Dawei explained that the photos used were the same ones Zhang Minghan had previously shown to the board, suggesting that an insider within the company must have provided them. Shan Junhao, considering this a likely retaliation from Xie Quan, instructed Dawei to "continue investigating" to identify the insider.
Before leaving, Dawei hesitantly questioned Shan Junhao's upcoming wedding, implying concern for his decision. Later, Shan Junhao returned home to find Fan Yunyi sitting in the dark living room. She explained that with her impaired vision, it made no difference whether the lights were on or not. Yunyi then confessed her love to him, stating she would wait "for the rest of my life" for his response.
Meanwhile, in another part of the house, Xu Ziqian tried to persuade Yunyi to reconsider marrying Shan Junhao, but she remained resolute, reminding him of his duties as both best man and bridesmaid. Elsewhere, Mrs. Shan encouraged her son, Shan Junhao, to be happy on his wedding day, telling him to trust that marrying Yunyi was "the best for you." Unaware of the unfolding events, Ye Qianyu stumbled upon Tonghao's diary in his old room.
His entries revealed his deep affection for her, recalling their shared adventure in the Devil Forest and his realization that she cared for him. He wrote about his decision to stay in Guanmei and his desire to fulfill her dreams, expressing his love for "the girl who’s destined to be part of my life" and his annoyance with Taichu constantly being around her.
The next morning, as Ye Qianyu prepared to leave Guanmei with Taichu for a trip, the villagers gathered to bid her farewell. Old Tang gave her a Polaroid automatic land camera, Fengqiao presented her with an embroidered hanky featuring her favorite frog, and the Master offered a "lucky egg." Old Tang also entrusted her with money, urging her not to worry about expenses, and asked Taichu to take good care of Qianyu.
As Taichu drove, he meticulously outlined their travel plans, but Ye Qianyu was clearly distracted and melancholic. Observing her inability to let go, Taichu questioned her resolve: "If you can’t let it go yourself, a change of place is of no use. Are you sure you want to leave?" It was at this moment that Ye Qianyu, accompanied by Taichu, entered the venue.
Mrs. Shan immediately confronted Ye Qianyu, demanding to know her purpose there. Ye Qianyu calmly stated that she had come to "give them my blessings." Upon hearing Ye Qianyu's voice, Fan Yunyi strained to see, and her vision, which had been impaired, began to clear enough for her to vaguely make out Ye Qianyu's and Shan Junhao's faces amidst the murmuring crowd. Shan Junhao, his gaze fixed on Ye Qianyu, was momentarily stunned.
As a decorative structure suddenly began to fall, Ye Qianyu instinctively pushed Shan Junhao out of the way, getting struck on the head herself. When another part of the structure threatened to fall on her, Shan Junhao, without hesitation, shielded her with his own body, sustaining injuries to his back and head, and losing consciousness. In the ensuing chaos, with everyone rushing to aid the unconscious Shan Junhao, Fan Yunyi quietly slipped away from the venue.
Xu Ziqian, returning to search for her after Shan Junhao was taken to the hospital, frantically called home but was told she hadn't returned. Concerned for her well-being, especially given her vision, he angrily confronted Mrs. Shan for only caring about Shan Junhao, then rushed out to search for Yunyi. Meanwhile, people on the street stared and took photos of Fan Yunyi, who wandered disoriented in her wedding dress.
At the hospital, a doctor informed Mrs. Shan that Shan Junhao had suffered a subgaleal hematoma from the impact and shock due to blood loss, but was "OK" after some clots were removed. Mrs. Shan then ordered an investigation into the accident. Meanwhile, Mrs. Shan angrily confronted Ye Qianyu, who was still injured, blaming her for the incident. Taichu and Dawei quickly interjected, explaining that Ye Qianyu had saved Shan Junhao and was also injured in the process.
Later, Ye Qianyu, with a bandage on her head, went to Shan Junhao's hospital room. He immediately pulled her into a tight embrace, scolding her, "Don’t take such risks ever again." Ye Qianyu explained that she would have saved "whoever was there" in that situation, not just him. Shan Junhao asked if she regretted leaving him, to which she replied she had come "to convince myself to give up."
He then declared that he would never let her give up on him, regardless of what others might say, promising to "repay what I owe you with the rest of my life." He concluded, "Tonghao was in love with you and so is Shan Junhao. I guess this is fate," adding that he wouldn't allow her to leave him again. Ye Qianyu, tearful but touched, reminded him that he was married, but he insisted, "I didn’t make the vow."
He pulled her closer, telling her, "Your eyes have given you away," and refused to release her hand. Taichu, observing this tender moment from outside the room, quietly left, giving them space. Just then, Mrs. Shan walked in, her anger visible. She tried to make Ye Qianyu leave, but Shan Junhao held onto her. Mrs. Shan then revealed the shocking news: "Yunyi is missing!"
