> Legend of Yun Xi Recap

Baili Mingxiang tirelessly searched through various medical and poison scriptures, but found them lacking in depth, especially when compared to the extensive collection at Prince Qin’s Mansion. Her servant reported that Prince Qin, Long Feiye, had been poisoned in the Sinkhole and had not yet recovered, also noting his absence from the mansion. Upon hearing this, Baili Mingxiang immediately prepared to return to Prince Qin’s Mansion.

At the mansion, Tang Li and Ning Jing were caught in a heated debate about whether Long Feiye should allow Han Yunxi to return. Tang Li argued that Han Yunxi should not be blamed for being the Poison Tribe Leader’s daughter, suggesting Long Feiye was unfairly holding it against her. Ning Jing, however, cautioned Tang Li against interfering, highlighting Long Feiye’s heavy burdens and volatile temper. Unbeknownst to them, Baili Mingxiang intently overheard their entire conversation from a hidden spot.

Han Yunxi met with Long Feiye, handing him a letter she had received. She acknowledged the Poison Tribe Leader’s unforgivable actions but pleaded with Long Feiye to spare her father’s life, appealing to his gratitude for her mother, Lady Tianxin, who had saved him and ultimately died in connection with the tribe’s conflict. Long Feiye confirmed he would not kill the Poison Tribe Leader, as he was Han Yunxi's father, but admitted he could not bring himself to forgive him.

The two then quietly parted ways, their unspoken words hanging heavy between them. An unseen faction discussed a failed attempt to ambush Long Feiye and Han Yunxi, concluding that despite them being alone, the presence of numerous hidden guards made an attack too risky and unworthy of sacrificing their lives. They decided to await a more opportune moment, aware that His Majesty’s patience was wearing thin. Meanwhile, Baili Mingxiang confronted Long Feiye, questioning Han Yunxi's loyalty.

Long Feiye dismissed her concerns, stating that his relationship with Han Yunxi was their private matter, and urged Baili Mingxiang to prioritize her health by ceasing her cultivation of beauty blood. He promised to find others to develop an antidote for her. Despite this, Baili Mingxiang adamantly vowed to continue cultivating beauty blood, asserting that Long Feiye’s well-being was paramount to her.

Separately, Zhuyu pressed Gu Qishao to inform the Crown Prince of Beili about the Poison Tribe Leader’s location in Herb-Ghost Valley. Gu Qishao, however, revealed his strategic intention to first earn the Poison Tribe Leader’s trust and master "gu poison" techniques, believing this would provide a significant advantage in future negotiations with Beili. Zhuyu reluctantly conceded to his plan. Gu Qishao observed Han Yunxi and the Poison Tribe Leader toiling through the night in their research.

Concerned for Han Yunxi's health, he insisted they take a break for breakfast. When Han Yunxi resisted, prioritizing her efforts to save Long Feiye, Gu Qishao invoked one of the conditions she owed him, compelling her to eat. He even offered to use another condition if it meant she would rest and eat well, convinced it would expedite her research.

The Poison Tribe Leader, too, urged Han Yunxi to prioritize her health and rest, while Gu Qishao promised to oversee her unfinished experiments. A crucial message arrived, revealing that the alliance between Xiqiu and Beili, combined with Chu Qingge's true motive to assassinate Prince Qin and destabilize Tianning, posed a significant threat to Long Feiye's plans. Long Feiye expressed his desire to keep Han Yunxi out of these dangerous affairs.

Shortly after, Vice General Chu Xifeng, a subordinate of Noble Consort Xiao, presented Long Feiye’s aide with incriminating letters between Chu Qingge and Crown Prince Jun Yizheng of Beili, confirming their conspiracy. Chu Xifeng explained that Noble Consort Xiao sought an alliance with Long Feiye, as Chu Qingge was responsible for the death of her son, the Second Prince.

Long Feiye’s aide, citing the lack of prior connection between Noble Consort Xiao and Prince Qin and the sensitive nature of harem disputes, initially declined direct involvement, though he promised to relay the message. Ultimately, Long Feiye, demonstrating his cautious nature, declined the alliance, leaving Noble Consort Xiao to find other solutions. Han Yunxi awoke from a vivid dream, excitedly telling Gu Qishao that she had discovered the cure for "gu poison" in her dream, even listing specific herbal ingredients.

Gu Qishao, observing her intense dedication, remarked that she seemed to have gone mad with obsession in her relentless work. Meanwhile, the Poison Tribe Leader, still searching for a "Poison Beast" that had escaped, tracked it to a secret chamber. Inside, he discovered a severely wounded and unconscious woman named Yu Ze. Surprised by her survival given her injuries, he was moved by compassion and decided to attempt creating an antidote for her.

Gu Qishao took Han Yunxi to a lake, encouraging her to smile and suggesting that her father would be less worried if she appeared happy. Though Han Yunxi was hesitant about embracing her biological father, Gu Qishao reminded her of their unbreakable blood connection and her father’s evident care for her, noting the love in his eyes. He expressed envy for Han Yunxi having such a caring father and advised her to cherish the bond she possessed.

Han Yunxi thanked him for his guidance and for sheltering her father, confessing that while she understood his words, her heart still ached from remembering the harm her father had inflicted upon others. Unbeknownst to Han Yunxi, Gu Qishao silently questioned whether she would still consider him a friend if she knew he intended to hand her father over to Beili. Later, during dinner, the Poison Tribe Leader prepared a variety of fish dishes for Han Yunxi.

He explained that her mother, Lady Tianxin, had loved fish above all else, and despite his other culinary shortcomings, he could prepare dozens of fish dishes. He offered to cook a different fish dish for Han Yunxi every day if she enjoyed them. Having overheard the truth about Han Yunxi's lineage, Baili Mingxiang’s hatred deepened. She vehemently questioned Han Yunxi’s right to be at Prince Qin’s Mansion, blaming the Poison Tribe Leader for Long Feiye’s suffering and his ruined family.

Ning Jing attempted to defend Han Yunxi, emphasizing her tireless efforts in Herb-Ghost Valley to develop an antidote for Long Feiye. However, Baili Mingxiang, consumed by jealousy, bitterly compared Han Yunxi’s seemingly effortless acceptance by Long Feiye to her own years of agonizing sacrifice, consuming various poisons to cultivate beauty blood, which she felt had only earned her Long Feiye’s guilt, not his affection.

Believing she had become a "nightmare" and a "burden" to them, Baili Mingxiang tearfully pleaded with Ning Jing to ensure Han Yunxi stayed away from Long Feiye. Ning Jing simply reassured her that Han Yunxi had no intention of returning. Under the beautiful full moon in Herb-Ghost Valley, Gu Qishao confided in Han Yunxi about his tragic past.

He recounted how his mother, a humble maid, lived in the most dilapidated room of a grand mansion and was denied proper medical care. Despite his desperate attempts to find medicine, his mother knew her time was short. She urged him to escape the confines of their life and seek a free existence, emphasizing that tears were for the weak. He shared the heartbreaking moment he returned with irises, his mother's favorite flower, only to find her dead.

His father, the Emperor, callously ordered him to the Remorse Palace for merely being in the area. Gu Qishao lamented that his mother, being a maid, was not even afforded a proper burial. He revealed his lifelong vow to strive for position, fame, and dignity to honor her. Han Yunxi, however, offered a new perspective, explaining that irises symbolize "freedom and hope," suggesting his mother may have yearned for liberation from the mansion.

This profound insight helped Gu Qishao find closure, realizing that his efforts to gain status might have been contrary to his mother's true desires, bringing him great emotional relief. Noble Consort Xiao, disguised as a maid, infiltrated Consort Qing’s palace, intending to assassinate her with a knife. She accused Consort Qing of orchestrating the death of her son, the Second Prince.

As guards intervened, Noble Consort Xiao, in a fit of rage, confessed to murdering the Empress, expressing regret for not eliminating Consort Qing in the same brutal manner. Emperor Tianhui arrived just in time to rescue Consort Qing and, furious at Noble Consort Xiao’s confession, immediately ordered her execution by hanging. Noble Consort Xiao, defiant to the end, warned Consort Qing that her own fate would be far worse before she was forcibly removed.

The Emperor then commanded his eunuch, Li Quan, to ensure Noble Consort Xiao took her last breath. Following Noble Consort Xiao's execution, Han Yunxi diligently worked on the antidote and discussed a promising herb with Long Feiye. Their conversation was interrupted by Baili Mingxiang, who, despite Long Feiye's previous admonitions, again attempted to inquire about critical political developments. Long Feiye dismissed her, reassuring her that he would send her the books she desired.

Following this, Long Feiye's aide reported that Noble Consort Xiao had assassinated Consort Qing and was subsequently executed by the Emperor. The aide emphasized Noble Consort Xiao's death as proof of her sincerity, and reiterated that the alliance between Xiqiu and Beili, along with Consort Qing's secret efforts against Long Feiye, were well underway. Separately, Long Tianmo visited the Empress Dowager. He expressed condolences for the recent losses and hinted at reconciling with his father, the Emperor.

The Empress Dowager confirmed that Noble Consort Xiao had poisoned the Empress and acknowledged Long Tianqing's malicious nature, noting their ultimately grim ends. She consoled Long Tianmo, assuring him the Emperor was grieving but would eventually summon him. She then reminded Long Tianmo of his role as Crown Prince, urging him to remain righteous and avoid missteps to inherit the throne. Long Tianmo thanked her and vowed to remember her teachings. Han Yunxi continued her relentless research day and night.

Long Feiye, observing her exhaustion and pale complexion, urged her to rest, emphasizing the importance of her health. Despite his pleas and her own growing fatigue, Han Yunxi insisted on pushing through, even asking Gu Qishao for more herbs. Gu Qishao, noticing she looked unwell, touched her and discovered she was burning with a fever. He tried to make her stop, but she adamantly continued her work, determined to succeed in her efforts to find a cure. Both Gu Qishao and Long Feiye expressed deep concern for her deteriorating condition.
