Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Episode 29 Recap
> Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Recap
Luo Yunsong was relieved to find Luo Jiutian alive, but Jiutian's cold, mocking tone showed a changed man. Luo Yunsong urged his younger brother to abandon his dangerous path and go somewhere safe to live, promising to find him once his own affairs were settled so they could truly be brothers. However, Luo Jiutian refused, stating he had no other life and could only continue as he was.
He even claimed his actions had saved a soul pursuit order, though Luo Yunsong dismissed this, asserting that Chu Fengling and the relic would have been safe regardless. Luo Jiutian then subtly accused Chu Fengling of being an unaware pawn. After Luo Jiutian left, limping, Luo Yunsong sighed, realizing his estranged brother had grown up and now had his own choices, which he could no longer control.
Luo Yunsong then confronted Chu Fengling, sensing she had known Luo Jiutian was alive and withheld information. Chu Fengling, in turn, lashed out, accusing Luo Yunsong of always being righteous while portraying others as flawed, demanding constant explanations and forgiveness. Luo Yunsong insisted his only desire was to protect her, but Chu Fengling asserted her independence, stating she was no longer a child and needed his trust, not his protection.
Luo Yunsong expressed concern for her vulnerability to the world's temptations and desires. Meanwhile, Sun Sanxuan reported to Luo Yunsong from the Mound-digging headquarters. Their initial plan to cause a disturbance and engage the Mound-digging disciples had gone as expected, with their opponents engaging without lethal intent. However, an unknown third party had subtly injured some Mound-digging disciples, escalating their aggression.
Luo Yunsong dismissed the idea of secret allies, revealing a crucial discovery: He Biao found a Tian Long tattoo, not a Mound-digging one, on Yutian's corpse. Luo Yunsong then unveiled his theory: Zhou Qiuhai was Tian Long. He believed Zhou Qiuhai had intentionally allowed their forces to tangle with his disciples while Yutian, disguised as a Tian Long operative, attempted to steal the soul pursuit order. This way, the theft would be attributed to Tian Long, not the Mound-digging sect.
Yutian's subsequent suicide confirmed his ultimate loyalty to Tian Long. Luo Yunsong argued that while it's hard for a weak person to pretend to be a master, it's easy for a master to feign weakness. He connected all of Zhou Qiuhai's suspicious actions since Ding Yunqi began his quest for Kunlun Mountain, concluding they were part of Zhou Qiuhai's grand scheme to acquire the soul pursuit orders.
Luo Yunsong had staged Yutian's survival, confident that Tian Long would appear to retrieve him, thereby exposing Zhou Qiuhai's true identity. Concurrently, in the Mound-digging Region, Ding Yunqi was attempting to connect vines, having estimated the depth of their confinement by dropping stones, hoping to find an escape route. Wu Shuang informed him that Mound-digging disciples were often sent to cut these very vines as punishment.
Shortly after, Wu Shuang, concerned about Lao Beifeng's health, took Ding Yunqi to visit her. Lao Beifeng, seeing them, threw a fruit, which Ding Yunqi countered with "Willow catkins," revealing his identity as Ding Yunqi, son of the former Heaven Official, Ding Yuanshan. Lao Beifeng, the former Sect Leader of the Mountain Moving, bowed to him, acknowledging him as "Heaven Official," though Ding Yunqi insisted he hadn't taken the position. Wu Shuang also paid her respects.
Lao Beifeng, sensing her impending death, expressed joy at seeing Ding Yuanshan's son. Ding Yunqi then conveyed his father's dying wishes: to disband the Penta-sect, freeing its members from its "disgusting rules," and to open Kunlun Mountain to distribute its treasures to the poor, fulfilling the ancestors' vision of "that which belongs to ordinary people should be used for ordinary people." Lao Beifeng approved of these reforms. Ding Yunqi then requested the Mountain-Moving Soul Pursuit Order.
Lao Beifeng retrieved a hairpin from her head, revealing it to be the long-sought relic that Zhou Qiuhai had failed to find despite two decades of searching. Wu Shuang, shocked, asked if Zhou Qiuhai was the "old wretch." Lao Beifeng confirmed, accusing Zhou Qiuhai of imprisoning her for twenty years out of greed for Kunlun Mountain, branding him a "wolf in sheep's clothing" who had deeply deceived her.
Wu Shuang, loyal to her master, vehemently denied these claims, believing it to be a misunderstanding. Ding Yunqi then disclosed that Shou Wujiang had been murdered by Tian Long, as stated in a blood letter. Lao Beifeng reacted with a mournful "Tian Long!" and muttered, "This is my fate," before passing away, leaving Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang with unanswered questions about Tian Long's true identity. The trap set by Luo Yunsong for Tian Long was sprung.
As Luo Yunsong's men confronted Tian Long, vowing revenge for Shou Wujiang's death, Tian Long defiantly boasted of the murder and threatened them all, but declared he had no time for a fight. He threw darts and escaped amidst a volley of gunfire from Luo Yunsong's forces. After Lao Beifeng's death, Ding Yunqi's suspicions solidified into grim certainty.
He realized the Mound-digging underground palace was a meticulously constructed replica of Kunlun Mountain, complete with sound-transmitting devices, confirming Zhou Qiuhai had been secretly monitoring him and Wu Shuang to learn the secrets of opening Kunlun Mountain.
Ding Yunqi understood Zhou Qiuhai's elaborate scheme: to lure him to the Mound-digging Region, use him to acquire the Mountain-Moving Soul Pursuit Order from Lao Beifeng by exploiting the sect's loyalty to the Heaven Official, and then, with both the Mountain-Moving and Heaven Official's Soul Pursuit Orders in hand, to kill him. Recognizing the immediate danger, Ding Yunqi urged Wu Shuang to flee, expressing concern for his brother and Chu Fengling.
A distraught Wu Shuang struggled to accept her master's betrayal. Ding Yunqi handed her both the Heaven Official and Mountain-Moving Soul Pursuit Orders, instructing her to protect herself and the relics, and to disclose their existence to no one, hoping Zhou Qiuhai would show her mercy. Wu Shuang, overwhelmed, promised to comply. Luo Yunsong and his men subsequently raided the Mound-digging headquarters.
Hua Xingchen confronted them, accusing them of earlier disruptions and injured disciples, dismissing their claim of pursuing Tian Long into the compound. Sun Sanxuan attempted to forge an alliance against Tian Long, but Hua Xingchen refused, leading to a fierce skirmish. During the chaos, Luo Yunsong rushed into Zhou Qiuhai's Zen room and found him dead. Moments later, Hua Xingchen discovered Luo Yunsong standing over the body and immediately accused him of murder.
Luo Yunsong denied it, stating Zhou Qiuhai was already dead upon his arrival, but his pleas were ignored. Hua Xingchen rallied more Mound-digging disciples for revenge, forcing Luo Yunsong to order a strategic retreat, emphasizing that his men should not harm any Mound-digging members. As they withdrew, Sun Sanxuan expressed his confusion, unable to reconcile Tian Long's pursuit with Zhou Qiuhai's sudden death. Luo Yunsong, equally bewildered, suspected a deeper conspiracy behind Zhou Qiuhai's demise.
Following Zhou Qiuhai's death, Jiang Daxuewen, the eldest disciple, announced Zhou Qiuhai's last will and testament. The will appointed Wu Shuang as the new Mound-digging Sect Leader, commanding all disciples to obey her, and stipulated a simple funeral with a two-day lying-in-state period before burial. Hua Xingchen was visibly dismayed by the decision, especially since Wu Shuang had married Ding Yunqi, seemingly severing her primary ties to the Mound-digging sect.
Jiang Daxuewen clarified that the will was dated after Wu Shuang's wedding and assured Hua Xingchen of his continued importance under the new leadership. Jiang Daxuewen then departed for the Mound-digging Region to escort Wu Shuang. Upon his arrival, he addressed a bewildered Wu Shuang as the "new Sect Leader," leaving her shocked and questioning her master's fate. Arriving at the headquarters, Wu Shuang, overcome with grief, wept over Zhou Qiuhai's body.
Jiang Daxuewen explained that Zhou Qiuhai had penned the will on her wedding night, as his health was failing. However, Hua Xingchen vehemently interjected, asserting that Luo Yunsong was the murderer, leaving Wu Shuang stunned by the accusation.
