The next morning, when Zhu Yun woke up, Li Xun was already gone. Ren Di was tidying up the room and told Zhu Yun he had returned to the base. Zhu Yun left in a hurry. Ren Di grumbled that everyone just slept there and left the place a mess. Remembering what Li Xun had told her the night before, Zhu Yun rushed to find him at the base and demanded an explanation. Why had he kept everything from her?

Li Xun had his reasons — if he told her from the start, she might not have been as serious and could have slipped up. Besides, he wanted to make money — just maintaining Ren Di’s band was already costly. Li Xun took Zhu Yun and Gao Jianhong hiking. At the top of the mountain, he revealed the progress of the new project. In fact, Gao Jianhong had known all along.

The website they worked on was just a decoy for Zhang Xiaobei — secretly, Li Xun, Gao Jianhong, and Zhu Yun were developing an app. They had a long talk at the summit. Zhu Yun officially joined their trio and even took photos, secretly snapping selfies with Li Xun. Li Xun submitted the completed project to Blue Crown. It featured information on medications and health knowledge, making it easy for customers to place orders.

Blue Crown was impressed and terminated its collaboration with Zhang Xiaobei. After hearing the news, Zhang Xiaobei rushed to confront Li Xun. Zhu Yun overheard their conversation. Zhang Xiaobei first threatened Li Xun, warning him to hand over the project. She claimed his actions had ruined many graduate students — people like Han Jiakang, for example, who couldn’t graduate. Li Xun replied that the project’s money was nothing to a startup and wouldn’t hurt the foundation.

But continuing would mean Han Jiakang was working for them for free. If she really wanted to buy the project, Li Xun demanded that Zhang Xiaobei give back everything she had taken and promise never to interfere in base affairs again. Enraged, Zhang Xiaobei revealed that she had investigated Li Xun.

She knew he had altered his records to enter the school, came from a poor family, and had committed a major offense in high school that caused him to repeat a year. He had only entered the school due to outstanding grades, and the school approved his base project because he was a top student. If he didn’t cooperate, she would expose everything. Hearing this, Zhu Yun grew worried and went drinking with Ren Di.

After drinking a lot, she revealed Zhang Xiaobei’s name. Ren Di advised her to just back down. But Zhu Yun said she could back down — Li Xun could not. Zhu Yun went to see Zhang Xiaobei and deliberately put on a humble attitude, claiming she had been working on the Blue Crown project and only completed half of it.

She said she saw no future following Li Xun and hoped to use the project in exchange for a job with Zhang Xiaobei. Pleased, Zhang Xiaobei gave her a one-month internship and promised her a key position after getting Blue Crown. Zhang Xiaobei then went to Li Xun and demanded he hand over the project, claiming that Zhu Yun had joined her company and was working on a Blue Crown app.

Upon hearing this, Li Xun rushed to confront Zhu Yun, questioning her motives. Zhu Yun didn’t explain and insisted she had done nothing wrong. Furious, Li Xun tried to kick her out of the base, but Zhu Yun coolly replied that she was already at Han Jiakang’s base. Later, at Ren Di’s place, Li Xun saw that the boy partnered with her took great care of her.

He advised Ren Di to consider being with him, but she said she didn’t feel anything. She believed that real love had to come with sparks. Li Xun asked Ren Di about Zhu Yun’s odd behavior earlier. After finding out, he hurried to see Zhu Yun, but she denied going to Zhang Xiaobei for his sake. As Zhu Yun arrived at Han Jiakang’s place, he warned her to be careful. Zhang Xiaobei had just returned from being scolded. Just then, Zhang Xiaobei walked in and splashed a glass of water in Zhu Yun’s face.
