Jiang Xuanyu confessed that his primary reason for being in Nan Yan, beyond business, was to assist Zhong Wumei in investigating the corrupt dealings of Lin Fei Yu, the Grand Chancellor.
Jiang Xuanyu recounted that he had discovered a crucial lead regarding Lin Fei Yu's conspiracy. When he arrived at the Tang Mansion, he hesitated to enter, fearing its connection to the conspiracy. As he was about to leave, Tang Father, pursued by men in black, stumbled out and collapsed into Jiang Xuanyu's arms. The assailants fled upon seeing Jiang Xuanyu.
