Ming Yefeng and Baili Hongshuo found themselves facing a challenge from two wizards of Spirit Mountain, Wu Li and Wu Di, who shared a single body, embodying Yin and Yang. The wizards explained that attacking Wu Li would harm Ming Yefeng, while attacking Wu Di would harm Baili Hongshuo. To survive, they had to defeat both brothers simultaneously with perfect coordination. Despite the danger, Baili Hongshuo initiated a series of precise attacks, while Ming Yefeng, though wounded, strategically countered.

Their combined efforts overwhelmed Wu Li and Wu Di, who dissipated into ash after uttering a few parting words. Following the battle, Ming Yefeng shed his previous prejudices against Baili Hongshuo. Baili Hongshuo noticed Ming Yefeng wearing a white tiger's tooth necklace and inquired about it. Ming Yefeng explained that Princess Na Cheng had given it to him, symbolizing his promise to care for Li Ruo for life.

He acknowledged that Li Ruo only saw him as a brother and loved Baili Hongshuo. Understanding that true love must be mutual, Ming Yefeng expressed his wish for Baili Hongshuo and Li Ruo to find happiness together, choosing to step aside and fulfill their love. Meanwhile, Hou Zhengze and Xiaotong regained consciousness in a strange, confined area under a restriction. Their memories were fragmented, leaving them unable to recall how they arrived or how to escape the barrier.

Xiaotong became distressed, but Hou Zhengze calmly comforted her. As Baili Hongshuo continued his search, he encountered a mysterious man who revealed himself as Wu Zhen, one of the Ten Wizards of Spirit Mountain. Wu Zhen challenged Baili Hongshuo to a game, deploying a magical "Gui Ge Pine" that could drain blood. Baili Hongshuo was initially injured multiple times but discovered the pine's weakness: its attraction to blood. He intentionally cut his palm to lure it, then swiftly destroyed it.

Wu Zhen acknowledged Baili Hongshuo's prowess and challenged him to a final duel before granting passage. Baili Hongshuo defeated Wu Zhen with a single decisive move. Wu Zhen died without regret, expressing a sense of liberation that he would no longer be trapped on Spirit Mountain guarding Fang Tianju. With many of their comrades fallen, the four remaining wizards of Spirit Mountain rallied together.

They reaffirmed their oath to guard Fang Tianju and united their spiritual energy to cast a powerful protective formation. Elsewhere, An Tingfeng and Ling Jun arrived at a mountaintop. An Tingfeng fell into a deep contemplation, triggering a flashback. He recalled his past as Ru Shou, the Metal Deity, and his encounter with Wu Xie on Spirit Mountain. They had met through martial arts, leading to a deep connection and love.

However, after the devastating battle to imprison Jiuying, many gods perished, and Ru Shou drowned his sorrows in wine. Wu Xie wished to stay by his side, but Ru Shou, choosing to wander alone, rejected her companionship. In the present, Wu Xie, now aged with white hair and bearing the marks of time, confronted An Tingfeng (Ru Shou), who was accompanied by Ling Jun.

Wu Xie's deep love for Ru Shou endured, but witnessing An Tingfeng's tenderness towards Ling Jun sparked intense jealousy. She believed Ling Jun had used demonic arts to bewitch Ru Shou's heart. Consumed by this belief, Wu Xie furiously attacked Ling Jun. To protect Ling Jun, An Tingfeng swiftly drew and threw his sword, fatally piercing Wu Xie, who then dissipated into ash. He showed no remorse.

Wu Xie's senior brother, Wu Luo, appeared, distraught by his sister's hundreds of years of unrequited devotion and furious at An Tingfeng's heartless act. He glared angrily, vowing that An Tingfeng would never obtain Fang Tianju. After the illusion dissipated, Ling Jun, disturbed by An Tingfeng's ruthlessness, questioned his choice, struggling to understand why he, a revered Metal Deity, would prefer a lowly demon over noble goddesses. An Tingfeng, unfazed by worldly prejudices, suggested that if he had to offer an explanation, it might simply be that Ling Jun liked wine, while Wu Xie preferred tea.
