The new branch of He-Yu Clinic in Tianqi City officially opened, but no customers came. Bai Hehuai lamented the lack of attention, especially after gaining such a reputation in Nan'an City, only to move a thousand miles away. Su Muyu's sister, Xiao Zhaoyan, enthusiastically declared her ambition to become the King of Medicine, vowing to establish clinics across the Four Greatest Cities and even change Medicine King Valley's creed, much to Bai Hehuai's exasperation.

When asked about his own aspirations, Su Muyu calmly stated he would be the boss if his sister became the King of Medicine. Tu Wan, a friend of Su Muyu, arrived with gifts to celebrate the opening. Bai Hehuai, observing Tu Wan's pale complexion and light steps, offered to take his pulse. She accurately pointed out his frequent cold limbs, night sweats, and restless nights.

Tu Wan, initially dismissing it as a result of practicing Frost Qi, grew concerned when Bai Hehuai further described his symptoms. Xiao Zhaoyan translated Bai Hehuai's medical terms, confirming Tu Wan suffered from kidney deficiency—both yin and yang deficiency. Tu Wan was shocked, questioning how simply listening to music daily could cause such an ailment. Su Changhe, the Patriarch of Blood River, then entered. Tu Wan recognized him immediately, excusing himself due to urgent matters at Thousand-Gold Tower.

After Tu Wan left, Bai Hehuai jokingly called Su Changhe a "wicked thing." Su Changhe, in turn, playfully brandished his Hell Palm. Su Muyu intervened, reminding him that his Hell Palm was almost at the ninth level and could genuinely scare people.

They discussed their martial prowess, with Su Muyu admitting that while he might win a normal duel with a ninety percent chance, Su Changhe would win a life-or-death battle with a hundred percent certainty because he fought without mercy. Su Changhe mentioned he needed to go into seclusion to break through to the ninth level, anticipating the many experts in Tianqi City. He then revealed his "grand gift" for the clinic.

Mu Qingyang, head of the Mu family, and Mu Xuewei then arrived. Su Changhe noted Mu Xuewei's talent in formations, which he heard was comparable to her poison skills, even though she was cured of her deadly poison. Mu Qingyang clarified that he was skilled in formations, and while Xuewei's poisons were gone, she remained the Mu family's foremost poison expert.

He proposed that her knowledge of poisons combined with his formations would be a perfect gift for Bai Hehuai, as they could set up defenses for the clinic. Su Changhe emphasized the need for preparations since they were no longer hiding their identities in Tianqi City, acknowledging the city’s inherent dangers.

Meanwhile, the Prince of Langya (Xiao Ruofeng) pondered his past as a carefree wanderer versus his current responsibilities in court, lamenting how the turmoil had replaced his dreams of the martial world. He anticipated the arrival of Situ Xue, whom he had invited to Tianqi City. He confided that despite facing Nanjue's army, he was afraid to face her. A flashback revealed their first encounter: Xiao Ruofeng, a young wanderer, met Situ Xue.

She found him attractive and, feeling hot, spontaneously jumped into a lake. She later playfully proposed marriage, intending for him to become her live-in husband, and claimed his family heirloom sword, Autumn Thunder, as part of his dowry. Their romance took a turn when Situ Xue introduced Xiao Ruofeng to her father, who recognized his sword as the Haoque Sword and realized he was a prince of the Xiao imperial line.

Situ Xue, a wanderer who despised the court, immediately broke off their relationship, refusing to accept the Haoque Sword. Despite Xiao Ruofeng’s persistent attempts to win her back, their paths diverged after she gave him a one-year ultimatum to choose between the court and the martial world. Back in the present, Situ Xue confronted the Prince of Langya, criticizing his poetry and observing that while he tried to appear as he once was, she genuinely remained the same.

She reminded him of her master's teaching about having only one choice in life. He acknowledged his impending death and made a desperate plea: if he were to die, he asked her to take their son, Ling Chen, away from Tianqi City. Situ Xue reluctantly agreed, but with a condition: she would only take Ling Chen if he died, and she would raise him as a carefree wanderer, not an avenger.

The Prince of Langya accepted this, expressing relief that Ling Chen would have such a life. Later, at a meeting in Fengxue Tower, Su Changhe, Su Muyu, Mu Qingyang, and Bai Hehuai awaited the Prince of Langya alongside his guardians, Azure Dragon and Tang Lian Yue. The Prince of Langya was late, explaining his delay was due to "a matter of the heart," which Su Muyu deemed worth waiting for.

Bai Hehuai, however, noticed his weariness and offered him a prescription, which he politely declined. Su Muyu began to explain Blood River's intentions. After Su Changhe became patriarch, Blood River reorganized, destroyed the Soul Reapers' Hall, and broke free from Shadow Sect's control, becoming a purely martial sect. However, their dark past made it difficult to gain acceptance.

Their initial plan to cooperate with the Tang Clan, using their influence, was ruined by Tang Lingzun's revolt and Tang Linghuang becoming a puppet. Su Muyu explained their choice of the Prince of Langya, as his "brilliance" as the foremost warrior and court figure would "light their path forward." They sought to use his reputation to earn legitimacy for Blood River.

In exchange, Blood River offered to rescue Tang Linghuang, cure his puppet poison, eliminate Night Crow, and dismantle the royal faction supporting her, thereby assisting the Prince of Langya in stabilizing the court. Meanwhile, the First Prince and General Dian were also making their own arrangements. Xu Liuyun, The Blade Ghost of Nanjue, arrived, having been invited by the First Prince to witness the Heaven-Splitting Blade Technique.

The First Prince revealed his intention to claim Prince of Langya's treasures and the Heaven-Splitting Blade Technique for himself once his plan was complete. He sought to make the Emperor suspicious of the Prince of Langya to secure his own claim to the throne. He viewed the Prince of Langya as a threat, acknowledging his brilliance but also the Emperor's fear of him, a fear reinforced by a nightmare the Emperor had of being stabbed by the Prince of Langya.
