Age of Legends Episode 13 Recap
> Age of Legends Recap
As Scar cursed the mobile service company over the phone, Han Jing, impersonating a customer service representative, patiently tried to delay him while the police tech team worked to pinpoint his location. Scar, growing increasingly agitated, threatened to report the "idlers" in the office. Han Jing, feigning apologies for a "system error," assured Scar that his service was restored. After Scar hung up, his location was successfully traced.
Han Jing thanked Liu Ziguang for his clever idea, promising to buy him drinks after Scar's capture. Liu Ziguang, who doesn't drink alcohol, agreed to accept milk instead. Scar, unaware that he had been tricked, logged into an online game, immediately alerting Hu Rong, who had been waiting for him to appear. The police, led by Han Jing, quickly moved in on Scar's location in an apartment building. They raided the second floor, unit 201, and apprehended Scar.
Meanwhile, Nie Wanfeng received news from his subordinate that Scar had been arrested. He expressed annoyance, believing Hou Sihai had not genuinely put in the effort to find Scar. Nie Wanfeng suspected Hou Sihai merely wanted to demonstrate their dependence on him. Just then, Hou Sihai arrived at Nie Wanfeng's villa, feigning helplessness and blaming his incompetence.
Nie Wanfeng, concealing his true feelings, instructed Hou Sihai to immediately use his connections to determine if the police had found the drug "Angel," reminding him that they were "in the same boat." Hou Sihai reluctantly agreed. After Hou Sihai left, Nie Wanfeng's subordinate complained about Hou Sihai's arrogance.
Nie Wanfeng calmly stated that "someone will eventually get rid of him," revealing his belief that Liu Ziguang was the person for the job and that "the good show will start soon." The drugs seized from Scar were initially misidentified as Ecstasy by the lab, a result that Han Jing relayed to the team, thinking it was a minor case.
However, Hu Rong, recently discharged from the hospital, recognized the pills as "Angel" based on Interpol intelligence and insisted on retesting. The retest confirmed that the pills were indeed Angel with 80% purity. This critical discovery led to a joint meeting of the Jiangnan and Jiangbei anti-drug police. Director Song detailed the history of Angel, an advanced drug developed by Sangbo, the new head of Colby's drug cartel.
Interpol had been tracking Sangbo, but he had mysteriously disappeared during an open sea operation. Han Jing then presented the details of Scar's case, explaining that Scar (Jiang Dazhi) and Li Ge (a 20-year-old street dealer) operated a highly organized, well-hidden drug network using online games for distribution, with Angel secretly transported by water into Jiangbei City.
Hu Yuejin announced the formation of "Operation S," a special investigation team combining officers from the Criminal Police and Drug Enforcement teams, tasked with uncovering the entire drug network and specifically targeting Sangbo, with strict orders not to alert the other parties. After the meeting, Hu Yuejin and Han Jing discussed keeping the true nature of the Angel case from Hu Rong, believing her impulsive character would make things difficult.
Hu Rong, having overheard fragments of their conversation, pressed for details about their "mission." They skillfully deflected her questions, claiming they had merely been entertaining county hall officials. Later, Hu Yuejin invited Han Jing home for dinner, where Hu Rong's mother enthusiastically tried to set them up. Hu Rong, however, jokingly suggested that her parents wanted to adopt Han Jing as a godson, much to their dismay and Han Jing's embarrassment.
Just then, Han Jing received a call from Liu Ziguang, who invited him out for drinks. Hu Rong, feeling a bit down, decided to join them. At the Di Di Dao Dao restaurant, Liu Ziguang stuck to milk, while Han Jing ordered beer. Li Wan soon arrived uninvited, immediately making a beeline for Liu Ziguang, playfully wrapping her arm around him. Liu Ziguang subtly distanced himself.
When a beer bottle rolled under the table, both Liu Ziguang and Hu Rong instinctively bent down to pick it up, their eyes meeting. The moment triggered vivid flashbacks for both of them, recalling their initial fateful encounter in the elevator. As the evening progressed, Li Wan became heavily intoxicated and insisted Liu Ziguang drive her home, refusing to leave without him. Seeing Liu Ziguang lead Li Wan away, Hu Rong's expression faltered, a reaction Han Jing noticed with sadness.
At Li Wan's home, as Liu Ziguang prepared to leave, Li Wan tried to prevent him, claiming she was too drunk to be left alone. Liu Ziguang saw through her act, directly telling her to stop pretending. Li Wan then confessed her feelings for him, but Liu Ziguang gently rejected her.
She then insightfully asked if he liked Hu Rong, suggesting he either was afraid to admit it or unaware of his own feelings, pointing out the tender way he looked at Hu Rong compared to his cold demeanor towards her. Meanwhile, Nie Wanfeng learned from his subordinate that despite his orders to halt distribution, drug goods were still circulating.
His subordinate also reported that Hou Sihai had recently met with a wealthy female merchant from Jiangnan, the boss of Golden Glory Holiday Resorts, to discuss business. Nie Wanfeng ordered an immediate and thorough background check on this woman. His subordinate also mentioned that Liu Ziguang had helped the police arrest Scar and seemed very close to Hu Rong.
As Hou Sihai found Liu Ziguang difficult to control, he manipulatively decided to target Liu Ziguang's friends to teach him a lesson, recognizing that Liu Ziguang's loyalty to his friends was his greatest weakness. Following Hou Sihai's manipulative strategy, Bei Xiaoshuai, who had been spending lavishly on a social media influencer girlfriend, was lured into an illegal gambling den. He quickly accrued a massive gambling debt.
Zhuo Li, noticing Bei Xiaoshuai's unusual behavior, discovered he was siphoning money from Di Di Dao Dao and calling his mother for funds, but kept it secret out of loyalty. Eventually, Bei Xiaoshuai disappeared. When debt collectors from Hou Sihai's gambling den arrived at Di Di Dao Dao demanding ¥1,000,000, Zhuo Li was forced to reveal Bei Xiaoshuai's plight to Liu Ziguang.
Liu Ziguang, confronted with Bei Xiaoshuai's signed promissory note for ¥1,000,000, immediately declared he would pay the debt on Bei Xiaoshuai's behalf. Unexpectedly, Tiger, one of Nie Wanfeng's men, arrived with ¥1,000,000 in cash, stating that Nie Wanfeng was settling the debt as Liu Ziguang had previously saved his son's life. Tiger instructed the debt collectors to take the money and return the IOU, emphasizing that Nie Wanfeng was simply repaying a favor and not interfering in their other disputes.
The collectors, though surprised by Nie Wanfeng's involvement, accepted the money. Liu Ziguang, acknowledging the favor, promised Tiger he would repay Nie Wanfeng as soon as possible. Liu Ziguang found Bei Xiaoshuai in despair, attempting to hang himself. Liu Ziguang intervened just in time, pulling him down. Disappointed and pained, Liu Ziguang couldn't help but beat Bei Xiaoshuai, telling him that he always treated Bei Xiaoshuai like a younger brother, but Bei Xiaoshuai never treated him as an older brother.
Bei Xiaoshuai, crying hysterically, questioned why he was stopped and despaired over his ¥1,000,000 debt. Liu Ziguang then took Bei Xiaoshuai to the police station to report the gambling den. Hu Rong suggested a 15-day detention for Bei Xiaoshuai, which Liu Ziguang agreed to, believing it would help Bei Xiaoshuai calm down. Following the leads, the police quickly raided and shut down the underground gambling den.
Liu Ziguang visited Nie Wanfeng to express his gratitude and offer a promissory note for the ¥1,000,000. Nie Wanfeng, however, feigned anger and insisted that if Liu Ziguang considered him a friend, he shouldn't rush to repay the money. As Nie Wanfeng walked Liu Ziguang out, he warned him about Hou Sihai's ruthless nature and advised him to be cautious.
Later, Nie Wanfeng confided in Tiger, who worried that Liu Ziguang, being an amnesiac without support in Jiangbei, might not be able to contend with Hou Sihai. Nie Wanfeng calmly replied that Tiger simply didn't understand Liu Ziguang's true capabilities. Bei Xiaoshuai's father rushed to Di Di Dao Dao, distraught, explaining that Hou Sihai was aggressively targeting his sand quarry. Liu Ziguang understood this was Hou Sihai's retaliation for the raid on his gambling den.
Recognizing the imminent conflict, Liu Ziguang promptly resigned from his position as security director at the company, recommending Li Jianguo, a former special forces soldier, as his successor. Li Wan, skeptical, challenged Li Jianguo with a combat expert, but Li Jianguo effortlessly defeated the challenger. Li Wan reluctantly agreed to appoint Li Jianguo as security director for a one-month trial. Liu Ziguang then announced his intention to take over the management of Bei family's sand quarry.
Li Jianguo warned him that this move would cut off Hou Sihai's revenue stream and that Hou Sihai would not tolerate it. Liu Ziguang, resolute in his decision, declared the sand quarry must operate, having carefully considered the risks. Seeing Liu Ziguang's determination, Li Jianguo offered his unwavering support. When Bei Xiaoshuai was released from detention, Liu Ziguang and his friends were there to meet him.
Bei Xiaoshuai immediately received a frantic call from his father, urging him to rush to the sand quarry. Liu Ziguang and Bei Xiaoshuai arrived to find Monkey, Hou Sihai's subordinate, and his thugs intimidating Bei Xiaoshuai's father. Bei Xiaoshuai tried to intervene as his father was about to kneel, but Liu Ziguang stepped forward, fearlessly declaring that from that day forward, Hou Sihai would no longer be allowed to exploit and bully businesses in the area.
