Legend of Yun Xi Episode 48 (Ending) Recap
> Legend of Yun Xi Recap
After settling Long Feiye, Han Yunxi left a tender kiss on his forehead, knowing he was the only person she truly cared for. She resolved that he must live, even if it meant her sacrifice. Han Yunxi then went to the imprisoned Gu Qishao, who coldly noted that Gu Beiyue had died, leaving her with nowhere else to turn. She desperately promised him anything if he would save Long Feiye.
Despite his pleas, Han Yunxi declared that if Long Feiye died, she would die with him. She then consumed the Seven-Poison grass, a potion she developed, and collapsed, instructing Gu Qishao to take her heart blood to save Long Feiye after her death. Overcome with anguish, Gu Qishao's own gu poison surged, turning him into a half-poison gu-man and allowing him to break his chains. He cradled Han Yunxi as she expressed her happiness at having met him.
He tearfully lamented that fate had her meet Long Feiye first and asked her to meet and love him first in their next life. Han Yunxi promised to be his maid in her next life to repay his kindness. Just before her last breath, she gave him her bracelet and explained that burning Traceless grass could kill gu-abetted men, urging him to help Long Feiye. With a final whisper, she stabbed herself in the heart and passed away.
In his profound grief, Gu Qishao fulfilled her last wish, extracting her heart blood. Long Feiye soon regained consciousness in the palace and immediately asked for Han Yunxi. Gu Qishao informed him that she had died to save him, recounting how she ingested poison and then stabbed herself to ensure her heart blood could be used. Distraught, Long Feiye demanded to see her body, but Gu Qishao conveyed her last wish not to be seen in death.
He urged Long Feiye to find strength, reminding him that Han Yunxi's sacrifice was for the common people as well, and that he should not let her down. News arrived that Emperor Tianhui's gu-abetted men were attacking the city gates. Long Feiye swiftly formulated a plan to lure the troops into the capital through secret tunnels, setting up a three-sided pincer attack.
Gu Qishao then appeared, providing the Traceless grass and explaining that Han Yunxi had discovered burning it would release a fatal poison for the gu-abetted men. Promising to help to the end, Gu Qishao pledged to handle the enemy's rear forces. At Xuanwu Gate, Long Feiye's forces faced Emperor Tianhui's army. Surprised to see Long Feiye alive, Tianhui proceeded cautiously, anticipating a trap and calling for his rear troops to prepare a counter-encirclement.
However, Long Feiye's strategy, using the Traceless grass, proved devastatingly effective. Tianhui's army suffered immense casualties and was swiftly encircled. Reports poured in that reinforcements had been wiped out. In the chaos, Mu Qingwu avenged his father by killing Eunuch Li, leaving Emperor Tianhui in utter shock as his remaining officials urged him to retreat. As the battle concluded, Gu Qishao collapsed from the effects of his gu poison.
A woman in pink appeared, gave him medicine, and then took the bracelet Han Yunxi had given him. Meanwhile, Long Feiye pursued Emperor Tianhui to a cliff edge, declaring their feud would end. His actions, he proclaimed, were for Han Yunxi. Unrepentant, Tianhui asserted that becoming emperor meant eternal loneliness, defending his actions as necessary for self-preservation. Long Feiye simply stated they were different. Defiant to the last, Emperor Tianhui leaped from the cliff to his death.
Long Feiye then instructed an official to bury him properly. Elsewhere, Princess Changbing helped Chu Qingge escape. They were met by Chu Qingge's brother, Tianyin, who revealed that Emperor Tianhui had detoxified him and disguised him as a gu-abetted man to facilitate their reunion. He gave Chu Qingge a letter from the late emperor. In it, Tianhui confessed his complex love and hate for her, explaining he had sent a gu-abetted troop to drive Beili's forces from Xiqiu.
He instructed her and her brother to return to Xiqiu and live a good life, entrusting Princess Changbing to her care. Reading his final words, Chu Qingge was overcome with regret. Unwilling to take the throne, Long Feiye informed Tang Li of his decision to abdicate, explaining that he had been training him for this moment. Declaring he would observe a year of mourning for Han Yunxi, Long Feiye formally passed the responsibility of governing Qinxi to Tang Li.
Subsequently, a formal proclamation announced Tang Li's ascension. Meanwhile, a grieving Gu Qishao recreated an herb land reminiscent of the one Han Yunxi loved, sprinkling the last of her heart blood there. He spoke to her spirit, assuring her he had fulfilled his promises and vowing to find her lost bracelet. A year later, Emperor Tang Li was ruling Qinxi effectively.
During a court session about a drought, his ministers urged him to expand the imperial harem, as he and Empress Ning Jing were still without an heir. Tang Li firmly rejected them, prioritizing the nation's welfare. Afterwards, he playfully consoled Ning Jing, reassuring her of his devotion and humorously blaming Long Feiye for burdening him with the throne. Later, Long Feiye was at Meihai, reflecting on his memories with Han Yunxi and her joyous plans for their future home. Suddenly, amidst the blossoms, he saw her, vibrant and alive, gathering flowers. Overwhelmed with emotion, Long Feiye rushed towards her, and they embraced tightly, finally reunited.
