Cui Tianqi's reticular brain tumor has worsened, rendering her medication ineffective. Wu Fei takes her to a specialist, who reveals that surgery is too risky due to potential paralysis or dementia, and she will soon lose her sight. The doctor adds that her lifespan is limited, unlikely to extend beyond thirty years. Devastated, Cui Tianqi drinks heavily and is found by Liang Dawei, who takes her home, accidentally bumping into a small box in the process.
Meanwhile, Qin Sheng and Liu Sha's investigation yields a video of Ju Liang working as an instructor at Panshi Security. Guan Xiaodi, initially believing Ju Liang would never betray Liehuo Shendun, is furious upon seeing the evidence. She arranges to meet Ju Liang at the AK Club to confront him. Guan Xiaodi accuses him of betraying Liehuo Shendun and her.
Ju Liang insists he never belonged to Liehuo Shendun, thus could not betray it, nor did he betray her or leak any training plans, stating that Panshi offers him the respect and importance he deserves. Guan Xiaodi uses boxing to resolve their dispute, aggressively fighting and defeating Ju Liang, all while her father watches. Ju Liang is deeply disappointed by her lack of trust. He maintains his stance, asserting that his heart will always hold Guan Xiaodi, before leaving.
Liu Sha, having recovered from her injury, is discharged from the hospital. Her past with Qin Sheng is revealed: he was a young sniper whose error led to the deaths of her parents years ago. Qin Sheng, guilt-ridden, cared for Liu Sha, and they fell in love. Their relationship broke down when Qin Sheng confessed his past on the day he proposed, but her recent hospitalization led to their reconciliation, much to Xiong Kuohai's relief.
Upon returning to Liehuo Shendun, Liu Sha proposes to quit, feeling she failed her mission to catch the traitor and that her relapsing illness prevents her from fighting. Qin Sheng is shocked, while Xiong Kuohai, Guan Xiaodi, and others try to persuade her to stay. Liu Sha expresses concerns about being a burden. Xiong Kuohai eventually agrees to let her stay for another month, promising not to stop her if she still wishes to leave then. Liu Sha accepts. Separately, Guan Xiaodi and four other individuals successfully complete their internship, officially becoming elite bodyguards, receiving congratulations from the instructors.
