Age of Legends Episode 47 (Ending) Recap
> Age of Legends Recap
The fierce gunfight at the drug base intensified. Hu Rong, caught in the crossfire, sustained a gunshot wound to her shoulder and collapsed. As drug dealers advanced, a new round of rapid gunfire erupted, signaling the arrival of Han Jin and his team. Han Jin immediately rushed to Hu Rong's side, asking if she was alright and offering her his bulletproof vest, urging her to be careful.
As police officers cleared the battlefield, Liu Ziguang, having been in the thick of the fight, identified himself to prevent friendly fire, shouting, "Don't shoot! I’m Liu Ziguang!" Liu Ziguang then spotted Nie Wanfeng firing from a distance and quickly pulled Hu Rong out of the line of fire. Tragically, Han Jin was hit by Nie Wanfeng's bullet, collapsing and spitting blood.
Hu Rong rushed to Captain Han, desperately trying to staunch the blood flow, but she could feel his life slipping away. With his last breaths, Han Jin softly addressed Hu Rong, telling her he was going to meet his teacher and questioning if he was finally worthy of calling him "Teacher." Hu Rong, heartbroken, confirmed he was, as tears streamed down her face. Liu Ziguang, seizing a weapon, relentlessly pursued Nie Wanfeng.
He cornered Nie Wanfeng, who was using a hostage as a shield. Nie Wanfeng ordered Liu Ziguang to drop his gun and sit at a nearby table, dismissing the hostage. Nie Wanfeng, his voice seething with anger, interrogated Liu Ziguang, demanding to know why he had been deceived. He raged that his "best buddy" was a police informant, leaving him with nothing, his life's wealth gone, a penniless fugitive hunted by the police.
He exclaimed that Liu Ziguang was "truly incredible" and threatened to kill him. After his outburst, Nie Wanfeng's tone shifted, becoming mournful. He lowered his submachine gun and asked Liu Ziguang if he remembered why he had lured him to this rooftop. It was the place where they first arrived in M Country and became sworn brothers, vowing to "share blessings and misfortunes together."
He expressed regret for not having added "but ask to die in the same year and month," musing that it would be "quite good to die by the hands of one's own buddy." Nie Wanfeng then stated that because of Liu Ziguang, he had lost everything—his money and his comrades. He then challenged Liu Ziguang, acknowledging his skill with guns, to "play it one last time," gesturing to two disassembled handguns on the table.
Nie Wanfeng threw a beer bottle, and as it exploded on the ground, both men frantically assembled their pistols. Liu Ziguang proved quicker, completing his weapon first and aiming it directly at Nie Wanfeng's forehead. Nie Wanfeng, with a contorted face, repeatedly dared Liu Ziguang to kill him. A pained expression crossed Liu Ziguang's face as he fired several shots deliberately "beside" Nie Wanfeng. Liu Ziguang then revealed the black gold account password: "31415926."
He explained that "314" was Nie Wanfeng's birthday, "926" was his own birthday, and "15" was the date they became sworn brothers that year. Nie Wanfeng again pleaded, "Kill me!" but Liu Ziguang calmly stated he would not. He asserted that the law would punish Nie Wanfeng, adding that he would not "go the same way as the devil."
Nie Wanfeng, desperate, cried out that letting him live was worse than death and announced he would die before Liu Ziguang's eyes, raising his gun to commit suicide. However, Hu Rong arrived just in time, firing a precise shot that knocked the gun from Nie Wanfeng's hand. Police sirens blared, and Nie Wanfeng was swiftly apprehended. On the rooftop, Hu Yuejin asked Liu Ziguang if he had any evidence to prove his identity as Officer Zhenwu's informant.
Liu Ziguang confirmed he did, revealing the existence of a secret room hidden behind the wine cabinet in the bistro. He explained that he had used this concealed room, known only to him and Officer Huang (Zhenwu), to transmit crucial intelligence about the drug lords' offshore gathering to Interpol. Hu Yuejin and Hu Rong then entered the secret room.
Inside, they were astonished to find the walls adorned with photos of Hu Rong, spanning from her childhood to the present, all sent by Liu Ziguang to her father. Liu Ziguang remarked on the collection, noting that it was a pity there were no photos of them together. Hu Rong activated a worn computer on a desk, which played a pre-recorded video message from her father, Officer Zhenwu.
In the emotional video, Officer Zhenwu addressed his daughter, stating that by the time she saw it, he would be gone. He introduced Liu Ziguang as an "upright and courageous" informant he had personally trained, who had infiltrated the drug cartel to provide him with intelligence.
He explained that due to the complex nature of M Country police relations and to ensure Liu Ziguang's safety, he had not fully reported Liu Ziguang's background to the organization, thus his identity as an informant was unknown. Officer Zhenwu urged Hu Rong to convey Liu Ziguang's situation to the organization and to protect this "nameless brave hero."
He shared that despite carrying out his mission alone since Hu Rong's birth, he never felt lonely because looking at her photos daily made him feel she was always with him, fighting by his side. The most painful regret, he confessed, was not being able to acknowledge her as his daughter, hear her call him "Father," or hug her. He apologized but expressed confidence that she, as his daughter and a cop, would understand his choice.
He assured her he had "never left her, not even for one second," and concluded with "I love you." Overwhelmed with emotion, Hu Rong finally understood that Liu Ziguang was innocent of her father's death. She rushed downstairs to Liu Ziguang, embracing him tightly. The collaborative efforts of Chinese and M Country police successfully dismantled the "Angel" cross-border drug operation, along with solving the murder of Hou Sihai.
In recognition of his bravery and sacrifice, Han Jin was posthumously honored as a martyr and awarded a first-class merit. Back in Jiangbei, Liu Ziguang and Hu Rong began making plans for their wedding. They chose to take their wedding photos at the very beach where Liu Ziguang had been rescued years ago. While getting ready, Liu Ziguang unexpectedly insisted on including the doctor and nurse who had saved him in their photos.
He had earlier returned the 500 yuan the doctor had given him when he was found, explaining that after being thrown overboard by Tony, he drifted for days before washing ashore. The doctor not only saved his life but also provided him with money to return to Jiangbei. The nurse had even trimmed his hair for him.
Hu Rong playfully feigned annoyance, asking, "This is the first time I'm getting married and we're taking wedding pictures with four people from inside? There's a doctor and even a nurse." She jokingly asked if he didn't want to marry her, to which Liu Ziguang quickly reassured her that wasn't the case. Seeing his earnestness, Hu Rong smiled, realizing her husband valued friendship above all else, and confirmed she wasn't truly angry.
Hu Rong then extended her right hand to Liu Ziguang, who understood the gesture. He knelt on one knee, took out a ring, and asked if she knew what he was gifting her. Just as he was about to place it on her finger, Hu Rong's phone rang with a call from Hu Yuejin. After a brief conversation, she informed Liu Ziguang she had an urgent mission and had to leave immediately, describing it as a secret.
Liu Ziguang, dismayed, asked about their wedding ceremony, to which Hu Rong replied they would have to postpone it. With a quick kiss on his cheek, Hu Rong, still in her wedding dress, hurried off, leaving Liu Ziguang kneeling with the ring, a look of utter dejection on his face. One month later, Hu Rong, undercover, boarded a private jet with a man identified as Mr. Zhang.
She was greeted by a flight attendant who informed Mr. Zhang about an air traffic control delay. As she settled in, she noticed one of the cabin staff, who offered her dessert, was Liu Ziguang, disguised for the same mission. He offered her champagne, which she politely declined, stating she was staff and couldn't drink. He then offered her dessert instead.
