Liu Ziguang rushed Hu Rong to the hospital’s emergency room. A nurse emerged, stating that Hu Rong had lost a lot of blood and they lacked enough AB blood type in storage, requiring a donor. Liu Ziguang immediately stepped forward, confirming he has AB blood and offering to donate. He then placed a small bell in Hu Rong’s hand as she was taken into the operating room.
After the successful transfusion, the doctor announced that Hu Rong was saved, crediting Liu Ziguang's timely blood donation. Meanwhile, it was reported that the drug trafficker Tony had passed away due to his injuries. Shortly after, Li Wan met with Bei Xiaoshuai to inform him that she was going overseas and wanted to say her goodbyes to everyone. She asked Bei Xiaoshuai to relay her farewells to Liu Ziguang and Hu Rong upon their safe return.
Bei Xiaoshuai, feeling bittersweet, encouraged Li Wan to take good care of herself while abroad. In the interrogation room, Han Jin pressed Lisa for information, revealing that Mei Jie had already confessed everything. He warned Lisa that remaining silent would not benefit her. Lisa, however, remained defiant, stating that she was doomed either way. After Han Jin clarified that it wasn't the same, she agreed to chat with him, and later flirtatiously called him "Handsome Guy."
She admitted to dealing drugs since 2010 and confirmed Tony was her ex-boyfriend and business partner. Lisa disclosed that she had supplied Hou Sihai with a small quantity of goods, but most of her stock was managed by Mei Jie at Golden Glory. When asked about her drug source, Lisa coyly deflected. She claimed not to know Sangbo, a secretive drug lord, but hinted that Tony knew him well and that Sangbo was currently in Jiangbei.
Lisa then provocatively questioned how Tony, who spent years in T Country, came to know Liu Ziguang. She recounted hearing Tony loudly ask Liu Ziguang what he was doing there, after Liu Ziguang's sunglasses fell off on the bus. Later, Zhuo Li held a bouquet of flowers, intending to confess his feelings to Wen Xiaoxue after her shift. Earlier, at the boxing gym, Bei Xiaoshuai had encouraged a despondent Zhuo Li to confess to Wen Xiaoxue.
Bei Xiaoshuai, acting as a love expert, coached Zhuo Li on how to approach her, emphasizing confidence and a gentle approach, even having a junior member, A-Se, act as Wen Xiaoxue for practice. Following this advice, Zhuo Li waited for Wen Xiaoxue. When she arrived, he nervously confessed his long-standing affection and asked her to be his girlfriend.
Wen Xiaoxue, with a pained expression, gently declined, stating it wasn't his fault but hers, and that they shouldn't see each other again. Zhuo Li was left heartbroken, feeling like a failure. Meanwhile, Liu Ziguang left Hu Rong’s hospital room to buy food for Hu Yuejin, who had been by Hu Rong’s side all night. Shortly after Liu Ziguang left, Hu Rong regained consciousness. Seeing her father, she immediately asked for Liu Ziguang, fearing he had died.
Hu Yuejin reassured her that Liu Ziguang was just buying food and showed her the bell Liu Ziguang had placed in her hand. Liu Ziguang soon returned, and Hu Rong expressed her relief at seeing him. Hu Yuejin received an urgent call requiring him to return to the police station, entrusting Liu Ziguang with Hu Rong's care. Back at the boxing gym, Bei Xiaoshuai found Zhuo Li still dejected after his failed confession.
Zhuo Li lamented that Wen Xiaoxue didn't accept his flowers or his feelings, believing they were incompatible. Bei Xiaoshuai offered a different perspective, suggesting that Wen Xiaoxue's gentle refusal implied she had a hidden difficulty rather than a genuine dislike, leaving room for hope. Separately, Hu Yuejin met with Director Song and Han Jin. Director Song informed Hu Yuejin that new intelligence from interrogations, including those of Mei Jie and Lisa, suggested Sangbo was likely hiding in Jiangbei.
Han Jin then showed Hu Yuejin surveillance footage from the tourist bus. He explained that while there was no audio, lip-reading experts confirmed Tony had said to Liu Ziguang, "Why are you here?" This indicated a prior connection between Tony and Liu Ziguang. Hu Yuejin instructed Han Jin to thoroughly investigate these suspicious points. Later, Bei Xiaoshuai sought out Wen Xiaoxue to understand her reasons.
He directly asked why she rejected Zhuo Li, questioning if it was because of his shortcomings. Wen Xiaoxue clarified that she genuinely liked Zhuo Li, but her family's complicated situation—her father's significant debts and her mother's severe illness—prevented her from pursuing a relationship, as she didn't want to burden him. Understanding her predicament, Bei Xiaoshuai offered her a job at Truly Authentic, framing it as a legitimate hiring opportunity due to increased business, and she readily accepted.
Returning home, Bei Xiaoshuai shared the details with Zhuo Li, explaining that Wen Xiaoxue harbored feelings for him but was unwilling to burden him with her family's problems. Overwhelmed with emotion, Zhuo Li instinctively reached for his bank card, wanting to offer her financial help. Bei Xiaoshuai stopped him, explaining that giving money would humiliate a strong-minded girl like Wen Xiaoxue.
Instead, he proposed bringing her to work at Truly Authentic, where they could secretly pay her double wages and also create opportunities for them to spend more time together. Zhuo Li was overjoyed by this thoughtful plan. Hu Yuejin and Han Jin visited Hu Rong at the hospital and then called Liu Ziguang aside to question him about his encounter with Tony on the bus.
Liu Ziguang stated that he didn't know Tony but that Tony seemed to recognize him and wanted to kill him. He also revealed that he had dreamt of fiercely fighting Tony the previous night. Hu Yuejin hypothesized that during Liu Ziguang's eight years of disappearance, he might have had an encounter with Tony, and Tony's gunfire could have stimulated a repressed memory.
Hu Yuejin instructed Han Jin to investigate Liu Ziguang's past in T Country, asking the T Country police for any clues. Liu Ziguang returned to Hu Rong’s room. Hu Rong inquired about the wooden sign he had written for her. Liu Ziguang explained that after she went missing, he retrieved it from the amusement park as a memento, hoping to remember her by it if he never found her again.
Hu Rong shared that she understood the sign's meaning: “In this world, you like three things: sunrise, sunset, and me.” She suggested they return the sign to the amusement park together after her discharge, believing it would protect them there. Meanwhile, Tiger reported to Nie Wanfeng that Golden Glory had been raided, Mei Jie and Lisa were arrested, and Tony was dead. He also mentioned that Tony had recognized Liu Ziguang and engaged in a violent struggle with him.
Nie Wanfeng, unfazed, noted that Tony's perception of Liu Ziguang as Sangbo perfectly aligned with the police's intelligence that Sangbo was in Jiangbei. Satisfied that his true identity remained hidden, he instructed Tiger to simply keep a close watch on Liu Ziguang. Later, Liu Ziguang was startled awake from a dream where he was fiercely fighting Tony. Hu Rong comforted him, reminding him that Tony was already dead.
