Liu Ziguang, who recently resurfaced in Jiangbei after an eight-year disappearance, confided in Officer Hu Rong about his amnesia. He recounted how his father, who owned the "Truly Authentic" food stall, died there on a rainy night eight years prior. After this tragic event, Liu Ziguang left Jiangbei by bus, but his memory of everything that followed vanished. He earnestly assured Hu Rong that he was not lying and had nothing to hide.

Hu Rong, suggesting a visit to the bus station the next day might help him recover memories, asked him to add her on WeChat, a concept Liu Ziguang did not understand. She also informed him that his childhood friend, Zhuo Li, had reported a recent fight. Separately, Bei Xiaoshuai and Zhuo Li discussed the fight from the previous day, where a remarkably strong individual, strikingly similar to Liu Ziguang, had defended himself against a group of thugs.

They doubted it was truly their old friend, recalling Liu Ziguang's past timidity. They also worried about potential retaliation from Sun Wei, the leader of the thugs, especially since Zhuo Li had used his own phone to call the police, fearing Sun Wei would discover their involvement. Sun Wei, intent on revenge, contacted Liu Ziguang by phone. He held Bei Xiaoshuai and Zhuo Li captive, forcing Liu Ziguang to listen to their cries for help.

Sun Wei mockingly invited Liu Ziguang to the boxing gym. Liu Ziguang immediately rushed to the old warehouse where his friends lived. Sun Wei demanded that Liu Ziguang fight one of his formidable thugs. Liu Ziguang accepted the challenge to save his friends, effortlessly defeating his opponent. Breaking his word, Sun Wei then ordered a dozen more thugs to attack Liu Ziguang simultaneously. Despite the overwhelming numbers, Liu Ziguang again triumphed, sending the thugs scattering in defeat.

Following the dramatic rescue, Bei Xiaoshuai and Zhuo Li invited Liu Ziguang to the "Truly Authentic" barbecue stall to celebrate. They affectionately dubbed him "Brother Guang," deeply impressed by his newfound fighting abilities, and reminisced about their childhood as the "Three Musketeers of Gaotupo." When Bei Xiaoshuai tried to pay, Li Jianguo, the owner, presented him with an unexpectedly high bill, including 13 unpaid tabs from the current year.

Li Jianguo revealed he was forced to sell the shop due to "some things that came up." Liu Ziguang overheard Li Jianguo's phone conversation, realizing he owed a significant debt to someone named "Boss Pang." Liu Ziguang offered assistance, but Li Jianguo declined, explaining the debt was too substantial for a small sum of money to fix. Liu Ziguang thanked Li Jianguo for preserving the "Truly Authentic" signage.

Li Jianguo, a former Special Forces soldier, shared that he respected Liu Ziguang's father, a truly good man who believed that "the reason why bad people are so bad is because of good people's silence." Meanwhile, Hu Rong attempted to send a WeChat message to Liu Ziguang about their meeting, but it failed without her realizing. Annoyed by his apparent no-show, she found him at the "Truly Authentic" shop.

She angrily confronted him for standing her up, stating she no longer trusted him. Liu Ziguang tried to explain that he had rushed to help his friends, but Hu Rong refused to listen and left. Bei Xiaoshuai consoled Liu Ziguang, promising to smooth things over with Hu Rong and inviting him to move in with them, offering to teach him how to use WeChat. Liu Ziguang accepted the offer.

Tiger later reported to Nie Wanfeng that Liu Ziguang's hospital examination had confirmed his amnesia. Tiger planned to personally visit the hospital to verify the medical report. Nie Wanfeng instructed him to be cautious and to report back immediately. Nie Wanfeng then mentioned his plan to host Hou Sihai at his son Chengcheng's fourth birthday party, noting the gathering was an opportunity to soothe Chengcheng's nerves after a recent "bad thing," subtly referring to the kidnapping.

Hou Sihai arrived with Sun Wei. At the dinner table, Hou Sihai attempted to greet Chengcheng, but the child, visibly frightened, clung to Nie Wanfeng. Nie Wanfeng, in a seemingly lighthearted but pointed tone, joked about whether Hou Sihai was behind the kidnapping, making Hou Sihai uneasy. Nie Wanfeng then declared his principle, stating, "if anyone touches my family, that's the same as touching my bottom line."

Hu Rong visited Mr. Guo in the hospital, seeking information about Liu Ziguang's past, particularly his family background and what happened during his eight-year disappearance. Mr. Guo could only confirm that Liu Ziguang claimed to have amnesia. During her visit, a quirky patient named A-Se, who called Liu Ziguang his "Sect Leader" and claimed to be a disciple of the "Light Sect," launched into a fantastical story about their first meeting.

Captain Han, accompanying Hu Rong, had to intervene to stop A-Se's rambling. Hu Rong realized A-Se wouldn't provide reliable information but believed there was a definite connection between him and Liu Ziguang, and that someone must know about Liu Ziguang's lost eight years. After the birthday party, Nie Wanfeng led Hou Sihai to his collection room.

Noticing Hou Sihai's fascination with an antique gun, Nie Wanfeng picked it up, aimed it at Hou Sihai's head, and chillingly questioned if he had orchestrated Chengcheng's kidnapping. Hou Sihai vehemently denied any involvement. Nie Wanfeng then fired the gun, shattering an antique vase, leaving Hou Sihai pale with fear. Back at the police station, Captain Han reported to Hu Yuejin that Officer Huang Jinguan was officially missing.

Colleagues noted Captain Han's persistent phone calls, suggesting a major case was unfolding, prompting Hu Rong's curiosity. She attempted to eavesdrop outside Captain Han's office window, but he quickly drew the blinds. Later, Liu Ziguang, Bei Xiaoshuai, and Zhuo Li visited Mr. Guo. Bei Xiaoshuai observed a similar fruit basket in the room, and Mr. Guo mentioned Hu Rong's earlier visit.

Bei Xiaoshuai encouraged Liu Ziguang to make an effort with Hu Rong, impressed by her visiting Mr. Guo despite their earlier spat. The next day at work, Hu Rong was embarrassed to find a flower basket and a love letter addressed to her. Suspecting Liu Ziguang, she called him to accuse him. Liu Ziguang, genuinely surprised, agreed to meet her in an hour to explain.

Meanwhile, a group led by Qi Ge arrived at "Truly Authentic" to collect a debt from Li Jianguo, who requested more time due to financial difficulties. When Qi Ge's men began smashing the shop, Liu Ziguang intervened, shattering a table they tried to use as a weapon. Li Jianguo quickly de-escalated the situation, promising to sell the shop soon to repay his debt, and Qi Ge's group departed. Moments later, Hu Rong arrived.

Liu Ziguang explained to her that Bei Xiaoshuai, not he, had sent the flowers in his name. Later that night, Tiger infiltrated the hospital to covertly retrieve Liu Ziguang's medical records. He reported his findings to Nie Wanfeng, confirming Liu Ziguang's amnesia. Nie Wanfeng, secretly pleased by the news, decided it was time to formally make contact with Liu Ziguang.
