Upon learning of Han Yunxi's illness, Long Feiye outwardly remained composed, though internally he was filled with anxiety. He believed there was no future for him and Han Yunxi, and thus felt it best to end their relationship. He expressed to Xifeng that the gu poison was incurable and that he could not guarantee her happiness for the rest of her life, concluding that letting her go was perhaps the best choice.

Meanwhile, Baili Mingxiang, discovering the Poison Master was in Herb-Ghost Valley, decided she must find him before Han Yunxi to develop an antidote and save Long Feiye. She immediately ordered her forces to gather and proceed to Herb-Ghost Valley to capture the Poison Master. Concurrently, Long Feiye's subordinate, Xifeng, met with former troops of Long Tianqing.

These troops, seeking revenge after being placed under Crown Prince Long Tianmo by the Emperor following Long Tianqing's death, pledged their allegiance to Prince Qin. They revealed that Jun Yizheng, the Crown Prince of Beili, was being held captive in the capital. Long Tianqing's other subordinates also informed Long Tianmo of Jun Yizheng's captivity.

Long Feiye, understanding that Beili and Xiqiu were secretly allied despite their mutual distrust, determined that in anticipation of internal conflict in Tianning, he must first appease Beili and then contain Xiqiu to prevent them from exploiting the situation. He tasked Tang Li with rescuing Jun Yizheng, hoping this mission would foster Tang Li's growth and independence. As Jun Yizheng attempted to escape during a temporary retreat of guards, he was intercepted by Long Tianmo.

Jun Yizheng proposed an alliance, offering a "big secret" in exchange for his freedom. Impatient, Long Tianmo immediately killed some of Jun Yizheng's subordinates and threatened to bury the secret with him. Jun Yizheng then revealed that Chu Qingge, Emperor Tianhui's favored consort, was the true culprit behind Long Tianmo's poisoning. Enraged by what he perceived as an attempt to sow discord and firmly believing Chu Qingge had saved his life, Long Tianmo ordered Jun Yizheng's immediate execution.

Just in time, Tang Li, identifying himself as a subordinate of Prince Qin, intervened, saving Jun Yizheng and escorting him to a safe, secluded courtyard. Jun Yizheng expressed his gratitude to Prince Qin's forces but, claiming urgent business, declined further escort back to Beili. Tang Li, ever thoughtful, arranged for a false trail to be laid, suggesting Jun Yizheng stay in the courtyard for a night while it appeared he had returned to Beili.

Once Tang Li left, Jun Yizheng instructed his subordinate to report to Prince Qin that the mission was complete, while he secretly remained behind to continue investigating something. From the rooftop of Jun Yizheng's temporary dwelling, Tang Li overheard Jun Yizheng railing against Gu Qishao, calling him a "son of a servant" and denying his right to bury his mother in the imperial tomb.

This outburst revealed to Tang Li that Gu Qishao was indeed Jun Yizheng's younger brother, the Second Prince of Beili, Jun Yixie. Tang Li later informed Long Feiye that Gu Qishao was a spy sent to Tianning, and his approach to Han Yunxi was merely to gather intelligence about Prince Qin's domain, not out of genuine affection. Meanwhile, Long Tianmo raged over Jun Yizheng's escape.

His subordinate advised against pursuing him to avoid a war with Beili, which could destabilize his improving relationship with Emperor Tianhui. Long Tianmo, still unwilling to let the matter rest, was further advised to be wary of Chu Qingge, especially after Jun Yizheng's accusation.

However, Long Tianmo staunchly defended Chu Qingge, believing her to be "so good to me," particularly after she presented him with rare millennium ginseng for his recovery and promised to speak to Emperor Tianhui on his behalf. Despite his trust, his subordinate warned him that Emperor Tianhui was still in his prime, and the birth of another prince from a favored consort could jeopardize Long Tianmo's position as Crown Prince.

The subordinate also suggested using this opportunity to suppress Prince Qin's influence. Remembering Emperor Tianhui's past attempts to bring down Prince Qin using his own life, Long Tianmo decided he could not afford to wait any longer. In the Herb-Ghost Valley, Han Yunxi awoke to the Poison Master's devoted care, which softened her heart.

The Poison Master, regretting his failure to protect her mother and watch Han Yunxi grow up, offered her a sliver of hope, claiming he had a solution for the gu poison, though not entirely confident. He promised to reveal it once she recovered. Overjoyed, Han Yunxi affectionately called him "Dad," deeply moving the Poison Master, who then vowed to cure Long Feiye for her happiness. He also pondered the secrets hidden within the Poison Scripture.

Later, the Poison Master summoned Gu Beiyue, asking him to promise to care for Han Yunxi after his death. He revealed that while medicines couldn't cure the gu poison, the "heart blood of the descendants of the Poison Sect" was the only true antidote, which required taking his own heart. He asked Gu Beiyue to deliver a message to Long Feiye, inviting him to a meeting at Xuanyuan Temple the following day to discuss the cure.

At the same time, Gu Beiyue informed Long Feiye about the Poison Master's meeting invitation. Concerned for Han Yunxi's safety but needing to meet the Poison Master, Long Feiye decided to go to Xuanyuan Temple alone, instructing Gu Beiyue, Xifeng, Tang Li, and Ning Jing to proceed to Herb-Ghost Valley. Unbeknownst to them, Baili Mingxiang, who had ambushed near the valley, was secretly listening.

Learning that Han Yunxi, as the Poison Master's daughter, shared the unique bloodline, Baili Mingxiang concluded that if the Poison Master were dead, Han Yunxi would be left without access to the specific antidote and would thus die, eliminating her rival. Back at Herb-Ghost Valley, Han Yunxi prepared to gather the Poisonous Zhenboye, as instructed by the Poison Master.

However, Gu Qishao informed her that no such herb grew there, confirming her suspicion that her father had lied and was hiding something. They rushed back to find only a farewell letter from the Poison Master. In the letter, he explained his departure to meet Long Feiye, admitting he lied to distract her and asking for her forgiveness, hoping his actions would atone for his sins. Devastated and believing her father had abandoned her, Han Yunxi collapsed in despair.

Gu Qishao embraced her, comforting her and promising to help find her father. At that moment, Zhuyu arrived with Jun Yizheng and his men, attempting to pull Gu Qishao away from Han Yunxi, reminding him of his mission and the futility of his feelings for her. Jun Yizheng, seizing the opportunity, revealed Han Yunxi's identity as the Poison Master's daughter and Prince Qin's consort.

He then exposed Gu Qishao as a spy sent by Beili, claiming he only approached Han Yunxi to extract information about Prince Qin, not out of genuine affection. Han Yunxi, deeply shocked, demanded the truth from Gu Qishao, who, though pained, confirmed the deception. Jun Yizheng declared his intention to use Han Yunxi to control Prince Qin and further threatened Gu Qishao by mentioning his mother's ashes, which were still held in Beili.

Despite Gu Qishao's desperate attempts to protect Han Yunxi, both were ultimately captured. Meanwhile, Baili Mingxiang arrived at Xuanyuan Temple, having followed the Poison Master. The Poison Master recognized her from when he had cured her of Sha poison in the Sinkhole. Baili Mingxiang identified herself as Long Feiye's younger sister and expressed her concern for him, seeking answers about the "beauty blood" she had cultivated for him.

The Poison Master confirmed her efforts were for Long Feiye but delivered the crushing news that "beauty blood" could not detoxify the gu poison. Heartbroken, Baili Mingxiang questioned if all her suffering had been in vain. Later, Tang Li and Gu Beiyue, en route to Herb-Ghost Valley, encountered Jun Yizheng, who was leaving. Noticing suspicious large chests in his carriage, Tang Li's men forced one open, revealing Han Yunxi and Gu Qishao trapped inside.

Distraught and worried about her father, Han Yunxi immediately asked Gu Beiyue to take her to him, which he agreed to do. Tang Li, angered by Jun Yizheng's deceit and the capture of Han Yunxi, declared a complete break in relations between Beili and Prince Qin's mansion, condemning Jun Yizheng's despicable actions.
