inside the cave. Zhou Qiuhai, realizing the army's early arrival and fearing they would reach the Kunlun Mountains first, hastily ordered his men to advance.

Ding Yunqi, aware of Zhou Qiuhai's impending arrival and the danger, instructed Wu Shuang to take Luo Yunsong to the cave entrance to set up the Crescent Moon Formation, claiming he could handle the traps inside alone. Luo Yunsong, understanding Ding Yunqi's true intention to protect them, urged Wu Shuang to accompany him, fabricating a need for her assistance with the formation. He then offered Wu Shuang water, secretly laced with knockout drops.

She quickly fell unconscious, and Luo Yunsong used the boat prepared by Yu Shiqi to carry her away, though he remained deeply concerned for Ding Yunqi. Back inside the cave, Ding Yunqi had meticulously laid numerous traps. Zhou Qiuhai's followers triggered these mechanisms, perishing one by one. Only Zhou Qiuhai himself managed to reach the headquarters' main gate, where Ding Yunqi awaited him alone.

Zhou Qiuhai, elated at the prospect of finally accessing the Kunlun Mountains, confronted Ding Yunqi, asking if he was alone. Ding Yunqi defiantly stated he was enough to deal with him. They engaged in a fierce duel, but Ding Yunqi, outmatched by Zhou Qiuhai’s martial prowess, was severely wounded. Zhou Qiuhai demanded that Ding Yunqi open the gate. Ding Yunqi feigned compliance, using the Heaven Official's token to open the grand entrance, much to Zhou Qiuhai's delight.

Inside, Zhou Qiuhai marveled at the Heaven Official's headquarters. Ding Yunqi explained that the headquarters was the ultimate barrier, with the entrance to the Kunlun Mountains hidden behind the memorial tablet of the first Heaven Official. Before revealing the entrance, Ding Yunqi insisted that Zhou Qiuhai first kneel and pay respects to Ding Yuanshan and the ancestors of the Penta-sect, emphasizing that his act of opening the Kunlun Mountains was a voluntary decision, not one compelled by force.

Zhou Qiuhai initially refused, arguing about dignity, but Ding Yunqi stood firm, proclaiming that true dignity was something Zhou Qiuhai would never comprehend. Just then, Her Ladyship's army converged at the cave entrance. With no other option, Zhou Qiuhai grudgingly complied, performing three kowtows before Ding Yuanshan’s tablet, declaring it his final act of worship to a Heaven Official. Upon the completion of Zhou Qiuhai's bows, Ding Yunqi rotated the central memorial tablet, activating a powerful mechanism.

The entire mountain began to shake violently, signaling an imminent collapse. Zhou Qiuhai watched in horror as the cave began to crumble. The remaining soldiers of Her Ladyship's army, who had just entered, were struck down by falling debris, perishing in the collapsing cavern. Meanwhile, in a safe location outside the cave, Wu Shuang awoke, disoriented and questioning her whereabouts. She noticed the rising tide had flooded Dulong Cave and realized she had been tricked.

Frantically, she tried to return for Ding Yunqi, but Luo Yunsong held her back, urging her to understand Ding Yunqi's sacrifices. Wu Shuang, heartbroken and feeling betrayed, cried out that she could not live without Yunqi, but Luo Yunsong reminded her of her promise to Ding Yunqi. The Ding family ancestral temple was completely buried beneath the mountain.

The Shanghai Shen Journal later reported on Her Ladyship's avarice and her failed attempt to claim the Kunlun Mountains, which had now become an impenetrable mystery. The hope was that all greed and bloodshed would be buried with it. Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang, having left the world of intrigue behind, opened the Wu Shuang Clinic, dedicated to saving lives and helping the injured. He Biao and Chu Fengling found happiness living together.

Luo Yunsong and Sun Sanxuan joined the anti-Japanese forces, sending a letter to Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang from the front lines, wishing them well and promising to return after victory. Ultimately, all the protagonists found peace and lived the lives they had long yearned for.
