The Immortal Ascension Episode 24 Recap
> The Immortal Ascension Recap
Han Li briefs his companions on the four Foundation Establishment Blood Guards they will face. He explains that while their Demonic Transformation secret art drastically increases their cultivation, it has significant weaknesses: it requires time to activate within a Blood Cocoon, and upon transformation, the user loses their rationality. Han Li plans to exploit this by having the main group engage and delay the Blood Guards, allowing the two female cultivators to proceed with their mission.
Elsewhere, a Black Fiend Cult elder, forced to stand guard, complains about his lazy and disrespectful comrades. The ambush is sprung, and Han Li's group engages the cultists. The Chen brothers are tasked with handling the lower-level cultivators, while Han Li, Liu Jing, and Song Meng pursue a more powerful enemy. The cultist elder finds himself overwhelmed and desperately calls for his allies, Tie Luo and Qingwen, for aid.
In response, a transformed Tie Luo arrives, telling the beleaguered elder to undergo his own transformation while he holds the line. The elder then absorbs the spiritual energy from several nearby disciples to fuel his own demonic transformation. Seeing this, an eager Song Meng declares the newly transformed beast as his opponent. As the battle rages, Liu Jing engages in a fierce duel with Tie Luo, taunting him for his regenerative abilities.
Qingwen also appears on the battlefield, surprising Han Li. Qingwen reveals he knows about Han Li's entry into Yellow Maple Valley via an Ascension Token and his advancement to mid-Foundation Establishment. He taunts Han Li, blaming him for Wu Jiuzhi's current transformed state and vowing to avenge Wan Xiaoshan. Meanwhile, Song Meng confronts Tie Luo, who correctly identifies Song Meng's family's martial arts background. Tie Luo bitterly criticizes cultivators for orchestrating mortal wars while feigning neutrality, causing immense suffering.
To end his fight, Liu Jing activates his life-bound treasure by burning his own source blood, a profound sacrifice that shocks Han Li. With this immense power, Liu Jing completely incinerates General Tie Luo, leaving not even his mystic pouch behind. In the chaos of the battle, a transformed Blood Guard attacks Chen Rong, inflicting him with a lethal corpse poison. His brother is left devastated as Chen Rong succumbs.
Understanding that they cannot leave the body behind, Liu Jing advises cremation. The surviving brother performs the rites, promising to take his brother's ashes home, and implores the others not to tell Chen Qiaoqian about her cousin's death yet, wishing to break the news to her himself later. The group proceeds deeper into the palace and discovers Emperor Yue, held captive by the Black Fiend Cult.
The Emperor explains that a Beguiling Mist in the palace causes mortals to fall into a deep sleep, and he fears his court has perished. He was only awakened when Chen Qiaoqian and Weiniang found him and gave him a sobering pill. Han Li advises the Emperor to stay with them for safety.
Later, Liu Jing confronts Song Meng, revealing he knows Song Meng has been deliberately suppressing his cultivation, only advancing after Liu Jing did so as not to cause him distress. Liu Jing confesses that an old poison injury has damaged his foundation, making it impossible for him to ever reach the Core Formation stage. He implores Song Meng and Weiniang, both exceptionally talented, not to let his own misfortune hinder their potential.
Their advance is halted by a new black-clad figure who takes a set of Blood Condensing Five-Element Pills from Chen Rong's body. Han Li instantly deduces this is not the Black Fiend Cult leader but the final, fire-element Blood Guard. The guard then swiftly captures the exhausted Liu Jing. As Weiniang cries out in alarm, Song Meng restrains her, warning that any rash action will only endanger Liu Jing further. The Blood Guard confirms this, chillingly stating that Liu Jing is about to die and demands their surrender.
