Feeling enraged that Long Feiye did not trust her, Yunxi returned to her quarters. Ouyang Ningjing arrived to comfort her, and Yunxi confided her suspicion that Baili Mingxiang was poisoning Long Feiye. Ningjing was skeptical, citing Baili Mingxiang's father's loyalty and her own affection for Long Feiye. Yunxi explained that Long Feiye had consumed the poison multiple times, leading to residual toxins in his system.

Having already formulated the antidote, Yunxi instructed Ningjing to watch Baili Mingxiang closely to prevent further poisoning, while she herself hastened to Herb-Ghost Valley to gather the ingredients. Upon Yunxi's arrival at Herb-Ghost Valley, Gu Qishao, alerted by the bell, playfully chided her for taking his herbs without asking. Focused on her urgent task, Yunxi quickly collected the necessary ingredients, brushing aside his advances.

When Gu Qishao inquired about the person in danger and questioned how Long Feiye allowed her to leave, Yunxi replied bitterly that her husband was preoccupied with someone else and had neglected her. After gathering her herbs, she hurried back to Prince Qin's Mansion. In the study, Long Feiye, Chu Xifeng, and Tang Li were strategizing to intercept the Poison Master. Tang Li noted that the Emperor had constructed three dungeons to mislead them.

Long Feiye explained that the formidable Shadow Guard Feng would likely escort the real Poison Master and instructed Chu Xifeng to dispatch agile subordinates to the three routes to probe the enemy's defenses. Meanwhile, Baili Mingxiang prepared a dose of her "Beauty Blood" for Long Feiye. Tang Li remarked that the blood was essential to suppress Long Feiye's gu poison during the critical operation.

He then teased Baili Mingxiang about the previous night when Ningjing had apparently drugged and bound her, an incident Baili Mingxiang dismissed as Ningjing's madness from which she easily escaped. Long Feiye then met with Yunxi, who presented him with osmanthus cakes as an apology for their recent disagreement. After having just taken Baili Mingxiang's "Beauty Blood," Long Feiye took the cakes to his room.

Later, Baili Mingxiang noticed the cakes and, claiming they were stale, offered to throw them away. Long Feiye stopped her, insisting he wanted to eat them. Yunxi confided in Ningjing that Long Feiye had eaten only one of the four cakes, explaining she had to divide the antidote to mask its strong herbal taste. Happy that Long Feiye had explained his recent coldness, Yunxi was confident he would eventually eat them all.

In the palace, Consort Qing sensed the heightened security and deduced that the Emperor was moving the Poison Master. To relay this information to Gu Qishao, she feigned an early menstrual cycle and expressed a desire to conceive, persuading the Emperor to summon Yunxi to treat her. Just as the summons arrived at Prince Qin's Mansion, Baili Mingxiang, intending to make her own cakes for Long Feiye, entered the kitchen.

Discovering Yunxi's leftover herbal ingredients, she realized they were for an antidote meant to counteract her "Beauty Blood" and rushed out of the mansion in a panic. Upon Yunxi's arrival at the palace, Consort Qing cunningly presented a list of rare medicinal herbs she claimed were needed, knowing Yunxi's connection to Herb-Ghost Valley would make her an ideal messenger. At the valley, Gu Qishao was delighted to see Yunxi again but quickly sensed the true nature of her visit.

He cautioned her to stay away from palace intrigues, especially involving Consort Qing. After Yunxi departed, Gu Qishao submerged the list in water, revealing a hidden message confirming that the Second Prince was supervising the construction of dungeons, indicating the Poison Master's transfer was imminent. Realizing he lacked time to summon his own forces, Gu Qishao decided to manipulate Crown Prince Long Tianmo. Gu Qishao found the Crown Prince indulging in debauchery at Wanyan House.

He sternly confronted the prince and, to shock him out of his apathy, dramatically demonstrated his likely fate by strangulation should the Second Prince ascend the throne. Terrified, the Crown Prince agreed to cooperate. As planned, he met with the Second Prince, Long Tianqing, who, underestimating his brother, deliberately revealed that the Emperor had ordered him to transfer the Poison Master that very day via one of three decoy dungeons.

Long Tianqing intended for this information to bait the Crown Prince into a foolish action. The Crown Prince recognized the trap, but Gu Qishao persuaded him to act, arguing that seizing the Poison Master would not only expose Long Tianqing's incompetence but could also be blamed on Prince Qin. Gu Qishao guaranteed the operation would be untraceable by using assassins who would be poisoned beforehand. Back at Prince Qin's Mansion, Long Feiye confirmed his arrangements were in place.

An imperial eunuch then arrived, summoning both him and Yunxi to the palace. Long Feiye had anticipated this, knowing the Emperor would want to personally monitor him. Though Tang Li voiced concern over Yunxi's ties to the Empress Dowager, Long Feiye dismissed it and told his team to proceed. In the Imperial Garden, the Emperor and Long Feiye engaged in a game of Go.

Despite the continuous sound of sonorous arrows—a pre-arranged signal—Long Feiye remained calm, dismissing the noises as minor disturbances. A flashback revealed his intricate plan: the three dungeons were decoys, and the real location was the Imperial Palace's ancestral hall, which the Second Prince was "renovating." The Second Prince's carriage would serve as the transport, a fact that could be confirmed by the depth of its wheel prints.

The raids on the fake dungeons were a diversion to make the Emperor and Second Prince lower their guard. Long Feiye had also foreseen being summoned to the palace. He had instructed Tang Li to fire the sonorous arrows once the Second Prince neared the city gate. This would signal General Baili to have a deputy report an urgent matter to the Emperor, creating the distraction Long Feiye needed to slip away and intercept the Poison Master himself.
