> Age of Legends Recap

At the police station, colleagues chat as Little Li distributes wedding candies, inviting everyone to her wedding. They playfully tease Hu Rong about finding a boyfriend, debating whether Captain Han Jin or Liu Ziguang is a better choice. While some praise Han Jin's responsibility and thoughtfulness, others, including Hu Rong, find Liu Ziguang more handsome and manly. Han Jin himself then walks in and confidently declares himself more attractive, prompting Hu Rong to label him "shameless."

Meanwhile, Liu Ziguang, Zhuo Li, and Bei Xiaoshuai are at the newly acquired Sunshine Sand Quarry. Zhuo Li feels guilty for involving Liu Ziguang in the conflict with Hou Sihai, but Liu Ziguang reassures him, stating the rivalry is his own and that they will face any challenges together, solidifying their brotherhood. The Sunshine Sand Quarry officially opens, and news of Liu Ziguang's direct challenge to Hou Sihai’s monopoly quickly spreads across Jiangbei.

Hu Rong, hearing of this, expresses concern that Liu Ziguang might have completely provoked Hou Sihai, noting his tendency to act without considering the repercussions. Sun Wei reports to Hou Sihai about Liu Ziguang’s sand quarry. Hou Sihai confidently asserts that Li Wan of Zhicheng Corporation will defy expectations and purchase sand from Liu Ziguang, explaining that Zhicheng has been overpaying by ¥2,000,000 annually due to Mr. Yin’s collusion with him. He anticipates an internal power struggle at Zhicheng.

Later, Sun Wei visits Mr. Yin on Hou Sihai’s behalf to discuss renewing their contract. Mr. Yin assures him that Li Wan, whom he dismisses as an "ornament," holds no real power and that the Board of Directors will ultimately side with him. Li Wan attends the grand opening of Liu Ziguang’s Sunshine Sand Quarry, presenting him with Zhicheng Corporation’s sand purchasing contract as a "big gift."

Liu Ziguang initially hesitates, not wanting to implicate her, but Li Wan insists, explaining that she already offended Hou Sihai during a previous trip and that this move is essential to establish her authority against Mr. Yin, whom she feels makes her look like a mere figurehead. Later, when Liu Ziguang accompanies Li Wan to Zhicheng for the contract signing, Mr. Yin confronts them, pushing for the renewal of Hou Sihai's contract instead.

Li Wan firmly states her intention to collaborate with Sunshine Sand Quarry, citing its high-quality sand, and demands Mr. Yin’s signature on their new contract. She even pledges to personally cover any breach fees if Liu Ziguang fails to meet supply demands, thereby backing him up. Mr. Yin vehemently opposes, accusing Li Wan of jeopardizing the company and reminding her that such procurement decisions require a Board vote.

Li Wan retorts that Zhicheng overpays for Hou Sihai’s sand and declares her determination to break his monopoly. Unyielding, Mr. Yin proposes they settle the matter at a board meeting, a challenge Li Wan accepts. While on duty, Hu Rong receives a video message from Li Wan featuring her and Liu Ziguang on a sand carrier, accompanied by a caption telling Hu Rong not to interfere with "the blissful lives of Handsome Brother Guang and I."

Hu Rong dismisses it as "meaningless," her jealousy evident. At the subsequent Zhicheng Board meeting, Mr. Yin presents both sand suppliers for a vote. Despite Li Wan’s passionate appeal for Liu Ziguang’s company, not a single director supports her proposal, leaving her visibly furious, while Mr. Yin grins triumphantly. At his villa, Nie Wanfeng explains his strategic moves to Brother Hu.

He instigated the rivalry between Liu Ziguang and Hou Sihai as a calculated warning to Hou Sihai, who has been exploiting his sand transport-line to demand larger profit shares from Nie Wanfeng's illicit operations. Nie Wanfeng intends to leverage Liu Ziguang to dismantle Hou Sihai's monopoly, eventually bringing Liu Ziguang under his control to establish his own independent transportation network.

He reveals that his act of repaying Liu Ziguang's friend's ¥1,000,000 debt was a clear message to Hou Sihai that Liu Ziguang has his backing, thereby asserting his dominance over Hou Sihai, whom he considers "too soft" to challenge him. Following the unsuccessful board meeting, Li Wan, Liu Ziguang, and Li Jianguo discuss their next steps. Li Wan laments the directors' collusion with Mr. Yin.

Li Wan’s assistant, Ziqian, reports that despite extensive checks, Mr. Yin has no scandalous past or financial irregularities. Liu Ziguang remains suspicious, suggesting they investigate Mr. Yin’s past employment. Li Wan mentions her father recruited Mr. Yin from America, and Li Jianguo adds that Mr. Yin claimed to work for JP Morgan Chase. Liu Ziguang requests Mr. Yin’s resume, suspecting it may be falsified.

Liu Ziguang also warns Li Wan about suspicious individuals tailing them, whom he believes are Hou Sihai's men. Li Wan, however, insists on visiting the Riverbank Estate construction site the next day, confident with Liu Ziguang and Li Jianguo accompanying her. Liu Ziguang volunteers to stay overnight and join her.

The next day, as Li Wan, Liu Ziguang, and Li Jianguo inspect the Zhicheng construction site—where Mr. Yin is conspicuously absent—a barrel of cement falls from a high floor, narrowly missing Li Wan. Liu Ziguang quickly pulls her to safety, while Li Jianguo tackles the manager away from harm. Police later confirm the incident was deliberate, based on reports of unusual noises and someone fleeing the scene. Hu Rong and her team arrive at the scene.

Seeing Liu Ziguang comforting Li Wan, Hu Rong feels a pang of jealousy. Li Wan immediately accuses Hou Sihai, but Hu Rong asks for concrete evidence. Liu Ziguang informs Hu Rong that no concrete was scheduled for the next two days, making the falling barrel highly suspicious. Hu Rong, seemingly irritated, sarcastically tells Liu Ziguang to go "look after" Li Wan and then takes his safety helmet, putting it on her own head as he leaves.

Meanwhile, Hou Sihai meets with Nie Wanfeng to confront him, directly questioning Nie Wanfeng’s involvement in Liu Ziguang's affairs, particularly the ¥1,000,000 debt payment. Nie Wanfeng claims he merely lent the money to Liu Ziguang as a favor for saving his son and asserts that Liu Ziguang is not "his man." Accepting this, Hou Sihai declares his intention to proceed with his plan to annex Liu Ziguang’s sand field.

Nie Wanfeng, however, warns Hou Sihai about increased police surveillance, subtly questioning the timing of his business expansion. At the construction site's monitoring room, Liu Ziguang and the supervisor review the surveillance footage, identifying a worker named Wang Biao as the person who tampered with the cement barrel. Hu Rong's team identifies Wang Biao's suspicious white Jinbei van.

Liu Ziguang attempts to follow Hu Rong, who is driving alone to apprehend Wang Biao, but she, still visibly jealous, tells him to stop bothering her and Li Wan. Undeterred, Liu Ziguang secretly hides in the trunk of Hu Rong's car. Together, they pursue and successfully apprehend Wang Biao.

During interrogation, Wang Biao takes full responsibility for his actions, claiming he disliked Li Wan and denying any connection to Hou Sihai, frustrating the police who suspect Hou Sihai is the mastermind. Li Wan attempts to convince the board again, recounting the cement barrel incident as Hou Sihai’s intimidation. Mr. Yin, however, counters by emphasizing that buying from Hou Sihai guarantees "safety and peace of mind," warning of dire consequences for worker safety and project timelines if further incidents occur.

He also confidently asserts that Wang Biao will not implicate Hou Sihai due to loyalty and ample compensation. Frustrated and angry by Wang Biao’s silence and the board’s refusal to cooperate, Li Wan seeks help from Liu Ziguang, who reiterates his suspicion about Mr. Yin's background. Liu Ziguang suggests investigating Mr. Yin’s old work records, specifically his claim of working for JP Morgan Chase, believing it could be his vulnerability. Following Liu Ziguang's suggestion, Li Jianguo investigates Mr. Yin's background.

He quickly uncovers that Mr. Yin falsified his work resume. Li Jianguo confronts Mr. Yin, revealing his findings and presenting him with Liu Ziguang's sand purchasing contract. Li Jianguo warns that if Mr. Yin refuses to sign, his falsified resume will be exposed at the next company meeting. Faced with this blackmail, Mr. Yin reluctantly agrees and is compelled to sign the contract for Liu Ziguang's sand.
