Legend of Yun Xi Episode 4 Recap
> Legend of Yun Xi Recap
Following Lord Qishao's scheme, the beautiful Miss Yuze, wearing a mask resembling Han Yunxi, successfully lured Long Feiye into a trap. Back at his own base, a maid confirmed Lord Qishao's suspicions about the blood samples: the Crown Prince and the Grand Marshal were secretly holding a Gu-poisoned individual.
Realizing that the presence of a Gu-poisoned person implies the involvement of the Poison Sect and that Prince Qin had now seized this individual from the Crown Prince, Lord Qishao saw a perfect opportunity. He noted the deep-seated conflict between the Crown Prince, Prince Qin, and the Emperor, and decided to fan the flames to make them destroy each other, preparing to meet with the Crown Prince.
Meanwhile, Long Feiye returned to his mansion, where Han Yunxi was forced to navigate their complex new reality. She confessed that the medicine she first administered only temporarily suppressed the poison, as a proper antidote for such a rare toxin would take time to prepare. Using the pretense of needing to expel the poison with acupuncture, she examined his body for the Wind Tribe mark, only to find his torso covered in numerous scars but no distinguishing sign.
Long Feiye, in turn, questioned her about her own past facial disfigurement, which she explained her father had cured with rare herbs. He dismissed her suggestion to procure more Shenyou Grass, a priceless herb, from Mt. Ducheng. Later, the arrival of a poison doctor startled Yunxi, though she maintained her composure. That night, she prepared a precise detoxifying formula and gave it to Chu Xifeng.
However, Long Feiye ordered him to have the mansion's poison doctors examine the prescription, making Yunxi inwardly question his trust. Long Feiye then instructed Yunxi to sleep on the couch in his room, as they would enter the palace together the next morning. Troubled that Long Feiye might recognize her from their prior encounter, Yunxi considered altering her appearance.
Her anxiety led to a nightmare where the Consort Dowager Yi pursued her and her mother, only for her mother to transform into Long Feiye, who then recognized and threatened to kill her. The next morning, Chu Xifeng reported to Long Feiye that the Minister of Grand Court's family had been murdered, and Long Feiye was the prime suspect after being seen on the roof of the minister's mansion.
General Mu Qingwu had even requested to investigate Prince Qin's residence, but the Emperor had deferred it due to the wedding. Realizing the Crown Prince likely knew he had taken the Gu-poisoned boy, Long Feiye concluded he was being targeted by multiple factions. He ordered Chu Xifeng to monitor Mu Qingwu's investigation and to identify the woman who lured him out on his wedding day.
Consort Dowager Yi, relieved by her son's safe return, warned him to be cautious and avoid giving his enemies any leverage, especially concerning the minister's murder case. At the Grand Marshal's mansion, the Crown Prince learned that his assassins had failed to kill Long Feiye. He grew fearful, as Prince Qin now held leverage over them with the Gu-poisoned boy, and discovery by the Emperor seemed imminent.
The Grand Marshal reassured him, vowing to protect him and help him overcome Prince Qin. Later, Long Feiye and Han Yunxi went to greet the Empress Dowager. She remarked on Yunxi's unexpected beauty, noting her resemblance to Lady Tianxin. When she questioned Long Feiye's absence from the wedding rituals, he explained that he had been lured away, poisoned, and attacked, surviving only thanks to Yunxi's timely medical aid.
The Empress Dowager dismissed Long Feiye to meet the Emperor but kept Yunxi behind. Yunxi admitted she had checked Long Feiye's front and back while treating his wounds but found no Wind Tribe mark, fearing he was too guarded. The Empress Dowager revealed that the imperial document detailing the mark's location had been destroyed in a fire. She gave Yunxi a one-month deadline to search Long Feiye's entire body, implying her mother's fate depended on her success.
In Qinzheng Hall, the Emperor confronted Long Feiye about the minister's murder, noting their long-standing animosity. Long Feiye maintained he was framed but lacked proof. While claiming not to suspect his own brother, the Emperor stressed the need for a swift resolution and told Long Feiye to conduct his own investigation, explicitly stating he need not cooperate with General Mu Qingwu.
After Long Feiye left, however, the Emperor instructed Mu Qingwu to investigate thoroughly, declaring that "a royal shall be punished like a civilian if he commits a crime," revealing his true intent to suppress Prince Qin. While waiting for Long Feiye on a palace bridge, Han Yunxi was accosted by the arrogant Princess Changbing, who demanded she kneel. Upon learning Yunxi was the new Consort Qin, the princess mocked her low status and unconventional wedding.
Yunxi cleverly retorted that her marriage was by imperial decree, implying disrespect to the Emperor. Enraged, Princess Changbing tried to have her slapped. Yunxi skillfully deflected the attack, causing the off-balance princess to fall into the lake. Immediately after, a matron pushed Yunxi towards the water, but Long Feiye arrived just in time to catch her. He sternly forced a humiliated Princess Changbing to address Yunxi as "Aunt" and apologize.
This public confrontation was witnessed by the Emperor, who, already wary of Prince Qin's power, saw it as further proof of his arrogance. He also expressed surprise that the reputedly disfigured Han Yunxi was now a beauty, solidifying his resolve to strip Prince Qin of his military authority. Back at the mansion, Long Feiye told Yunxi to move to Xianyun Pavilion, offering the alternative of sharing his bed.
Yunxi reluctantly chose the former but gave him a specially prepared herbal mixture for his bath to aid his recovery. Suspicious that she was a spy for the Empress Dowager, Long Feiye secretly ordered Chu Xifeng to have the herbs inspected by his doctors. Meanwhile, in her new quarters, Yunxi schemed to find the mark, learning from a maid, Madam Zhao, that Long Feiye bathed at a fixed time every evening.
She planned to use this opportunity to investigate him under the guise of ensuring he used her medicinal herbs. Unbeknownst to them, the Emperor and Empress Dowager discussed a marriage alliance with the neighboring state of Xiqiu. Seeing an opportunity to infiltrate Xiqiu and gain control of its famous warhorses, the Emperor decided against marrying their cunning Princess Chu Qingge to either the naive Crown Prince or the already powerful Prince Qin.
Instead, he declared his intention to marry her himself. Later that evening, Chu Xifeng reported that the imperial and poison doctors had unanimously praised Yunxi's herbal bath formula as a perfect prescription for enhancing vitality. As Long Feiye prepared for his bath, his guards spotted Yunxi sneaking towards the bathing chamber. Chu Xifeng, however, playfully dismissed their concerns, remarking that the Consort merely wished to join her husband and would surely do him no harm.
