He emerged victorious, leading to Zhongxin Technology's bankruptcy. Its former boss, Qiao Dajiang, holds a deep grudge, blaming Wu Guopeng for his company's ruin, which forced him to sell his house, caused his daughter Xiaoxi to transfer schools, and left his wife struggling to find employment. After his lawyer, Wang, withdrew from the case, Qiao Dajiang resolved to seek revenge.
Fang Shu'an assigns a team from Liehuo Shendun, including Xiao Di and Liang Dawei, to protect Wu Guopeng. Wu Guopeng expresses trust in their capabilities and accepts their security arrangements. Meanwhile, Xiao Di, reflecting on a conversation with Xiong Kuohai, realizes her personal growth and increased maturity beyond her previous recklessness. During the mission, Liang Dawei attempts to discuss his feelings with Xiao Di.

However, Xiao Di persuades Wu Guopeng to ride in the Liehuo Shendun's vehicle for enhanced safety, effectively foiling Qiao Dajiang's plan. Witnessing his scheme fail, Qiao Dajiang becomes furious. Zhang Yan notices Qiao Dajiang's car and his unusual behavior but dismisses it. A dejected Qiao Dajiang returns home and argues with his wife. She expresses concern over Xiaoxi's school transfer and implores him to find a stable job instead of fixating on lawsuits. Qiao Dajiang disagrees, and in a fit of anger, slams the door and leaves.
