Ten years ago, a fierce and decisive battle raged at the border between the Xiao Empire and the Yan Kingdom. The Xiao Empire's elite forces were ambushed and faced dire peril from the Yan Kingdom's powerful ballista, which decimated their shield formations and caused heavy casualties. In this critical moment, Lin Xiaotian, the Wulin Alliance Leader, led many masters from Jiangdong to reinforce the Xiao army, single-handedly turning the tide of the war.

Following the devastating conflict, both nations were severely weakened and declared a ceasefire. However, soon after, news of Lin Xiaotian's sudden death spread, giving rise to rumors of foul play and leaving the prestigious position of Wulin Alliance Leader vacant.

After a decade, the decennial Wulin assembly is set to convene at Luoyan Peak in Jun'an City to select a new leader who will inherit the highly coveted Seven-star swordsmanship, the very technique Lin Xiaotian used to behead an enemy general in battle. Amidst the martial world's buzz, a storyteller at a market stall mentioned the newly released Wulin Beauty list, highlighting Lin Fang, Lin Xiaotian's son, as the most handsome man in Wulin and the entire Xiao Empire.

A young woman, Zhan Qinghong, boldly declared that her own mother was the most beautiful woman in the world. Zhan Qinghong, a spirited and mischievous young woman from the Zhan Family Manor in Jingzhou, was known for her playful antics. Her eldest martial brother often had to rein her in, while her younger martial brothers frequently bore the brunt of her pranks, such as being tied up in a tree.

Her father, Zhan Podi, once the deputy leader of the Wulin Alliance, had long retired to a secluded life with his wife, Su Qianhong. He confronted Zhan Qinghong about her latest misdeed: eating valuable snow jade shrimp, red-spotted grouper, and even her mother's special iced orchid, a birthday gift he had brought from the Western regions.

Although her martial brothers admitted to sharing some of the food, they quickly pointed out that Zhan Qinghong herself had devoured nine snow jade shrimps. Despite his exasperation, Zhan Podi decided it was time for Zhan Qinghong to venture out. He unexpectedly passed on the Zhan Family leader token to her, making her the new leader and tasking her with representing the Zhans at the upcoming Wulin assembly.

He explained that his retirement was to pursue his love for Su Qianhong, which had earned him the ire of many younger martial artists. He emphasized that the main goal wasn't to win the leadership but to gain experience, forge friendships, and showcase the Zhan family's enduring strength.

Her mother, Su Qianhong, also gave Zhan Qinghong a family heirloom: a golden silk armor, jokingly reminding her of a hole she burned in it at age seven and advising her to wear it inside out. He concluded with a stern warning that if she caused any trouble outside, she should not claim affiliation with the Zhan family. Zhan Qinghong, accompanied by her maid Xiao Lan, journeyed to Jun'an City.

Upon arrival, they were immediately captivated by the city's vibrant streets, which far surpassed their rural markets. They overheard gossip about the Heart Warming Pearl, a legendary treasure said to prolong life, preserve youth, and enhance martial arts. It was currently with the Zheng family after one of their members had foolishly pawned it.

They also learned that Feng Bufei, one of the notorious "three demons in the nether world" renowned for his exceptional lightness skill and thievery, had issued an "order to steal the treasure" for the pearl. Zhan Qinghong, brimming with ambition, saw this as a golden opportunity to make a name for herself by defeating Feng Bufei and returning the pearl, a plan Xiao Lan regarded with skepticism.

They then checked into the Tongfu Inn, which they quickly realized was an overpriced "black inn," but Zhan Qinghong, unfazed, was eager to proceed to their next objective: catching a glimpse of the famously handsome Lin Fang. Lin Fang's appearance in public always drew immense crowds of adoring fans who showered him with flowers and cheers. To get a better view, Zhan Qinghong used her "Jinghong Lueying" lightness skill to ascend to a high point.

Although she didn't get a clear look, Lin Fang, from inside his carriage, noticed her distinctive Zhan family lightness technique. Xiao Lan, meanwhile, was completely infatuated after catching a glimpse of Lin Fang's face. Zhan Qinghong, slightly annoyed at her missed opportunity, followed his carriage to the Gao family residence.

Lin Fang, a guest at a banquet in the Gao family's South Yard, had arrived with a retinue of guards, a precaution taken by his adopted father, General Xiahou Ying, who feared Feng Bufei's threat to capture Lin Fang. Lin Fang, however, found the extensive security unnecessary, though his servant Dongxue fretted over his delicate health.

Excusing himself for some fresh air in the garden, Lin Fang coincidentally encountered Zhan Qinghong, who had scaled a wall to avoid the Gao family's servants searching for him. Unaware of his true identity, she mistook him for another person sneaking in to see Lin Fang. After a brief exchange, Zhan Qinghong decided it was a "bad start" and abandoned her quest for the day.

As she departed, she accidentally dropped her Zhan Family leader token, which Lin Fang promptly retrieved. Later, a mysterious figure behind his bed curtains identified the girl as Zhan Qinghong, daughter of Zhan Podi. That night, Lin Fang was haunted by a recurring nightmare from ten years prior, reliving the moment his father, Lin Xiaotian, was murdered. He remembered crying helplessly as a child, unable to discern his father's dying words. This unresolved trauma had plagued him for a decade.

Lin Fang mused that the reappearance of Zhan Podi, who had vanished from the martial world for years, was highly significant. He believed that even if Zhan Podi wasn't the direct killer, he must possess vital information about the events surrounding his father's death. Holding Zhan Qinghong's dropped leader token, Lin Fang found her to be "an interesting person."

He instructed the mysterious figure to investigate Zhan Podi's whereabouts, intending to use the token's return as a pretext to get closer to Zhan Qinghong and uncover the truth. Meanwhile, Zhan Qinghong, having decided against further attempts to see Lin Fang, was determined to "join the fun" at the Zheng family residence, hoping to make a name for herself by intercepting Feng Bufei.

She infiltrated the Zheng family's compound, where she witnessed Feng Bufei attempting to steal the Heart Warming Pearl. He was confronted by Shen Yanzhi, who brazenly utilized poison in her attack. As their fight reached a stalemate, General Xiahou Ying arrived with his soldiers. General Xiahou Ying criticized Feng Bufei's martial arts as "miscellaneous but not precise," declaring that his varied skills were insufficient to defeat him.

Overwhelmed and nearly captured, Feng Bufei lost his grip on the Heart Warming Pearl. Zhan Qinghong, executing a high jump, deftly caught the pearl. Someone among the onlookers recognized her, shouting, "Zhan Qinghong, from the Zhans in Jingzhou!" Defeated, Feng Bufei fled, but then, realizing Zhan Qinghong now possessed the Heart Warming Pearl, he proclaimed, "There's nothing I can't get," and immediately pursued her to reclaim it. As Zhan Qinghong attempted to evade Feng Bufei, Wen You suddenly appeared, accidentally striking her on the chest. Indignant, Zhan Qinghong exclaimed, "You rascal!"
