Unique Lady Season 3 Episode 9 Recap
> Unique Lady Season 3 Recap
Lin Luojing returned to the mansion and found Zhong Wumei sitting alone in the courtyard, drinking. She slowly approached him. Zhong Wumei broke the silence by commenting on the beautiful cherry blossoms, explaining that he came there to sit. Lin Luojing, feeling a hint of disappointment, offered to drink with him, declaring she would drink three cups to apologize for her past rudeness, impoliteness, for mistaking him for her beloved, and for deceiving him.
After downing three cups, Lin Luojing became visibly drunk. Zhong Wumei moved closer to support her and pressed her on her admission of mistaking him for her beloved, asking if everything she said before was a lie and if she was not his consort. Lin Luojing leaned on Zhong Wumei’s shoulder, smiling bitterly, and conceded that Wen Ru Yu looked more like the consort, didn't she?
She emphasized that she was merely an insignificant female doctor who had overstepped her bounds only because His Highness bore such a striking resemblance to her beloved. She also pleaded with Zhong Wumei not to blame Zhang Ji and the others, as they only helped her deceive him out of pity. Zhong Wumei then asked about her beloved's current whereabouts.
Lin Luojing sorrowfully admitted that she had lost him and had been unwilling to accept his departure, but now it was time for her to let go. Meanwhile, in another part of the mansion, Xiao Yu fell asleep while watching Zhong Wumei's medicine. Shan entered, chastising her as a useless and clumsy girl, telling her to leave and that she would handle the medicine. Xiao Yu, left with no choice, departed.
As she walked out, she encountered Wen Ru Yu, who was puzzled why Xiao Yu, usually in charge of Zhong Wumei’s medicine, was leaving. Wen Ru Yu mused that Lin Luojing's people were too careless. Wen Ru Yu then walked into the room and saw Shan adding something to the medicine. She immediately stopped Shan, demanding to know what it was, who gave it to her, and who ordered her to do it.
Shan confessed that it was King of Bei Yu's edict, explaining that only with this medicine would Zhong Wumei truly belong to Wen Ru Yu, an act she believed was necessary for Bei Yu. Wen Ru Yu was shocked to realize that Zhong Wumei's memory loss was caused by the medicine Shan had administered.
Shan continued, revealing that there were two doses, and if Zhong Wumei took the second dose today, Wen Ru Yu's position in the mansion would be secured. Wen Ru Yu rejected such methods, stating she would never resort to such things. Shan insisted that the medicine would only control Zhong Wumei, not harm him, and warned that if they did not act, Wen Ru Yu would lose her place in the mansion.
However, Wen Ru Yu remained steadfast, confident that she could, like Lin Luojing, genuinely move Zhong Wumei's heart, little by little. She declared she would take Zhong Wumei to see a doctor and did not need such powders to win his heart. Shan tried to dissuade her, but Wen Ru Yu had made up her mind. Back in the courtyard, Lin Luojing and Zhong Wumei were both heavily intoxicated.
Lin Luojing recounted stories of her beloved's heroic deeds, including a comical incident with bandits where his "childish" reaction made her nearly laugh. Zhong Wumei listened, smiling, and admitted to feeling envious, wishing he was the person in those stories. In their drunken state, they were overcome with emotion and kissed. Just then, Wen Ru Yu arrived to look for Zhong Wumei and witnessed the kiss. She turned and left, heartbroken.
A moment later, Lin Luojing came to her senses, pushed Zhong Wumei away, and fled. Zhong Wumei stood up, intending to follow, but a sudden headache overwhelmed him. He seemed to recall something, murmuring Lin Luojing’s intimate nickname in the direction she had run. Having seen the kiss, Wen Ru Yu was swayed by Shan’s arguments. She agreed to give Zhong Wumei the medicine and brought it to him.
However, Zhong Wumei, now having recovered his memories, secretly poured the medicine onto the ground when Wen Ru Yu turned away. Wen Ru Yu, unaware of this, expressed concern and asked how he felt. Lin Luojing was conflicted about whether to leave the mansion. Xiao Yu arrived to report that Zhong Wumei had a severe headache since early morning and asked her to come quickly.
Lin Luojing, worried, rushed over, only to find Wen Ru Yu and Zhong Wumei in an affectionate scene. Wen Ru Yu questioned Lin Luojing's medical skills, to which Lin Luojing retorted, accusing Wen Ru Yu of not properly supervising Zhong Wumei and allowing him to eat something harmful. Zhong Wumei became furious, declaring Lin Luojing audacious and disrespectful. He stated that while he might tolerate her slighting him, he would not allow her to speak to his consort without respect.
Lin Luojing, her eyes red, knelt down, declaring herself deeply guilty and announcing her intention to depart that day. Zhong Wumei was surprised. Wen Ru Yu accused Lin Luojing of threatening His Highness. Lin Luojing clarified that she intended to leave Sheng Jing with Prince Qi Yu, suggesting it would also resolve the trade issues between Qi Yu and Sheng Jing, implying it was a win-win situation.
Zhong Wumei then knelt down to her level, scoffing that she dared to threaten him. He told her she could leave if she wished, as he would not force her to stay. He then bitterly mocked her, calling her a criminal's daughter and an ill-bred girl lacking proper upbringing from her foster parents, stating her behavior was without manners. Lin Luojing, filled with both anger and grievance, stood up, pushed Zhong Wumei, and left.
As Lin Luojing prepared to leave the mansion with her bags, Xiao Yu brought her luggage, expressing sadness about her departure. Lin Luojing explained that she couldn't take Xiao Yu with her into an unknown and potentially dangerous future and urged her to stay in the mansion with Xi Que, where she would have someone to look out for her. She then resolved that the best way to get revenge on a "love rat" was to spend all his money.
Lin Luojing embarked on a shopping and eating spree, buying many new clothes and indulging in various delicacies. She lamented her past confinement in the mansion and how Zhong Wumei used to snatch her food. She announced her desire to eat to her heart's content. Later, at an opera house, she expressed boredom with traditional love stories like "The Butterfly Lovers," which she deemed "lies" that "fade away." She requested operas about women taking revenge on or abandoning men.
She hired the entire box, then continued drinking, feeling surprised her alcohol tolerance had increased due to her heartbreak. She complained the wine wasn't strong enough to get her drunk and ordered another bottle. Shan, observing from a distance, dismissed Lin Luojing’s behavior as indecent and degenerate, concluding that she would no longer pose a threat to Wen Ru Yu.
