Legend of Awakening Episode 44 Recap
> Legend of Awakening Recap
Su Tang brought Chu Min into Wuyou Valley, where Mo Buliu examined her pulse. He speculated that Shanhai Gang had likely discovered a method to create Force Eaters with the power of six forces. Upon waking, Chu Min confirmed she hadn't heard of Lu Ping's capture, but Liu Song had obtained Lu Ping's blood for his research, indicating Lu Ping was likely in trouble.
Chu Min then produced a vial of Lu Ping's extracted blood and a stolen Xi Sui Powder, which Mo Buliu gratefully accepted, recognizing them as crucial components for developing an antidote. He excitedly declared that with these, and a little more time, he could formulate the cure. Su Tang, concerned, asked if Chu Min had been injured acquiring these items, to which Chu Min simply stated that a master sometimes has to clean up a disciple's messes.
Chu Min, anticipating Liu Song might track her to the valley, urged Mo Buliu to evacuate the Mo family. She pointed out that the Mo family, lacking the Force of Heft, would be no match for Shanhai Gang, and that lives were more important than the antidote's swift completion. Mo Buliu hesitated, recalling his son Mo Lin's aspiration for him to be a hero. He decided to stay, declaring that at such a critical juncture, he couldn't abandon his post.
Mo Buliu then explained to his clan that Shanhai Gang was using snakes to preserve Lu Ping's blood, mixing it with Xi Sui Powder to create Force Eaters. He asked his family to retreat, acknowledging their inherent disadvantage. However, the clan members unanimously refused to leave him to face Shanhai Gang alone, vowing to stay and assist him in producing the antidote, affirming their shared lineage and brave spirit.
Meanwhile, Liu Song and his Force Eaters arrived outside Wuyou Valley, with Liu Song disdainfully remarking that there was no such thing as "Wuyou" (worry-free) in the human world before ordering his forces to "send them to hell." Inside, Mo Buliu frantically worked on the antidote, realizing he still needed more time.
A clan member informed him that Shanhai Gang had overwhelmed their poison mist defenses, and that Su Tang, Chu Min, and all the able-bodied men were fighting to buy him time. Su Tang had sent a message for him not to rush, promising they would hold out until the very last second.
On the battlefield, Liu Song confronted Chu Min, taunting her about her weakened state from repeated Force of Spirit attacks and the recent blood snake bite, and offering her protection if she rejoined him. Chu Min defiantly told him to stop talking and fight. Liu Song then commanded a full assault, ordering his men to "kill them all." During the fierce battle, Chu Min was severely injured while protecting Su Tang.
Mo Buliu, intervening with a poisonous smoke, rescued them and brought them to a hidden spot. Mo Buliu gave Chu Min and Su Tang medicine, telling them to stay put and adding a sleeping agent to ensure they wouldn't follow. Despite Su Tang's pleas not to return to the deadly fight and her insistence on joining as a Mo family member, Mo Buliu insisted that as a physician, he couldn't abandon his work halfway.
He hinted at Su Tang calling him "Father" in the future, implying his acceptance of her as family before the sleeping medicine took full effect on both women. He then returned to his lab, focused intensely, sensing a breakthrough was imminent. As Shanhai Gang's six-force Force Eaters breached the inner valley, the Mo family members fought valiantly, declaring that they would rather die than see Wuyou Valley fall.
Just as the Force Eaters reached his door, Mo Buliu finally completed the antidote. He entrusted the precious medicine to his parrot, Little Mo, ordering it to fly away to safety, declaring it was "time for me to be a hero." The Mo family fought to the last, sacrificing themselves to preserve Wuyou Valley's legacy.
After the battle, a subordinate reported to Liu Song that while Mo Buliu was dead, all the Force Eaters sent to the valley had perished, having been trapped and killed by the Mo family. Liu Song then inquired about Chu Min. His subordinate reported finding a female body with a destroyed face, but a physique similar to Chu Min and a blood snake bite wound on the wrist, leading them to believe it was her.
Enraged by Chu Min's supposed death, which he viewed as a defiant "Big Dipper demeanor," Liu Song cursed his fate and vowed to make the entire world pay for her loss. He immediately ordered all experimental subjects within Shanhai Gang to be turned into Force Eaters and dispatched to Jin City for a full-scale assault. Su Tang awoke to find Chu Min still unconscious beside her.
Horrified, she discovered the bodies of all the Mo family members strewn across the valley. She desperately searched for Mo Buliu, only to find him cold and lifeless. Overcome with grief, she cried out for "Father," a title he would never hear from her. Little Mo, the parrot, then appeared, carrying a letter from Mo Buliu.
In it, he explained he had completed the antidote and arranged for a "substitute" body for Chu Min, hoping Liu Song would believe her dead and retreat. He entrusted the antidote and the future to Su Tang. Reading the letter, Su Tang promised her deceased father that she would deliver his antidote to save everyone, then wept inconsolably. Meanwhile, the Emperor's army had arrived at the Victorious Dragon Troop's encampment outside Jin City.
Yan Xifan reported that under his command, Jin City remained secure, having repelled several probes from the Dan army. The Emperor, acknowledging Yan Xifan's previous failure to retrieve Lu Ping, nonetheless commended him for protecting Jin and granted him co-command of the Victorious Dragon Troop alongside Wen Rui, instructing him to atone for past misdeeds through new achievements. As the Emperor spoke, a Force Eater embedded within the Dragon Troop suddenly attacked.
Su Tang, arriving unexpectedly, used Mo Buliu's potent powder to neutralize the attacker, saving the Emperor. Yan Xifan, surprised by her presence, learned that Chu Min was in her carriage and needed immediate care. Su Tang then urgently warned him that Jin City was in grave danger. Moments later, a Jin City general arrived, confirming her fears.
He reported that mysterious black-clad figures, powerful six-force Force Eaters, had attacked the city overnight, wiping out the entire garrison and leading to Jin's fall. Enraged, the Emperor declared Jin City a crucial strategic point and once again ordered Yan Xifan to recapture it, tasking him to prove his loyalty and redeem himself. Yan Xifan solemnly vowed to retake the city, even if it cost him his life.
Later, Yan Xifan checked on Chu Min, learning her external wounds were healing but she remained unconscious. Su Tang explained how Chu Min risked her life to bring Lu Ping's blood and Xi Sui Powder to Wuyou Valley, how Mo Buliu had tirelessly worked on the antidote, and how Liu Song's subsequent attack led to the Mo family's heroic sacrifice, dying to protect her and Chu Min. Yan Xifan expressed his deep regret, acknowledging his part in the tragedy.
Su Tang, however, stated that apologies could not bring back Mo Lin or her father. She challenged him that if he truly felt remorse, he should destroy Shanhai Gang to avenge the hundreds of lives lost in Wuyou Valley. She then presented him with Mo Buliu's antidote formula, which could temporarily weaken Force Eaters. Yan Xifan accepted the formula and firmly promised to eradicate Shanhai Gang.
Just then, Chu Min awakened, but she seemed disoriented and did not recognize Su Tang. Su Tang deduced that Chu Min's amnesia was a consequence of the blood snake bite combined with Liu Song's repeated Force of Spirit attacks. Realizing the urgency, Su Tang decided to take Chu Min and leave, stating that only one person could resolve the current crisis, and that person was Lu Ping. She would go find him.
Meanwhile, Lu Ping awoke in a serene, flower-filled small village nestled under Big Dipper Mountain. Qin Sang greeted him, explaining she had brought him here, a place he once spoke of for planting flowers, for them to spend his last days. Lu Ping, acknowledging his terminal condition, suggested that instead of waiting sadly for death, they should live happily for their remaining time.
He then proposed they get married that very night, desiring to be an ordinary couple for just one day rather than pursuing a heroic life. Qin Sang readily agreed. Under the celestial witness of the moon and stars, they exchanged vows: Lu Ping pledged to marry Qin Sang, not wishing for a lifetime but only for their precious present moments; Qin Sang vowed to marry Lu Ping, not envying immortal couples but simply desiring to be his wife.
As they embraced, Lu Ping reflected that he had always been exhausted by life's hardships, constantly striving to survive, but without truly understanding why. Now, in this tranquil, simple world free of strife and with Qin Sang by his side, he finally understood he lived for this very moment of peace and companionship. He confessed that she made him want to live on, and Qin Sang promised they would.
From a distance, Guo Wushu and other Big Dipper disciples observed the wedding, not daring to disturb the couple's poignant happiness. They lamented the cruel fate that brought the pair together only for them to face imminent separation, with Guo Wushu grimly stating that only if Leng Xiutan were alive could Lu Ping be saved; otherwise, he was doomed. Suddenly, Su Tang arrived, bringing with her a flicker of hope.
She announced that she had a way to save Lu Ping, having heard about their location after escorting Chu Min back to Big Dipper. The next morning, Lu Ping discovered a note from Qin Sang, stating she had gone to Big Dipper to retrieve medicine and playfully reminding him it was his turn to cook. Lu Ping tried to drink water, but his hand trembled, and he shattered the bowl, a stark reminder of his weakening condition.
Realizing he couldn't cook, he decided to visit the market to buy something for Qin Sang. There, he overheard villagers discussing the war, praising Yan Xifan as a hero for leading the fight against Shanhai Gang, but also blaming Lu Ping for the current unrest, despite acknowledging his past heroism. A shopkeeper, Bao Niang, recognized Lu Ping, calling him by name and reminding him he had once saved her life. Lu Ping, unsettled, denied being the person she claimed and hastily departed.
