> Cross Fire Recap

On the first day of school, Lu Xiaobei's father took Lu Xiaobei to school and gave him a new phone, admonishing him not to play with it during class. As long as he studied hard and didn't play games, it didn't matter whether he got into a prestigious university; there were many paths in life, and choosing the right one was most important.

A new transfer student, Chu Ge, reportedly a female sports student who often got into fights, arrived in the class. Everyone locked the classroom door, hoping to see her make a fool of herself. Unexpectedly, she jumped directly through the window, walked across the tables to Lu Xiaobei, sat down in the empty seat next to him without a word, and immediately fell asleep.

Before Xiao Feng woke up, he received a call from his mother saying that the house they built had collapsed, injuring his father's leg. Xiao Feng quickly called Xu Wei and rushed to the hospital. Xiao Feng's father looked at Xiao Feng with disgust, commenting that at twenty-five, he still didn't have a proper job and only knew how to play games all day. Xiao Feng's father almost got up to hit Xiao Feng.

As Xiao Feng and Xu Wei were about to leave disheartened, Xiao Feng's mother caught up with them, holding a bag Xiao Feng's father had bought for Xiao Feng. She said that carrying it made him look like a scholar and advised him to do something meaningful. Xiao Feng's father had been strong his whole life, and now the whole family was mocking them. Xiao Feng and Xu Wei went to see the collapsed house; it was in ruins.

Xiao Feng received a call from Xu Wei's girlfriend, Linlin, who wanted to meet him and asked him not to tell Xu Wei. Xiao Feng, feeling uneasy, went to the appointment. Linlin cried and said that she and Xu Wei had planned to get married next year, but Xu Wei had refused for Xiao Feng's sake, because if he left, no one would help Xiao Feng pursue his dream.

Linlin just wanted to tell Xiao Feng that she wanted to stay with Xu Wei for life and didn't want to end up like Xiao Feng and Taozi. She begged Xiao Feng to let Xu Wei go, and Xiao Feng felt lost once again. During the exam, Chu Ge insisted on looking at Lu Xiaobei's answers, but unexpectedly, Lu Xiaobei's answers were also random guesses. His answer sheet was filled with the words: "Study hard and make progress every day."

Cheng Hao was exposed by Lu Xiaobei while flirting with girls at the gym. He leaned on the railing, looking at the boys playing basketball downstairs, feeling a bit sad. Suddenly, an idea popped into his head: he wanted to form a team. Lu Xiaobei set his sights on Wang Kai, but Cheng Hao advised him not to provoke him. Although Wang Kai was very powerful, his shooting and playstyle were wild, and many teams had been defeated by him.

Wang Kai had a match today, and Lu Xiaobei and Cheng Hao went to watch the excitement. When Cheng Hao won the match and stood on a chair, proclaiming himself peerless, Lu Xiaobei kicked Cheng Hao over. Wang Kai insisted on challenging them to a match. Cheng Hao was incredibly timid, but in the end, he could only agree.

With less than a month until the start of the Hundred Cities League, this was Lu Xiaobei's only path to enter the professional league. Although the road was difficult, he was serious; he was determined to enter the professional league. Xiao Feng contacted Brother Peng to practice shooting together, thinking that a strong alliance would form a team, but they lost face due to a mistake in a match.

In a fit of anger, Xiao Feng declared that they were aiming for the national championship! After the results came out, Lu Xiaobei and Chu Ge looked at their papers, which only had scores in the teens, and exchanged glances. Chu Ge curiously asked him how his leg became lame. Lu Xiaobei said it was just a car accident. The two had a childish argument, and their voices involuntarily grew louder.

Cheng Hao and Wang Kai's match ended in a terrible loss. Lu Xiaobei said he would help him win it back and confidently sat in Cheng Hao's seat. Lu Xiaobei led Cheng Hao's team to victory against Wang Kai and told Wang Kai to follow him from now on. Wang Kai simply replied with one word, "Scram." But Lu Xiaobei was full of confidence; he was sure he would recruit Wang Kai. Xiao Feng was busy all day doing nothing.

Late at night, he got lost in the heavy rain, sat by the roadside, lit a cigarette, and felt sad recalling what Taozi and Linlin had said to him. Xiao Feng bought a table full of dishes as if he had something to tell Xu Wei. Xu Wei also bought some skewers, saying he had good news to celebrate with him. Xiao Feng told Xu Wei that he had canceled their registration for the national challenge. Xu Wei's expression changed.

Xiao Feng told him that they were not young anymore and should do what they needed to do; they shouldn't mess around with those kids anymore. Today was their farewell meal. Xu Wei took a swig of wine, guessing that Linlin had talked to Xiao Feng. He had just broken up with Linlin an hour ago, precisely so he could focus on playing games in the future. Xiao Feng became anxious.

Xu Wei and Linlin had been together for five years; didn't it hurt him to break up like that? But Xu Wei felt it was worth it; it was his choice, while Xiao Feng chose to throw away his dream. Xu Wei angrily kicked over the table, grabbed the trophy, and prepared to leave. However, Xiao Feng snatched the trophy and violently smashed it. They were both past their prime; they couldn't treat ideals as reality anymore.

Xu Wei grabbed Xiao Feng's collar and declared that with the team gone, Xiao Feng no longer needed to concern himself with his affairs! Xiao Feng went to eat noodles. The TV was broadcasting the Olympic Games, and to his surprise, Liu Xiang had withdrawn from the competition. Xiao Feng looked up in astonishment, Lu Xiaobei's words echoing in his ears. Without time to think much, Xiao Feng hurriedly ran home and opened CrossFire.
