Mu Ciling questioned Su Changhe, asking why they had to cooperate with their allies. He suggested that if they had intervened earlier, Su Muyu might not have been so severely wounded. Su Changhe, angered by this challenge, asked if Mu Ciling was questioning his authority. Mu Ciling quickly backed down, stating that his elder brother's decisions surely had their reasons.

Su Changhe then instructed his subordinate to inform Dian Ye that their cooperation was strictly limited to opposing the Prince of Langya. He warned them not to act rashly, as when he emerged from seclusion, everything would be decided. Meanwhile, a deputy general presented an urgent report to the Prince of Langya, detailing how General Lei had been ambushed while attacking Nanxu City.

After breaking through with a small squad, General Lei was now fleeing to Mount Luolei, where they had some troops stationed. However, Nanjue's forces were determined to encircle the mountain, and all available reinforcements were tied down elsewhere. The Nanjue army appeared to be going all out, willing to pay any price to eliminate their commander. The Prince of Langya, despite being unwell, ordered his deputy to rescue General Lei.

He reflected that the more one gains, the more one stands to lose, and expressed his determination to achieve his goals in his limited time. He mentioned that Ji Ruofeng and Chuhe had gone to the Miao Territory to find Dragonfire Herb and Cinnabar Spiders, which he believed would suppress the frost poison in his body. A person named Xinyue warned him that someone seemed to be deliberately moving his people away.

The Prince of Langya acknowledged the warning, stating that when the inevitable happens, one must "cast everything aside." Tang Lianyue then reported to the Prince of Langya that a major event had occurred in Tianqi City the previous night. Su Muyu had fought and killed Xu Liuyun, Nanjue's Blade Ghost. However, the young miracle physician Bai Hehuai, who was with Su Muyu, seemed to have suffered a misfortune.

Following this, Su Muyu had stormed the Flying Tiger General's residence, even involving the Jinwu Guards, and He-Yu Clinic was now deserted. Mu Qingyang, from the Mu family, arrived and confirmed that Bai Hehuai was alive, but not entirely well. He explained that Blood River's Patriarch was in seclusion, one family head was gravely injured, and another was far away.

Mu Qingyang, who admitted he wasn't much of a fighter, requested the Guardians' assistance, noting that only the Xuanwu Guardian (Tang Lianyue) was present. Su Muyu eventually awoke at Ms. Wan'er's residence. Mu Yumo informed him that He-Yu Clinic was no longer safe and that Mr. Tu had brought them to Ms. Wan'er's place, known as the quietest spot in Tianqi City. Su Muyu immediately asked about the miracle physician.

Mu Yumo reassured him that Zhaoyan said Bai Hehuai was out of danger but needed time to wake up. Su Muyu suggested discreetly sending Bai Hehuai out of Tianqi to Blood River where Uncle Zhe and Uncle Qidao were present. However, Mu Yumo argued that Bai Hehuai was too weak for such a long journey. She added that she had already sent word to Blood River, and Uncle Zhe and Uncle Qidao would dispatch strong reinforcements to Tianqi.

At Blood River, a friend complained to Su Zhe about the new tasks assigned by Su Muyu, which involved farming and managing harvests, wondering when Blood River's "broadswords" had turned into "sickles." He also mentioned Su Muyu's new strict policy of testing disciples upon their return from Tianqi, with failure leading to expulsion from the Three Families. Just then, news arrived from Tianqi City about the grave situation that had endangered his daughter.

Without hesitation, Su Zhe declared his intention to "flatten Tianqi." Tang Lianyue and Mu Yumo had a tense conversation. Mu Yumo confronted Tang Lianyue about his feelings for her, asking if he would propose marriage at Blood River if his senior was rescued. Tang Lianyue hesitated, citing the disapproval of the Tang Clan grand master and the Prince of Langya. Mu Yumo, hurt by his reluctance, questioned if liking a woman from Blood River was shameful in his eyes.

Though disappointed, she felt a glimmer of hope, acknowledging that he admitted to having feelings for her. She declared that they were now partners in their mission to rescue his senior and avenge Su Muyu and the miracle physician, and then she left. Tu Wan had been investigating General Li Xian's son, Li Zhengqi, and found something suspicious. He noted that Li Zhengqi, despite his father's bravery, had poor martial talent and had not achieved much by his twenties.

However, ten days ago, Li Zhengqi had surprisingly excelled in the Jinwu Guards' preliminary selection for the Golden Throne Contest, directly qualifying for the main event. Soon after, he fell ill. Tu Wan suspected Li Zhengqi had used a method to boost his power, possibly the "drugged puppet art," and was likely tricked, as such methods have severe backlashes.

Tu Wan discovered that Li Zhengqi had frequently visited Doom Abyss in the Ghost Market, a well-known black market in Tianqi City. He learned that the Ghost Market would be open that day. Su Muyu asked him to notify Mu Xuewei and the others. At the Ghost Market, Mu Qingyang expressed his curiosity about the infamous "place of monsters and ghosts," wondering how it compared to Blood River. Tang Lianyue, Mu Yumo, and Mu Qingyang arrived.

They heard rumors about Li Zhengqi going mad. A vendor at the market was selling pills, claiming they could transform a person's body to win the Golden Throne Contest and even the martial exam. He explained that Li Zhengqi's madness was due to him impatiently taking three pills at once before the prelims, and warned others not to be so foolish, while still providing five pills to each buyer. Elsewhere, Xie Xuan was summoned by Sikong Changfeng.

Li Hanyi found Xie Xuan to be verbose. They decided to make a bet: to see who could pluck more flowers from the abundant rhododendrons on Mount Cang using only sword energy within the time it took for one stick of incense to burn. The loser would go to Tianqi to assist the Prince of Langya. Bai Hehuai finally regained consciousness, surprised to be alive. Zhaoyan, her disciple, reminded her to rest due to her severe injuries.

Bai Hehuai, in good spirits, playfully questioned who the true miracle physician was. Zhaoyan explained that Su Muyu had suffered severe internal injuries after storming the general's manor to protect them, and was now recovering. Bai Hehuai examined Su Muyu's pulse and realized his condition was more complex than just internal injuries. She confronted Su Muyu, telling him he was on the verge of demonic deviation, which she suspected he risked to save her.

Su Muyu confirmed his commitment to his promise made in Jiuxiao City to keep her safe. Bai Hehuai warned him about the dangers of demonic deviation, recalling Jian Wudi's fate. Su Muyu assured her he had it under control and asked her not to tell Mu Yumo and the others to avoid worrying them further. Bai Hehuai agreed but cautioned him against acting recklessly. The Prince of Langya received a message from Su Muyu via a Mu family messenger butterfly.

Concluding that Su Muyu was trustworthy, he decided it was time to meet with the people from Blood River again. Back at the Ghost Market, Tang Lianyue, Mu Yumo, and Mu Qingyang were confronted by guards who recognized Tang Lianyue as the Xuanwu Guardian. As they tried to secure the pills from the vendor, their path was blocked. Tang Lianyue was reluctant to harm the guards. He confidently declared that his Tang Clan's hidden weapons were faster than arrows.

However, Night Crow then appeared with Tang Linghuang. Tang Lianyue was stunned, recognizing Tang Linghuang as his senior, which made him hesitate to act and left him constrained by Night Crow. Night Crow stated that Tang Linghuang was there to take Tang Lianyue's life.
