Han Yunxi's scream drew Long Feiye's attention. Upon their arrival, they found the Poison Beast had shrunk in size and was licking blood from Han Yunxi's wound. Han Yunxi noted the beast seemed harmless to her. When the beast tried to flee, Han Yunxi pursued it, while Long Feiye and Gu Qishao were left to guard the outside.

Catching up, Han Yunxi pleaded with the Poison Beast for its blood, explaining that Long Tianmo, the Crown Prince, was poisoned and many lives depended on its blood for a cure. She offered her own blood in exchange, which the beast had previously shown a liking for. The Poison Beast then feigned a faint, only to escape again, leaving Han Yunxi surprised by its "cowardice."

Meanwhile, Xifeng, acting on Long Feiye's orders, had set up an ambush at the inn where three of Emperor Tianhui's men had just arrived, dispatched to retrieve the Poison Beast. Xifeng revealed that their mission aligned differently with Long Tianqing, the Second Prince's true intentions, warning them that Long Tianqing would likely silence them once they were no longer useful.

One of the men scoffed at the warning, attempting to leave the inn, only to be immediately shot dead by Xifeng's hidden archers. Witnessing this, the remaining two, realizing Long Feiye's true power, agreed to Xifeng's terms. Xifeng assured them of their safety if they stayed in the room until morning, instructing them to then report the full truth to Emperor Tianhui, thereby shifting the blame onto Long Tianqing.

The Poison Beast led Han Yunxi directly to the hideout of the Poison Master, whom she pressed for a cure for the gu-abetted men, revealing that Long Feiye was one of them. The Poison Master initially claimed there was no cure, provoking Long Feiye to burst in, intending to kill him in revenge for his many family members and relatives who had perished due to the Poison Master's creations.

However, Gu Beiyue intervened, shocking everyone by declaring that Han Yunxi was the Poison Master's biological daughter. This revelation explained why the Poison Beast had not harmed Han Yunxi earlier, as only blood from the Poison Master's lineage could control it. Han Yunxi, reeling from the discovery that her own father was the source of Long Feiye's torment, begged Long Feiye for time.

She handed him the Poison Beast's blood, urging him and Gu Beiyue to rush back to the palace to save Long Tianmo. She then asked Gu Qishao to take her and the Poison Master to Herb-Ghost Valley to work on a cure, telling the Poison Master that if he wanted to live, he should come with her.

Meanwhile, Long Tianqing, oblivious to Long Feiye's success, remained puzzled as to why Long Feiye had not yet gone to the Sinkhole, believing his scheme to prevent Long Feiye from obtaining the Poison Beast's blood was working perfectly. He confidently assumed Long Feiye would fail to save Long Tianmo and would face severe consequences, causing trouble for Prince Qin.

Separately, Baili Mingxiang was rescued from her comatose state within the Sinkhole by an attendant after Long Feiye and Han Yunxi broke its mechanisms. Upon waking, she immediately inquired about Long Feiye, only to learn from her attendant that he had already departed to save the Crown Prince. A bitter laugh escaped her lips as she realized, once again, that she was the least important person in his heart, easily left behind for more pressing matters.

On the journey back to Herb-Ghost Valley, Han Yunxi, in tears, vehemently refused to acknowledge the Poison Master as her father. She accused him of cruelty for abandoning her mother and using the Qinxi royals for his gu-abetted men experiments. The Poison Master, whose real name was Bai Yanqing, explained that he was coerced. He recounted the history: the Qinxi Dynasty unified the realm using secret armies of gu-abetted men, created from prisoners whose lifespan was sacrificed for superhuman strength.

After General Long Zhenfei overthrew Qinxi to establish Tianning, Emperor Tianhui, then Long Aotian, tasked Bai Yanqing with creating more gu-abetted men to advance his poison skills. Bai Yanqing claimed he was compelled and initially only agreed on the condition of provided materials and a facility. However, his wife, Lady Tianxin, could not bear to watch him turn "human beings into killing machines."

Despite his pleas to continue his research, she pleaded with him to stop for their future child's sake. When he refused, she left him, telling him she couldn't be with the man he had become. Long Aotian, enraged by Bai Yanqing's attempt to abandon the project, imprisoned him in the dungeon. Consequently, the leaderless Poison Tribe and the Shadow Clan to which Lady Tianxin belonged were nearly annihilated by rival forces.

Bai Yanqing revealed that Gu Beiyue was the sole survivor of the Shadow Clan, the son of Gu Chengze, whom Bai Yanqing had sent to find Lady Tianxin after her departure. Gu Chengze, unable to locate her due to her hidden identity, returned to aid the sect but perished in the ensuing conflict. For years, Gu Beiyue had been searching for his parents.

Four years later, Lady Tianxin, renowned for her mastery of poison, was captured by the Empress and forced to develop gu-abetted men, witnessing the torment of subjects like Long Tianmo, who was used as a test subject. Distraught, she revealed to the Poison Master, who was also imprisoned, that they had a daughter. Overjoyed by this news, he dreamt of a future where their family of three could live in seclusion.

Lady Tianxin then devised an escape plan for all the prisoners, agreeing to split paths with the Poison Master before meeting outside. However, during the escape, Lady Tianxin was discovered by soldiers while trying to save Long Feiye. After her death, which led to the Poison Master's insanity, Emperor Tianhui kept him imprisoned for many years.

Now, filled with profound regret for his past actions that led to the deaths of his wife, clan, and many innocent people, the Poison Master expressed his deep sorrow to Han Yunxi. Han Yunxi, still unforgiving, sternly told him to stop with empty words and instead focus on creating an antidote for the gu-abetted men, urging him to use his poison skills for healing, not harm, especially to save Long Feiye.

Emperor Tianhui, upon learning that Long Tianqing's men had actively obstructed Long Feiye from reaching the Sinkhole, erupted in a fit of rage. Meanwhile, Tang Li and Ning Jing finally reunited with Long Feiye, only to be stunned by the revelation that Han Yunxi was the Poison Master's daughter, making her tied to Long Feiye's family's torment. Long Feiye privately confided in Xifeng that there was no known cure for his gu poison, and his time was running out.

Despite Xifeng's attempts to reassure him that Han Yunxi would find a way, Long Feiye insisted they must accelerate their plans, driven by the vivid memory of the Qinxi massacre and his burning desire for revenge against those responsible. He then left to catch up with Gu Beiyue. Tang Li and Ning Jing continued their petty arguments, much to Xifeng's frustration.

Xifeng, burdened by the secret of Long Feiye's incurable gu poison, chastised them for their immaturity, urging them to act more responsibly and not cause Long Feiye further worry, especially given his critical state. Xifeng specifically warned them to keep the truth about Long Feiye's condition a secret. Long Tianqing, oblivious to Long Feiye's true plan, returned to the palace, eager to revel in Long Tianmo's suffering. He visited his mother, Noble Consort Xiao, who was confined to Jingxin Pavilion.

Overjoyed to see him, Noble Consort Xiao, who had long suffered in the cold palace and had previously conspired to eliminate the Empress, listened as Long Tianqing gleefully informed her that Long Tianmo, the Crown Prince, was poisoned and would likely die by morning, assuring her that Long Feiye's attempts to acquire the antidote had been successfully thwarted.

Mother and son, blinded by their impending perceived triumph, fantasized about a future where Long Tianqing would secure the throne and free his mother. However, their triumphant imaginings were shattered when Long Feiye and Gu Beiyue dramatically arrived at the palace. Long Feiye explained Han Yunxi's absence, stating she was recovering at Herb-Ghost Valley from injuries sustained while securing the Poison Beast.

He then presented the crucial Poison Beast's blood to the Emperor and instructed Gu Beiyue to administer it to Long Tianmo. Emperor Tianhui, while publicly praising Long Feiye's timeliness and resourcefulness, could not hide his underlying displeasure that Long Feiye had managed to return with the "antidote," thwarting Long Tianqing's plot.
