She confronted them, yelling, "Su Nian Nian, what are you doing?" Su Nian Nian, flustered, pushed Gu Zi Chen away, attempting to explain. He Mei accused Su Nian Nian of pursuing Zi Chen despite knowing He Mei's feelings for him.
Gu Zi Chen stepped in, defending Su Nian Nian and telling He Mei that he had never agreed to her affection. He plainly stated, "Actually, I didn't feel that disgusted about you before. But if you keep going like this, I will hate you. He Mei, I only have Su Nian Nian in my heart. No room for anyone else. So let's not do this."
Enraged, He Mei called Gu Zi Chen "too much" and stormed off, vowing to speak to his mother. Gu Zi Chen, amused by her coy request, tightly embraced her. Su Nian Nian then mischievously shouted "Power outage!" making Gu Zi Chen jump, before revealing her trick. Meanwhile, a cunning He Mei arrived at Gu Zi Chen's house, feigning domesticity by offering to cook for Mrs. Gu.
While asking the housekeeper to follow a recipe on her phone, He Mei ensured Mrs. Gu would see the pictures of Gu Zi Chen and Su Nian Nian together stored on it. Seeing the images, Mrs. Gu was furious, realizing Gu Zi Chen had been spending time with Su Nian Nian instead of attending to school matters as he claimed.
After He Mei departed, Mrs. Gu called Secretary Liu, demanding to know about Gu Zi Chen's activities at school, especially why he didn't come home after his car accident. Caught between the family, Secretary Liu tried to pacify Mrs. Gu, assuring her that Gu Zi Chen's interest in school indicated a love for studying and that he had "good taste in every respect." Mrs. Gu, unconvinced, insisted that Secretary Liu immediately report any information about her son.
After the call, Secretary Liu sighed, feeling like he was caught in a "Mission Impossible" scenario. Later, Zhao Mingyuan reflected on his sister Xiao Jia's "mysterious tutor." He was grateful for Xiao Jia's significant academic improvement and newfound cheerfulness, though he still hadn't discovered the tutor's identity. Elsewhere, paparazzi Xiao Huang, seeking new gossip, went to Gu Zi Chen's dorm, only to find Ye Xing Yu.
Ye Xing Yu, tight-lipped, dismissed Xiao Huang, telling him Gu Zi Chen wasn't there and wouldn't provide any information even if he were. He joyfully hummed a tune on his way back to school, determined to earn more money to ensure Yin Chuxia wouldn't "lose face" at the dinner. Zhu Cheng, Chen Yuan, and Xiao Huang eventually found Ye Xing Yu on the rooftop, near the edge. Fearing he was contemplating suicide, they frantically called out his name.
Ye Xing Yu clarified he was merely seeking a quiet place to play his guitar and was not "that vulnerable," expressing gratitude for their concern which revealed "true friendship in adversity." Chen Yuan reminded him about his singing competition application, urging him to come down. Xiao Huang, believing he had a sensational scoop, quickly posted news about Ye Xing Yu being "lovesick."
When Ye Xing Yu returned to the dorm, he saw Xiao Huang's post, feeling awkward but assuring his friends he was fine. Gu Zi Chen soon arrived, finding Ye Xing Yu waiting outside because he had forgotten his key. The tension from Xiao Huang's post hung heavy between them. Gu Zi Chen, looking at Ye Xing Yu, directly addressed the situation: "I am with Nian Nian. I know you know. Still, I have to tell you in person. We're brothers after all.
