Legend of Yun Xi Episode 10 Recap
> Legend of Yun Xi Recap
Consort Qing gracefully informed the Emperor that dancing for prayer was a tradition in Xiqiu. She expressed her desire to pray for his long and healthy life, as he had just recovered from an illness. The Emperor, pleased by her gesture, asked her to perform the dance for him again that night in her palace, hinting at his favor. This interaction subtly underscored Consort Qing's efforts to secure her standing in the imperial harem.
At the Court of Judicial Review, Han Yunxi cleverly exposed the false testimonies of Coroner Xia and Imperial Doctor Lin regarding the death of Mrs. Chen's mother-in-law. Yunxi highlighted that while the prescription from Taihe Hospital contained "kuigeng", the dosage given would not have caused immediate death. She argued that the victim's swift demise implied a more potent poison or a different method of administration. Han Yunxi's sharp questioning prompted Minister Beigong to summon Mrs. Chen.
Mrs. Chen, who had nearly been assassinated while fleeing, was saved by Chu Xifeng and brought to the court. Under interrogation, she confessed that someone had given her five hundred taels to frame Taihe Hospital and had also provided a separate, lethal decoction to administer to her mother-in-law. With this crucial testimony, Taihe Hospital was acquitted of all charges. Long Feiye, asserting his influence, quickly led Han Yunxi away.
In their carriage, he speculated that a powerful figure, one capable of controlling the Court of Judicial Review and unafraid of Prince Qin's Mansion, was behind the plot. Han Yunxi tentatively suggested the Empress Dowager, but Long Feiye dismissed the idea. As the carriage jolted, Han Yunxi accidentally bumped into Long Feiye, aggravating his unhealed wound.
Despite his own discomfort, he presented her with a rare White Jade Ointment, a gift he had specifically requested from the Emperor to help treat her own injuries. Meanwhile, the Empress Dowager, displeased with Minister Beigong's handling of the case, revealed she had merely sought to "warn" Han Yunxi and keep her "on a tight leash," lest she become arrogant after marrying Prince Qin.
Later that night, Han Yunxi, troubled by the Empress Dowager's escalating pressure and her own growing feelings for Long Feiye, unknowingly fell asleep in a pavilion. Tang Li, seeking revenge for the laxative powder Han Yunxi had given Ningjing, approached with a basin of water. However, Long Feiye intervened, protecting the sleeping Han Yunxi by using his internal energy to make Tang Li splash himself instead.
Startled awake by the commotion, Han Yunxi was terrified by Tang Li's drenched appearance, mistaking him for a water ghost. Upon seeing Long Feiye, she ran and leaped into his arms, refusing to let go until she recognized Tang Li's voice. A disgruntled Tang Li departed, annoyed by Long Feiye's protectiveness. Long Feiye then led Han Yunxi to a bath, instructing her to help him undress.
Though she was meant to be looking for a specific mark, she was overcome with shyness after disrobing him, covering her face and peeking through her fingers. When Long Feiye teasingly offered for her to join him, she shyly ran out of the room. Back in Xianyun Pavilion, Han Yunxi questioned Senior Servant Gui about a particularly severe burn scar on Long Feiye’s body.
Senior Servant Gui recounted his tragic past: as an infant, he was framed by the Empress Dowager and the Imperial Astronomers as an inauspicious child, blamed for a series of droughts. This led to his separation from his mother, the Yi Consort Dowager, for over a decade while he was sent to a suburban imperial palace.
On the very day a decree for his return was issued at the late Emperor’s wish, a devastating fire erupted at the palace, and Long Feiye was the sole survivor. Pondering these events, Han Yunxi connected the timing of the fire to the Empress Dowager and suspected she had orchestrated it. She realized the Empress Dowager's demand to find a "Wind Tribe mark" on Long Feiye was a cruel attempt to find a pretext to discredit his royal lineage.
The next morning, an enthusiastic Ningjing roused Han Yunxi, urging her to dress up to captivate Long Feiye. However, Han Yunxi was preoccupied with whether to confess her role as the Empress Dowager's spy to him. She subtly asked Ningjing what one should do if forced to deceive a loved one for an "ineffable reason." The innocent Ningjing immediately assumed Han Yunxi was alluding to Tang Li and his mysterious abandonment of their wedding.
Later, upon encountering Tang Li, Ningjing comically imagined he was suffering from a terminal illness or had provoked powerful enemies. She sincerely took his hand, declaring her readiness to share his hardships, which only caused Tang Li to panic. He stammered that they should lead separate lives, confessing, "To be frank, I get scared every time I see you. Look, my hands are trembling."
Unconvinced, Ningjing tearfully insisted he must have a secret sorrow, but Tang Li dismissed his tears as just "sand in my eyes" and fled, with her in playful pursuit. Soon after, Han Yunxi found a book in Long Feiye's private study detailing the location and appearance of the Wind Tribe mark.
Arriving at Renshou Palace, she reported to the Empress Dowager that she had seen the mark on the left side of Long Feiye's lower back and that it resembled "an eagle soaring with wings spread." The Empress Dowager expressed her satisfaction but coldly dismissed Han Yunxi’s request to see her mother, Lady Tianxin.
She questioned the veracity of the report and reminded Han Yunxi of her precarious position, warning that her life would be in peril if Long Feiye or his mother discovered her deception. The Empress Dowager then stated she would only reveal Lady Tianxin's whereabouts after verifying the information, ordering Han Yunxi to remain in Prince Qin's Mansion and report Long Feiye's movements via carrier pigeon.
Forced to comply, Han Yunxi began penning notes for the Empress Dowager, filling them with fabricated, mundane details about Long Feiye's daily routine, often interspersed with heartfelt expressions of her longing for him. Unbeknownst to her, Long Feiye was fully aware of her correspondence. Chu Xifeng intercepted every carrier pigeon, delivering the messages to Long Feiye before they reached the palace. He had intentionally left the book about the Wind Tribe mark in his study for her to find.
Amused by her clumsy attempts at espionage and touched by her true feelings, he was reassured that she had no intention of betraying him. Meanwhile, the Empress Dowager, passing through Qinghui Palace, observed Consort Qing transcribing a "Prayer Sutra" for her longevity. Consort Qing explained it was a Xiqiu custom for newly married women. Though her attendant was impressed, the Empress Dowager remained suspicious of Consort Qing's true motives.
In the Grand Marshal's residence, the Grand Marshal cautioned Crown Prince Tianmo against any rash actions, revealing that Prince Qin was secretly monitoring them in connection with a homicide case involving two ministers. This period of inactivity allowed Long Feiye some leisure. He went to Xianyun Pavilion and found numerous discarded paper balls on the floor. He picked up a few and read Han Yunxi's feigned reports, which were filled with her thinly veiled affection and longing for him.
Smiling, he stealthily approached Han Yunxi, who was lost in thought, took one of her notes, and began to read it aloud. Mortified, Han Yunxi frantically tried to snatch it back. In the ensuing playful struggle, Long Feiye held the note high out of her reach, only to be surprised when she leaped onto him to reclaim it, leaving them both blushing.
