Because it was the New Year, Zhu Yun, who was on holiday at home, didn’t want to get up at all. Liu Ailin, who had guests to entertain, specially woke her up and even invited Tian Xiuzhu over. While Zhu Yun was eating, she got a call from Zhang Fang—Invincible Warlord’s backend had been hacked. She panicked and called Li Xun, but he told her to enjoy the holiday and not worry.

Zhu Yun couldn’t relax, so she rushed to the company and discovered that Li Xun had even moved a folding bed into the office—he planned to live there. Zhu Yun simply stayed to help Li Xun deal with the backend issues. She said she wasn’t interested in computers at first and only got pushed into it by her mother, but it was Li Xun who made her fall in love with computers.

The type of person she despised the most were petty crooks like Hou Ning, and she didn’t want Li Xun interacting with him. Li Xun then told her about Hou Ning’s story—he had been betrayed by a friend for money and ended up in prison. But he wasn’t a bad person at heart; he just lacked someone willing to lend him a hand. The next morning, Zhu Yun and Li Xun tried cooking together—they were tired of instant noodles.

They looked at a recipe and experimented, but still ended up burning the fish. Li Xun lied and said it tasted good, but when Zhu Yun tried a bite, she almost threw up. In the end, they went back to eating instant noodles. Zhu Yun thought of Hou Ning—he was a computer whiz who could help with the current data problem.

Li Xun agreed to look for him, and when Zhu Yun tried to reach out, Hou Ning replied on her screen with the word "idiot. " When Li Xun walked Zhu Yun out, it had already started snowing heavily. Zhu Yun worried he’d get cold and told him to head back, but Li Xun liked staying by her side.

As snowflakes floated down, Zhu Yun caught them in her hand and watched them melt—but the snow in Li Xun’s hand didn’t melt, just like back in the day, when he was cold and unfeeling. They both recalled their wishes during a snowfall from the past. Li Xun reminded her just to send a message once she got home—but even that one sentence carried unspoken emotions, and they looked at each other with deep understanding.

Li Xun knew Hou Ning was the one who hacked the company website but couldn’t locate him. So, he gave Hou Ning’s photo and details to Dong Siyang, asking him to find him through his social connections. Dong Siyang had once run with rough crowds and had his own ways. Since the company was everything to him, he’d make sure to track Hou Ning down.

Zhu Yun was afraid Dong Siyang might use inappropriate methods, so she rushed to find Li Xun and asked him to stop everything and reach out to Hou Ning directly—they couldn’t just stand by and let something bad happen. But Li Xun was unmoved, which made Zhu Yun so angry that she left and sat at a bus stop.

Li Xun found her, knowing she was upset because of what had happened three years ago—back then, he had used improper methods too, which led to his imprisonment. Just as Li Xun was about to contact Dong Siyang per Zhu Yun’s request, Dong Siyang called to say he had found Hou Ning. Hou Ning had been hiding in a garage. Dong Siyang handed him over to Li Xun, who pretended to push him out the window to scare him.

Zhu Yun, watching from behind the glass, was terrified and started crying, her lips trembling. Li Xun quickly reassured her that Hou Ning was fine—someone was waiting below with a safety net, and he wasn’t hurt at all. Zhu Yun cried. Hou Ning had ended up in jail because no one had pulled him back, and Li Xun had suffered the same fate because she didn’t stop him in time.

She hadn’t understood Li Xun’s true intentions and was the first to leave him. She had never forgiven herself. Seeing Zhu Yun sobbing uncontrollably, Li Xun hugged her tightly to comfort her, hoping she could soon move past the guilt. The next day, Dong Siyang went to the police station and wrote a letter of apology, agreeing that both sides would drop the matter. He even suggested taking Hou Ning under his wing.

But Hou Ning refused to speak, so Dong Siyang kept him locked in a room with good food and drink. When Zhu Yun came to work, she scolded Dong Siyang for illegal detention. Dong Siyang asked her to try persuading Hou Ning.
