Bei Xiaoshuai and Tang Xin were discussing their relationship and financial situation. Tang Xin had initially expressed a desire to marry him, likely assuming he was well-off.

However, upon learning that he had no savings, having spent it all buying presents for her, that he was unemployed, rented a house, and had lost his car gambling (though he promised not to gamble after marriage), and that he had a family to support, she became angry, stating she wouldn't marry him and that she had "dodged another bullet."

After settling his bill, Bei Xiaoshuai was about to return to Jiangbei when he unexpectedly spotted someone he believed to be Hu Rong (referred to as Xiao Hong) at the Golden Glory resort in Jiangnan. He immediately called Liu Ziguang, telling him, "Brother Guang, I think I saw Xiao Hong," and confirmed she was at Golden Glory in Jiangnan, asking if Liu Ziguang wanted to come over.

Meanwhile, Hu Rong followed Mei Jie's instructions to retrieve an item from the parking lot. Han Jin and Director Hu Yuejin observed from a hidden vantage point. In the parking lot, Hu Rong retrieved the item but was suddenly ambushed by a group of thugs attempting to snatch it. Hu Rong quickly secured the item in her bag and held it tightly as the thugs kicked and beat her.

Watching the distressing scene on video, Han Jin was distraught and urged his colleagues to intervene. However, Director Hu Yuejin believed this was a deliberate test from Mei Jie, cautioning that any rash action would expose Hu Rong's cover and jeopardize their entire operation. Despite the beating, Hu Rong persevered, biting one of her attackers, and eventually managed to escape by running towards a passage when the thugs were distracted.

Later, Hu Rong returned the retrieved item, which turned out to be just a pile of newspapers, to Mei Jie. Mei Jie confirmed to Hu Rong that she had passed the test. Mei Jie then gave Hu Rong a bank card containing ¥100,000 to pay off her father's gambling debts, with the pin being Hu Rong's birthday. Hu Rong accepted the card, expressing her gratitude and promising to take her job seriously and maintain strict secrecy.

Mei Jie sternly warned her that disclosing any information about Golden Glory to outsiders or acting disadvantageously towards the resort would not be tolerated. Liu Ziguang, accompanied by Bei Xiaoshuai, arrived at Golden Glory. After some time, Hu Rong eventually emerged from the building. Upon seeing Liu Ziguang from afar, she quickly fled to an underground passage to avoid being recognized, locking a door behind her.

Liu Ziguang pursued her, calling out her name and expressing his deep longing through the closed door. He recounted searching for her like a crazy man after she disappeared and described the pain of losing someone. He dismissed Han Jin's claim that she no longer loved him, reaffirming his certainty in her love and declaring, "My world only has you. Only you." He asked her to protect herself well, finally saying, "I love you."

Behind the locked door, Hu Rong wept silently, her emotions in turmoil. Back in Jiangbei, Bei Xiaoshuai attempted to convince Liu Ziguang that the woman they saw was not Hu Rong, suggesting she was likely overseas training. He also argued that Hu Rong was on an extremely dangerous assignment and didn't want him involved, hence he shouldn't go. However, Liu Ziguang was resolute in his decision to go to Jiangnan to help her, making arrangements for Zhuo Li's return.

He instructed Bei Xiaoshuai to take care of Uncle Guo and watch over A-Se, noting that A-Se had some problems, and asked him not to reveal his plan. That evening, Hu Rong called Captain Cao to inform him about Liu Ziguang's arrival at Golden Glory. Captain Cao, recognizing the serious implications, immediately contacted Han Jin.

The next morning, Han Jin drove to the barbecue stand looking for Liu Ziguang but was met by Bei Xiaoshuai, who vaguely stated that Liu Ziguang had gone away to relax and travel. Han Jin, however, correctly inferred that Liu Ziguang had gone to Jiangnan to find Hu Rong. Indeed, Liu Ziguang had successfully applied for a job as a security guard at Golden Glory.

On his first day, he encountered Hu Rong, who was working, maintaining a poker face as if he did not recognize her. Hu Rong, shocked to see him, later sent him a message arranging to meet in the alley by the hotel's pipes that night. At their meeting, they embraced tightly and shared a passionate kiss.

Hu Rong asked him why he had come, and Liu Ziguang responded by questioning why she was allowed to be an attendant there but he couldn't be a security guard, then declared that in his heart, she was the one he wanted to protect forever. Hu Rong was enchanted by his words. News of Liu Ziguang's presence at Golden Glory quickly reached Director Hu Yuejin and Director Song.

They were gravely concerned that his emotional involvement and lack of proper training could inadvertently expose Hu Rong's identity and endanger her life. Han Jin was tasked with compelling Liu Ziguang to leave. Han Jin called Liu Ziguang, ordering him to withdraw from Golden Glory and arranging a meeting. However, Liu Ziguang flatly refused, asserting that since he had chosen this path, he would not turn back, and then ended the call.

Meanwhile, Nie Wanfeng received intelligence revealing that the bar owner Liu Ziguang had shot in M Country was, in fact, Hu Rong's biological father. This shocking discovery led Nie Wanfeng to question whether Liu Ziguang's amnesia was genuine or merely a clever facade to conceal his past actions and gain a heroic image. He acknowledged that he had truly underestimated Liu Ziguang.

Back at Golden Glory, Hu Rong was serving Mei Jie coffee when she overheard Xiao Fei struggling to fix a computer that had crashed. Mei Jie, frustrated with Xiao Fei's incompetence and drug-induced issues, berated him. Hu Rong interjected, first suggesting Xiao Fei's approach was flawed, and then mentioning that she had previously studied computer science at a vocational college but dropped out due to family debts.

Mei Jie, seeing an opportunity, dismissed Xiao Fei and assigned Hu Rong the task of fixing the computer and recovering important files. As Hu Rong intently worked on the computer, Xiao Fei and Mei Jie monitored her from an adjacent room via their phones. They initially suspected she was attempting to copy data, but their fears were assuaged when she answered a phone call from her father.

Director Hu Yuejin, however, received a report that Hu Rong had successfully established a link with the Public Security Bureau, enabling them to bypass the firewall and receive data packets within twenty minutes. Hu Rong realized Mei Jie's actions were a deliberate test and that Mei Jie intended for her to delete the data packet. While outwardly complying, Hu Rong covertly managed to transmit the data packet.

The police quickly decoded it, revealing transaction records between Golden Glory and the Tiger Group, which significantly energized Director Hu Yuejin and Director Song. Later, in the underground garage, Liu Ziguang encountered a drug-addicted Xiao Fei, who stumbled from his car, accidentally spilling "Angel" drugs. Liu Ziguang immediately recognized the drug, raising his suspicions. He subsequently found Xiao Fei in a secluded area suffering from withdrawal and provided him with aid.

Hu Rong and Liu Ziguang had another meeting in the pipe room. Liu Ziguang told her about saving Xiao Fei during his drug relapse. Hu Rong urged Liu Ziguang to leave the perilous Golden Glory, but he was steadfast in his commitment to stay and protect her as an undercover agent. Hu Rong expressed her concern that the exposure of their relationship would inevitably lead to the mission's failure.

That night, in his dorm, Liu Ziguang was plagued by fragmented, disturbing images, particularly the familiarity of the "Angel" drug. He intensely questioned his unknown eight-year past, feeling a strong urge to uncover the truth. He grappled with the decision of whether to remain at Golden Glory or to leave. Hu Rong later saw Liu Ziguang again at Golden Glory and requested leave from Mei Jie, claiming she needed to go home.

Upon Hu Rong's arrival home, Han Jin was waiting for her. He immediately demanded that Liu Ziguang withdraw from Golden Glory. Worried that Liu Ziguang would not heed his words, Han Jin then sought Hu Rong's assistance in convincing him. During a break at the staff dormitory, Liu Ziguang, driven by curiosity, inquired about Xiao Fei from his colleagues, who seemed unwilling to discuss the matter.

Suddenly, a sullen Xiao Fei appeared at the doorway, confronting Liu Ziguang about his inquiries and motives. Xiao Fei angrily offered Liu Ziguang ¥10,000 in an envelope as a reward for his previous help. Liu Ziguang refused the money and urged Xiao Fei to quit drugs. When Xiao Fei attempted to throw the money at him, Liu Ziguang seized his arm and stated firmly that he intended to help him overcome his addiction.

Xiao Fei, however, remained unreceptive to his help. Hu Rong arranged to meet Liu Ziguang in the restroom, but was surprised to find Han Jin waiting there instead. Han Jin sternly warned Liu Ziguang against interfering with police operations, emphasizing the severe repercussions if he compromised the mission. Liu Ziguang, standing his ground, asserted that he could act as an undercover agent to protect Hu Rong, which, he pointed out, was precisely Han Jin's initial objective. Han Jin, left with no other option, could only advise Liu Ziguang to take care of himself and adhere to police directives.
