Legend of Yun Xi Episode 14 Recap
> Legend of Yun Xi Recap
Long Feiye and Tang Li reminisced about the tragic past when the Tianning Empire used the people of Qinxi for experiments to create gu-abetted individuals. Feeling a deep kinship, they pledged to avenge their fallen kingdom and restore the royal glory of Qinxi. Meanwhile, in Beili, Jun Yizheng was openly discontent. He complained that Gu Qishao had not personally seen him off, having been preoccupied with new information concerning the Poison Tribe.
Jun Yizheng sternly warned that Gu Qishao must inform him immediately once the Poison Tribe's new location was found, lest their good days come to an end. In the palace, Princess Changbing fretted over a red spot that had appeared on her face, fearing it was a rash and worrying it would disfigure her and cause her beloved Qingwu to dislike her.
Simultaneously, Emperor Tianhui, having learned that Noble Consort Xiao had angered him earlier, directed his displeasure towards Chu Qingqiu. However, when Emperor Tianhui visited Qinghui Palace that evening, Chu Qingqiu skillfully navigated the conversation, subtly suggesting the removal of Prince Qin. This move not only avoided the Emperor’s disdain but instead made him feel she deeply understood his intentions.
Unbeknownst to the Emperor, even Noble Consort Xiao's earlier outburst was a calculated move orchestrated by Chu Qingqiu for the palace guards to witness. After the Emperor left, Chu Qingqiu instructed her momo to contact a man from Beili under the guise of going out to pray, specifically to deliver a letter to Gu Qishao. Later, outside a flower shop, Chu Qingqiu’s momo and Bai Su discreetly exchanged letters.
Gu Qishao requested Chu Qingqiu to investigate Emperor Tianhui's plans for relocating the Poison Tribe. In return, Chu Qingqiu inquired whether there were any influential figures within the palace she could leverage, explaining her ultimate goal for Xiqiu to benefit from the ongoing conflicts between other powers. Both parties were wary of each other, yet recognized their mutual reliance to achieve their respective goals.
At the Prince Qin Mansion, Consort Dowager Yi seized the opportunity of Long Feiye’s absence to confront Princess Consort Qin. The Consort Dowager harshly criticized Han Yunxi for her actions, including her imprisonment and involvement in a murder case, claiming Yunxi was bringing shame to the entire Prince Qin Mansion and was a "hoodoo" who had caused misfortune to everyone around her.
Yunxi retorted with sarcasm, suggesting she could profit by intentionally bringing bad luck to others if she truly possessed such powers. Enraged, Consort Dowager Yi ordered Yunxi to be confined to the woodshed without food for several days as punishment. Despite her predicament, Yunxi remained calm, anticipating that Princess Changbing would soon seek her out for a cure. Just as Yunxi predicted, Princess Changbing arrived at the Prince Qin Mansion, her face visibly worsening from the mysterious rash.
She desperately sought Princess Consort Qin's help. Yunxi, ever the strategist, decided to make the arrogant princess suffer a little longer. She feigned indifference, insisting she needed to eat her fill before attending to any "distinguished guests." After leisurely enjoying her meal, Yunxi finally proceeded to the main hall, where Empress Dowager and Princess Changbing were impatiently waiting. Consort Dowager Yi, under pressure from the Empress Dowager, reluctantly allowed Yunxi to emerge.
Yunxi then claimed she was too weak to enter the palace, citing the cold water Princess Changbing had doused her with in prison had caused a chronic illness. However, with Empress Dowager and Princess Changbing persistently pleading with Consort Dowager Yi, and with the added pressure of Imperial Doctor Gu Beiyue being available in the palace, Consort Dowager Yi finally consented, and Yunxi set off for the palace. En route, Princess Changbing’s facial itch became unbearable.
She abruptly stopped her palanquin and rushed to Yunxi’s, tearing off her veil to reveal her afflicted face and demanding immediate treatment. Passersby also noticed Changbing's affliction and gossiped. Yunxi, however, deliberately feigned extreme weakness, claiming dizziness and warning the princess to keep her distance lest she cough blood onto her. Changbing, enraged by Yunxi’s feigned helplessness, demanded she rise and cure her. Yunxi then dramatically fainted.
Upon their arrival at the palace, Imperial Doctor Gu Beiyue informed Empress Dowager that Princess Consort Qin was suffering from a severe cold, and waking her to treat the princess could endanger her life. He advised three days of rest for Yunxi, a suggestion Empress Dowager accepted, arranging for Yunxi to stay in a side palace. Privately, Gu Beiyue assured Yunxi that she only needed tonics, and Yunxi confided her intent to make the "cantankerous" princess suffer a little longer.
When Yunxi finally began the treatment, she cleverly urged Empress Dowager to leave, claiming Princess Changbing’s poisoned face had become contagious. Empress Dowager, startled, immediately ordered Wangyou Palace to be sealed off and left Yunxi to attend to Changbing. Yunxi then informed Changbing that while the poison could be cured with ointments and an antidote, a Thousand Years Blood Jade was essential for massaging the face to ensure a swift recovery.
Changbing confirmed that Empress Dowager possessed such a jade, gifted by the Emperor’s new consort, Qing Fei, and that Lvluo knew how to retrieve it. Yunxi feigned doubt, suggesting Empress Dowager might not part with it easily. Changbing, desperate, insisted she would take full responsibility if anything went wrong. Yunxi then subtly bribed a palace maid with silver to gain access to Empress Dowager's chambers.
Her true intention was to search for other clues within the palace, seizing this rare opportunity. She was browsing through bamboo scrolls when Empress Dowager returned. Confronted, Yunxi feigned innocence, claiming Princess Changbing had sent her to borrow the blood jade, knowing Empress Dowager’s deep affection for her granddaughter. Despite Yunxi’s clever excuses, Empress Dowager, aware of the bribe, ordered the maid's hands to be severed for her transgression.
Later, Empress Dowager visited Princess Changbing, who expressed relief and claimed to feel much better thanks to the Thousand Years Blood Jade. Yunxi confirmed that Changbing’s "poison tinea," likely contracted from the filthy prison, was indeed curable thanks to the jade. She then presented a prescription. Imperial Doctor Gu Beiyue, examining it, stated that while most ingredients were available in the palace, one crucial component, the ten-node cicada slough, was missing.
He explained its extreme rarity, noting that only two existed: one held by Beili's Empress and the other bestowed by the late emperor to Consort Dowager Yi. Gu Beiyue stressed that it was a "king medicine," a major ingredient, without which the medicine would be ineffective. He suggested Empress Dowager herself accompany him to the Prince Qin Mansion to request the rare medicine, as Consort Dowager Yi would likely refuse him alone.
Yunxi, feigning the need to remain by Changbing's side due to the risk of relapse, further pushed Empress Dowager to make the humiliating journey. Reluctantly, Empress Dowager agreed, walking into Yunxi’s carefully laid trap. Yunxi silently noted this as a "great filial gift" to her mother-in-law, a chance for Consort Dowager Yi to finally exact revenge for years of grievances. At the Prince Qin Mansion, Empress Dowager humbly requested the ten-node cicada slough from Consort Dowager Yi.
Consort Dowager Yi, feigning ignorance, expressed shock that Changbing's visit was for medical treatment, not just a casual visit, and questioned Yunxi's medical skills, reminding Empress Dowager of Yunxi's past reputation as "trash" and her recent imprisonment. Empress Dowager defended Yunxi, mentioning the "misunderstanding" surrounding the Young General's case and appealing to Consort Dowager Yi’s maternal instincts, reminding her that Changbing, having lost her mother young, needed her support.
Empress Dowager even apologized for Changbing's spoiled nature, acknowledging Consort Dowager Yi’s role in it. The scene concluded with Empress Dowager’s abject apologies, finally allowing Consort Dowager Yi to revel in her long-awaited moment of triumph.
