As the spiked walls of the trap closed in, Qin Sang, when questioned by Lu Ping about her relentless pursuit, revealed the heavy burden on her heart. She recounted the horrifying scene of the Fengling Gang's demise, admitting that her own overconfidence had led to their complete annihilation by the Shanhai Gang. She felt it was a debt she had to repay, prompting her to uncover the truth.

Despite their perilous situation, Qin Sang remained unfazed, convinced that ordinary regional exam mechanisms were designed merely to test, not to harm. Lu Ping, however, cautioned her, reminding her of Wei Tianqi's malevolent actions earlier and warning that he would surely not hesitate to rig further traps. As the deadly mechanisms pressed closer, Lu Ping used his soul of Strength to hold them off.

He deliberately provoked Qin Sang, urging her to activate her soul of Vision (Chong Zhi Po) to perceive the mechanism's intricate workings. When she struggled, he teasingly threatened to remove his clothes, a desperate ploy that ignited her fury and focus. In a flash of insight, she discerned the patterns, allowing them to escape the deadly trap. Lu Ping then revealed that his soul power (Po Zhi Li) was only sustainable for the duration of a single joss stick.

He devised a cunning plan, proposing a deal to Qin Sang: he sought the Tianying Stone to qualify for the Soul Combat Convention, and in return, she could remain by his side, supervising him and holding him accountable if he were ever revealed to be affiliated with the Shanhai Gang. Qin Sang agreed, sending Ling Ziyan to monitor Wei Tianqi while she kept a watchful eye on Lu Ping.

Meanwhile, a servant reported to Mr. Wei that Lu Ping, a Zhaifeng Institute disciple, possessed hidden abilities. The servant speculated that Lu Ping might be the mysterious individual who had met Ms. Qin at Ruyu Restaurant. Concluding that Lu Ping was the killer of Xing Luo, Mr. Wei ordered his men to activate the martial arts tower's internal mechanisms, aiming to kill Lu Ping as an atonement to the Shanhai Gang Lord.

Crucially, he instructed his son, Wei Tianqi, to be extracted from the tower before the operation began. Outside the tower, Mo Lin observed Wei Tianqi being hastily pulled away by his own guards. He also sensed the presence of armed, unidentified individuals entering the tower, immediately realizing a trap was being sprung. He rushed inside to warn Zhao Xifan.

Zhao Xifan, deducing that Lu Ping was the true target of the exam, ordered the other Zhaifeng disciples to evacuate and summon the Chan State martial arts tower master. He then ascended the tower with Su Tang and Mo Lin, believing the biggest danger lay at the top. Ling Ziyan, overhearing their conversation, insisted on accompanying them to ensure Qin Sang's safety. Lu Ping and Qin Sang eventually reached the tower's summit and found the Tianying Stone.

Qin Sang, noticing a fluctuation in Lu Ping's soul power, questioned his true strength. Despite his evasiveness, she swiftly seized the Tianying Stone, stating she needed leverage until his identity was clear, promising to return it later. As she clutched the stone, a heavy profound iron (Xuan Tie) cage descended, trapping both of them. Even Lu Ping's soul of Strength proved ineffective against its formidable construction.

Qin Sang then noticed peculiar chains etched onto Lu Ping's wrists, demanding to know his true identity. Just as a massive stone door was about to seal them in, Zhao Xifan, Su Tang, and Mo Lin arrived. Zhao Xifan bravely held the heavy door open, urging his companions to free Lu Ping and Qin Sang. Mo Lin quickly located a corrosive agent in his bag, applying it to the profound iron cage, allowing them to escape.

As Lu Ping emerged, he immediately pulled Zhao Xifan, who was nearing collapse under the weight of the stone door, back into the confined space. Qin Sang pressed again for an explanation regarding Lu Ping's chains, but Zhao Xifan prioritized their collective escape. Suddenly, Wei's men released hypnotic smoke into the room, threatening to incapacitate them all. Realizing the tower's rooftop was its weakest point, Lu Ping sought Mo Lin's help.

However, Mo Lin's silver needles could no longer stimulate Lu Ping's pain-hardened meridians. In a desperate gambit to provoke Qin Sang and channel her rage, Lu Ping grabbed her throat, recited a menacing Shanhai Gang creed, and vividly described the gang's gruesome torture methods, culminating in a cruel taunt about the Fengling Gang's fate. Enraged, Qin Sang lashed out, stabbing Lu Ping with her Kuiying Sword.

Lu Ping, using the sword's energy, furiously stimulated his meridians, fighting against the Soul Confinement. One of the chains of the Soul Confinement shattered, and Lu Ping unleashed a powerful punch, demolishing the tower's roof. Everyone escaped through the opening, leaving the martial arts tower in ruins. Outside, Lu Ping presented the Tianying Stone.

The furious martial arts tower master berated them, declaring that Zhaifeng Institute would never again be permitted to use his tower and would be barred from the Soul Combat Convention. After the master stormed off, Zhao Xifan proudly announced Lu Ping's true identity to the assembled Zhaifeng disciples: the "God of Bandits" (Dao Sheng). Initially stunned, the disciples quickly erupted in cheers, embracing their extraordinary senior.

Lu Ping then thanked Qin Sang, returning the Shanhai Badge (Shanhai Ling) to her with a quiet wish for her quest to be fulfilled. Overwhelmed by his injuries, he collapsed. Su Tang, wary of Qin Sang's past animosity, quickly took the unconscious Lu Ping away, ensuring his safety. Qin Sang, now free, confronted Mr. Wei, accusing him of orchestrating the events in the martial arts tower.

She pointed out the presence of unusually lethal mechanisms and the indestructible profound iron cage, asserting they were part of a deliberate plot against them. Mr. Wei attempted to deflect, claiming it was merely an accident caused by the Zhaifeng disciples. At that moment, General Qin Qi, Qin Sang's brother, arrived with the Victorious Dragon Troop (Long Jie Jun). He had received a seemingly urgent letter from Ling Ziyan, written in Qin Sang's name, appealing for help.

Mr. Wei and Wei Tianqi were terrified by the General's presence. Qin Sang, however, downplayed her injuries to her brother, claiming they were self-inflicted, subtly protecting Lu Ping. She then cleverly requested that Wei Tianqi personally escort her out of Chan State with great pomp and circumstance.

This grand departure was a calculated move by Qin Sang to create a public spectacle, diverting the Wei family's attention and buying crucial time for Lu Ping and his companions to escape the city. Ling Ziyan later confirmed Qin Sang's true intentions, noting that her mistress, by aiding an enemy of the Shanhai Gang, clearly saw Lu Ping as a good person.

On their journey away from Chan State, Zhao Xifan pressed Lu Ping for details about his past, offering help and support, but Lu Ping steadfastly refused to reveal his true identity, believing his dangerous path was too perilous for Zhao Xifan to join.

Meanwhile, the other Zhaifeng disciples, having returned to the institute, excitedly informed their master, Guo Youdao, that Lu Ping was the legendary God of Bandits and had spectacularly destroyed the martial arts tower, much to Guo Youdao's dismay. Anticipating imminent pursuit from the powerful Wei family, Guo Youdao, in a dramatic display, publicly reprimanded Lu Ping and expelled him from Zhaifeng Institute, portraying him as a destructive troublemaker.

Understanding his master's protective intentions, Lu Ping accepted his expulsion without hesitation, leaving with Su Tang. Mo Lin, harboring a strong dislike for Wei Tianqi, also chose to accompany them. Soon after, the Wei family arrived at Zhaifeng Institute, searching for Lu Ping. Guo Youdao, maintaining his feigned anger, deliberately led Mr. Wei and his men on a wild goose chase to the back hillside, buying valuable time for Lu Ping, Su Tang, and Mo Lin to make their getaway. Zhao Xifan and the remaining disciples, understanding Guo Youdao's sacrifice, loyally followed him, determined to protect their master.
