The Immortal Ascension Episode 19 Recap
> The Immortal Ascension Recap
With his target still hiding in the mine, Wang Chan ordered his men to find him even if it meant digging up the entire cave. A subordinate pointed out the tunnels were a complex labyrinth, but Wang Chan dismissed the hiding cultivators as mere "vermin" that should be dealt with accordingly. Inside, the cultivators mocked the demonic sects, confident they were safe unless their enemies could blow up the mountain.
Ignoring a subordinate's warning that destroying the quarry would anger his aunt, Wang Chan took this as an incentive and unleashed a powerful Earthquake Talisman. As the mountain shook violently and the quarry began collapsing, the cultivators, including Lv Tianmeng and Xuan Yue, fled deeper into the tunnels, remarking that the demonic sects were mad to destroy their own property, likely to erase all evidence of their activities.
After the tremors subsided, Lv Tianmeng and Xuan Yue discovered Han Li and called him out. Annoyed to have run into them, Han Li feigned relief at their safety. He claimed he had barely escaped the collapse and hadn't seen any other disciples. He created an excuse to leave, mentioning Yellow Maple Valley's Soul-Tethering Technique that allowed disciples to locate one another, stating his intent to find Chen Qiaoqian.
However, Lv Tianmeng and Xuan Yue insisted he join them, suggesting they first find an exit together before searching for Chen Qiaoqian. Han Li reluctantly agreed, knowing they would almost certainly kill him to silence him once they escaped and began planning a preemptive strike. Elsewhere, Wang Chan entered the destroyed mine to search for his target.
After his subordinate located the body of a Clear Void Sect disciple, Wang Chan remained fixated on the man with the surname Li, certain he was too cunning to die with a "fool." Just then, the subordinate announced the discovery of a hidden spirit stone vault belonging to the Yan Clan. Recognizing his father-in-law's penchant for secret stashes, Wang Chan claimed the entire trove as his wife's dowry.
His subordinate fumed internally, realizing Wang Chan had ordered the mine's destruction despite knowing his target was not there. As Han Li's group ventured deeper, they sent a scout from the Moonshadow Sect, Junior Luo, into an open area, only for him to be killed instantly. This confirmed Han Li's suspicion that the place was dangerous and his companions were formidable.
A massive Level 4 White Jade Spider emerged and, during the battle, mutated into an even more dangerous Blood Jade Spider. Lv Tianmeng urged Xuan Yue to trap the beast with his artifact so he could finish it with a powerful Talisman Treasure. Han Li noted Lv Tianmeng's wealth of artifacts but also sensed the deep mistrust between the two. As Lv Tianmeng prepared his ultimate attack, the spider broke free, revealing Xuan Yue had only pretended to trap it.
Realizing the betrayal, Lv Tianmeng was swiftly killed by the beast. Xuan Yue then revealed himself to Han Li, proposing a partnership. He called Lv Tianmeng a fool obsessed with spirit stones who had planned to kill them both for the loot. Xuan Yue claimed those stones were nothing compared to the true treasure in the cave: a teleport array leading beyond the Tiannan Continent.
When he asked if Han Li was curious about the world beyond, Han Li coldly replied that the last person who asked him that was now dead. Their conversation was cut short as the spider burst through a wall. Xuan Yue tried to flee, but Han Li used a puppet and Xuan Yue's own Cyan Mirror to distract the beast. Unleashing his Cyan Sword Technique, Han Li defeated the weakened spider. Xuan Yue also perished in the chaos.
After the fight, Han Li discovered a clutch of glowing Blood Jade Spider eggs, which he carefully collected. He then found a hidden cave containing the damaged long-distance teleport array Xuan Yue had mentioned. Nearby lay a skeleton that crumbled to dust at his touch, along with some ancient pills and a Greater Teleport Command Seal, which he suspected was the key to repairing the formation.
Reflecting on how greed and ambition turn to dust, Han Li realized the immense value of his discovery and decided to keep it secret, sealing the cave to return to later. Making his way out, Han Li found an injured Chen Qiaoqian trapped under a rock. He freed her and gave her a pill, but she soon lost consciousness. He carried her to safety.
When she awoke, she began speaking of Lu Mingyuan, much to Han Li's relief, as he realized she didn't fully recall the truth of Lu's death at his hands. Chen Qiaoqian confessed that the incident with Lu Mingyuan had made her reject her family's arrangements and seek her own path on the front lines.
To protect his secrets and ensure her safety, Han Li gave her more pills, claiming they were for her injuries but had secretly mixed in Oblivion Pills to make her forget the events in the mine, including the teleport array and the spirit stone vault. Exhausted from the recent battles, Han Li decided against returning to Yellow Maple Valley, opting instead to find a secluded place in the Golden Drum Plains to recuperate and consolidate his power.
