> Lost in The Kunlun Mountains Recap

Sun Sanxuan was training a disciple, instructing him to endure the difficult kung fu training by recounting his own experience of standing on the edge of a vat for two hours; failure meant no dinner. Wu Shuang confirmed her training was similar. Their session was interrupted by distant explosions. Chu Fengling, receiving a call, learned her Black Feather Team had been ambushed by an unknown number of assailants using crossbows, resulting in two injuries before the attackers retreated.

Simultaneously, a Mojin signal flare indicated Sun Sanxuan's men were also under attack. Chu Fengling furiously confronted Wu Shuang, accusing the Fa Qiu sect, led by Wu Shuang's master Zhou Qiuhai, of the sneak attacks. She cited past incidents where Zhou Qiuhai ambushed Mojin disciples, sabotaged her second brother's business which caused his death, and led to her elder brother's dismissal, all before openly provoking them. Chu Fengling emphasized that Zhou Qiuhai's actions always followed his meetings with Wu Shuang.

Wu Shuang vehemently denied involvement, proclaiming her clear conscience and asserting her identity as a Fa Qiu member ready to face any challenge. Sun Sanxuan tried to mediate, assuring his trust in Wu Shuang but acknowledging Zhou Qiuhai's unpredictable nature. Ding Yunqi intervened, stopping the escalating argument. He urged everyone to calm down and consider the attackers' true objective.

Drawing on his military background, Luo Yunsong concluded the attack was a disturbance meant not to delay, but to accelerate their actions, indicating someone was growing impatient. Agreeing with this assessment, Ding Yunqi chastised Chu Fengling for disrupting internal unity and breaking their prior agreement. Luo Yunsong, prioritizing their mission to find the Kunlun Mountains, humbly apologized to Wu Shuang on Chu Fengling's behalf and promised no repeat incidents, temporarily defusing the tension.

Ding Yunqi then announced a new plan: the Black Feather Team would guard the town entrance, Sun Sanxuan's men would defend the northwest mountain foot, and he would enter the Dengkun Pavilion with Wu Shuang the following day, warning against any further infighting. Frustrated by Luo Yunsong's submissive demeanor and feeling Ding Yunqi was biased towards Wu Shuang, Chu Fengling confronted him privately.

She questioned his unusual behavior, particularly his humbling himself to Ding Yunqi, suggesting his true intentions went beyond merely finding the Kunlun Mountains. Luo Yunsong initially brushed her off, but Chu Fengling, distraught, produced a gun and threatened to harm herself if he didn't confide in her. Under duress, Luo Yunsong confessed the painful truth: Ding Yuanshan was their father's killer.

He revealed that their entire quest was part of his mission to uncover the truth, promising that if Ding Yuanshan was indeed responsible, Ding Yunqi would pay for his father's actions. That night, Ding Yunqi discussed the situation with Sun Sanxuan. Ding expressed bewilderment over Zhou Qiuhai’s sudden attack, and Sun concurred, calling Zhou stubborn and cunning while also noting Luo Yunsong’s suspicious depth of knowledge about their group.

Ding instructed Sun to secure the back mountain to prevent any mishaps. Later, Luo Yunsong approached Ding Yunqi, reiterating his request to enter the Dengkun Pavilion, which Ding Yunqi granted. The next day, as they arrived at the Dengkun Pavilion, Wu Shuang wondered why Yanzhi's map hadn't identified it.

Ding Yunqi explained that Yanzhi had only mapped according to the "Book of Ban," and it was Wu Shuang's master who had informed him of the pavilion's true name and its rumored significance as an entrance to the Kunlun Mountains. They found an imposing iron structure whose doors and windows were mere decorations.

Ding Yunqi identified that the wind chimes outside were tuned to the five pitches (Gong, shang, jue, zhi, and yu) and were playing the melody of the "Ode to the Supreme Heaven Official," a foundational song for Heaven officials. Deducing this was the key, they used Wu Shuang's Jingang Rope to strategically silence four specific chimes, triggering the entrance. After they entered, Luo Yunsong was informed and rushed to the site, only to find himself unable to get in.

He promised Chu Fengling he would reveal everything to her after he managed to explore it. Meanwhile, Sun Sanxuan and his men lay in ambush at the mountain foot, preparing for Zhou Qiuhai's arrival. Zhou Qiuhai and his followers were seen approaching the dense forest, with his senior disciple Yutian speculating that Zhou Qiuhai was worried about Wu Shuang due to gunshots from two nights before. They proceeded cautiously, wary of the dangers of dense woodlands.

Inside the Dengkun Pavilion, Ding Yunqi and Wu Shuang entered a chamber filled with an elaborate bridal dowry, a "Ten-mile red dowry." Decorated like a wedding room, the chamber was the ancestral temple of the Mover sect. Ding Yunqi explained that the sect comprised only women who, bound by their rules, were forbidden from marrying and lived as widows; the decor served to fulfill their unfulfilled desires.

Witnessing this, Ding Yunqi reaffirmed his resolve to dismantle the restrictive rules of the Penta-sect, believing everyone deserved the right to love freely. As he contemplated this, Wu Shuang, examining the bridal accoutrements, suddenly let out a scream, startled by a discovery on the nearby bed.
