Thousand Years For You Episode 6 Recap
> Thousand Years For You Recap
When Lu Yan asked Dengdeng to remove her wedding dress, she hesitated for a moment but consented for the sake of the villagers, though she struggled with the buttons. Lu Yan stepped forward to help her, and as he did, Dengdeng felt her body move uncontrollably, realizing it was the wedding dress itself that was moving.
Lu Yan quickly used his powers to forcibly remove the dress, pinning it to the wall where it began to emit black smoke and change color. Just then, Dahai and Lv Er burst into the room, mistaking Lu Yan's actions for bullying Dengdeng, but Dengdeng quickly clarified that the wedding dress had problems. Lv Er noted its changed color and suspected it was absorbing human energy, a suspicion Lu Yan confirmed, stating that Dengdeng had been targeted.
Lu Yan explained that a Spirit Clan had drained the consciousness and essence from the affected villagers, poisoning them and causing them to age and lose their minds, turning them into monstrous figures. He stressed the urgency of finding and eliminating this Spirit Clan, warning that without intervention, the victims would succumb to their illness within a day.
Dengdeng remembered that while no one had touched her wedding dress, everyone who fell ill had touched a specific type of waist towel. Lv Er then recalled receiving such a waist towel from Mr. Bu. Dengdeng, having worn the wedding dress all day, wondered why she hadn't transformed like those who only wore the waist towels.
Lu Yan then removed a hairpin from her hair, revealing a lock of white hair, explaining that the hairpin had absorbed most of the Spirit Clan's attacks, but she was still affected. Despite her inner panic, Dengdeng bravely assured everyone that she and Lu Yan would apprehend the monster within a day and restore her beauty.
Lu Yan, however, knew the true stakes; if the Spirit Clan wasn't dealt with swiftly, Dengdeng would age to death, and Yunxi's spirit would dissipate. He immediately dispatched Xin to mobilize his informers to locate the Spirit Clan. As Lu Yan and Dengdeng set out on horseback, they encountered Gu Beixi, who insisted on joining them.
He expressed his disdain for staying in the stronghold with the "old men" and offered the assistance of his own men to protect Qingquan Stronghold. Dengdeng, concerned that he might cause trouble if left unsupervised, agreed to let him accompany them, keeping him under her watchful eye. Upon reaching the city, Lu Yan used his powers to detect Mr. Bu's energy signature, pinpointing his location at a "Fansheng Fashion Show" on Yong'an Street.
Gu Beixi then cunningly sent Dengdeng away to buy meat pies and tea. While she was gone, a child mistook her for an elderly woman, calling her "granny," which vexed Dengdeng. She then discovered that more of her hair had turned white. To hide it, she quickly sought out some pot ash to darken her hair.
Left alone, Gu Beixi confronted Lu Yan, questioning whether Dengdeng's condition was due to the monster or Lu Yan himself, implying they were one and the same. He accused Lu Yan of fabricating the monster hunt as a ploy to lure Dengdeng out of the stronghold. Lu Yan dismissed his accusations. Gu Beixi then declared Dengdeng his woman, warning Lu Yan against harming her. He attempted to attack Lu Yan with "dog blood" and charms, but his efforts proved futile.
Lu Yan sternly warned Gu Beixi that any further delay would only accelerate Dengdeng's demise, stressing that if the culprit wasn't caught, she wouldn't survive the night. He threatened to eliminate Gu Beixi if he continued to impede their progress. They proceeded to Mr. Bu's "Fansheng Fashion Show," where Mr. Bu made a grand entrance.
He regaled the audience with tales of his past as a weaver for the emperor in the weaving workshop in the capital, expressing his desire for the world to marvel at his creations. Suddenly, his features contorted, his hair turned white, and his body twisted into a monstrous form, throwing the crowd into a panic. Gu Beixi moved to engage the monster, but Lu Yan held him back.
Lu Yan used his magic to unseal the doors, allowing the terrified crowd to flee. In the ensuing chaos, Dengdeng accidentally collided with Mr. Ya, whom she helped to escape, though he was preoccupied with his camera. During the rush, Dengdeng's hairpin fell off, but Lu Yan retrieved it and returned it to her, reiterating its importance for her protection. Meanwhile, those who couldn't escape, including Gu Beixi, Xin, and Chang, were ensnared in silken cocoons spun by Mr. Bu.
Dengdeng and Lu Yan were also trapped. Dengdeng lightheartedly chided Lu Yan for being so close that he could see her eye wrinkles and humorously suggested her "vigorous Eight Characters" blood might be effective. Gu Beixi, overhearing talk of blood, attempted to use "black dog blood" he carried, but Lu Yan informed him it was useless against Spirit Clan. Lu Yan then used fire to destroy the cocoons, freeing everyone.
After escaping, they found a weakened Mr. Bu in a back room. He clarified that his clothes and accessories, imbued with his unique energy, were designed to absorb fat, not essence, to help wearers achieve beauty, emphasizing that he had never intended to harm anyone. He attributed his sudden public transformation to a camera flash that had temporarily disoriented him. While considering Mr. Bu's explanation, Lu Yan instructed Xin and Chang to search the surroundings for anything dangerous.
Outside, Dengdeng discovered Mr. Ya's camera. As she reflected on Mr. Ya, the real Spirit Clan, disguised as Mr. Ya, lunged at her. Lu Yan swiftly intervened, revealing the attacker's true identity as the disguised Spirit Clan. The creature then dissipated into a cloud of black smoke and vanished. Dengdeng's chest ached with an intense pain, mirroring her previous encounter, and Lu Yan observed that the toxin was rapidly consuming her body.
They proceeded to Mr. Ya's photo studio for clues. There, they found photographs of all the poisoned elderly men, as well as pictures of child beggars who had recently gone missing. Xin theorized that the Spirit Clan, while disguised as Mr. Ya, had released a subtle, invisible toxin during photo sessions to siphon energy from its victims, and Dengdeng's unique constitution had prevented her from being fully afflicted. Xin also noted their own wedding photo.
Lu Yan suspected that the Spirit Clan had orchestrated Mr. Bu's public transformation as a diversion, allowing it to then target Dengdeng. Gu Beixi attempted to console Dengdeng, assuring her that her hair would regain its black color once the culprit was caught, and complimented her unchanging beauty. Dengdeng, however, misunderstood his affection, believing he was merely continuing his father's ambition to annex Qingquan Stronghold.
An informer from the sedan chair company then reported that the injured Spirit Clan had fled south of the city. They rushed to a ruined temple in that direction, where they discovered skeletons of children and Mr. Ya's gown, which Dengdeng instantly recognized as a gift from her father on Mr. Ya's fiftieth birthday. She realized this was the Spirit Clan's nefarious lair. Lu Yan detected no residual energy, confirming the Spirit Clan had departed.
Dengdeng's condition worsened, her body visibly aging and requiring a walking stick. She noticed her arm beginning to rot. Seeing her distress, Lu Yan suggested they rest. As he examined her, he realized her body was severely ravaged, and she had been bravely enduring immense pain. She then confronted Lu Yan, asking if he had known all along that she would rot and die, just like the other chieftains.
