Lin Xiangyuan confessed his long-held affection for Jiang Fanlv, who, fueled by alcohol, questioned his sincerity and whether he wanted to marry her. He reaffirmed his feelings and asked for a chance. They ended up spending the night together. The following morning, Jiang Fanlv awoke filled with regret over her impulsive actions and quietly left the hotel. A few days later, Lei Ting noticed Jiang Fanlv hadn't visited him recently and suspected Lei Yuzheng had upset her.

Lei Yuzheng denied any problems, but Lei Ting insisted he invite Jiang Fanlv and her father, Jiang Jin, for dinner that weekend, to which Lei Yuzheng agreed before leaving for the office. Later, while at a mall, Lei Yuzheng inquired about buying quilts. Coincidentally, he ran into Jiang Fanlv, who sarcastically commented on his presence, suggesting such activities didn't suit him. Lei Yuzheng retorted, "What's wrong with buying quilts? I wanted to buy it."

He purchased ten single quilts for the children on a distant island and an additional double quilt, which was later revealed to be for their teacher. He then instructed He Qunfei to manage the payment and delivery. Jiang Fanlv pressed him on his choice of quilts for the southern islands, but he deflected the question. As Lei Yuzheng tried to leave, Jiang Fanlv confronted him about his unanswered calls, expressing her frustration that he didn't seem to care.

Lei Yuzheng wanted to avoid a public argument. She suggested he direct his care towards those in need of wool quilts, prompting Lei Yuzheng to state he was going to the island for Shao Zhenrong. Jiang Fanlv, however, accused him of doing it all for Du Xiaosu. Lei Yuzheng, irritated, asked why she connected everything to Du Xiaosu and then questioned if Du Xiaosu’s resignation had anything to do with her.

Jiang Fanlv implied that his sadness over Du Xiaosu's departure stemmed from his inability to see her, despite his past claims of having no feelings. Lei Yuzheng, deeming her irrational, walked away, leaving her still calling after him. Meanwhile, He Qunfei met Zou Siqi for dinner. Zou Siqi complained about her exhausting job and the constant need to earn money. He Qunfei then abruptly presented her with a diamond ring and proposed.

Flustered, Zou Siqi found the proposal too hasty and embarrassing. She explained that their financial realities, with both living in rented apartments and facing worries about rent increases or eviction, made it an unsuitable time for marriage. He Qunfei asked why she was with him if she didn't consider him suitable for marriage. She admitted she liked him for his qualities—he was handsome, could cook, was kind, and had a decent job—but reiterated that the timing was simply not right.

A dejected He Qunfei later received a phone call from his mother, who pressed him about his marriage plans. He falsely told her he was working on it and that Zou Siqi had said yes, trying to reassure her. At the same time, Zou Siqi, eager to make money for a house, met Shangguan Boyao, a financial expert, through her friend Huanhuan. Shangguan Boyao was clearly taken with Zou Siqi.

After Huanhuan praised Shangguan Boyao's successful stock recommendations, Zou Siqi sought his advice on investments, expressing a preference for steady funds given her limited savings. Shangguan Boyao promised his full support and offered to introduce her to other influential figures in the finance industry, which delighted Zou Siqi, who dreamt of a big house and financial independence. Throughout this period, He Qunfei repeatedly tried to call Zou Siqi, but she did not answer, leaving him sleepless and worried.

The next morning, Lei Yuzheng noticed He Qunfei's pale and tired appearance, attributing it to his "realistic girlfriend" and advising him to end the relationship. Soon after, Teacher Sun called Lei Yuzheng to thank him for the quilts, mentioning that the children loved them and the double quilt was for him. Teacher Sun also shared that Du Xiaosu was doing well on the island but seemed preoccupied and mentioned her upcoming birthday, hinting at a surprise celebration.

Inspired, Lei Yuzheng informed He Qunfei he would be away for a few days on a provisional business trip abroad, emphatically reminding him to keep their collaboration with S. G. a secret. He Qunfei was left wondering about Lei Yuzheng's mysterious departure. Unexpectedly, He Qunfei’s parents arrived in Shanghai and called him only after they were already on their way to see Zou Siqi.

When they met Zou Siqi, they warmly embraced her as their future daughter-in-law, even mentioning that He Qunfei had told them they were already married, which shocked Zou Siqi. They praised her beauty and presented her with 30,000 yuan as a "meeting gift," explaining it was an initial payment of a larger sum. Zou Siqi, overwhelmed, pulled He Qunfei aside.

She angrily confronted him for fabricating their marriage and bringing his parents to her apartment without her knowledge, making her feel pressured. He Qunfei apologized profusely, explaining his mother's heart condition and his inability to reach her earlier. Zou Siqi attempted to return the money, but He Qunfei insisted she keep it, fearing his mother's reaction.

Instead, Zou Siqi suggested investing the money with a contact of hers, but He Qunfei was skeptical, fearing scams and the loss of his parents' hard-earned money. Frustrated, Zou Siqi declared she would not take the money and threatened to reveal the truth to his parents. He Qunfei desperately begged her not to, promising to keep her secret if she would accept the funds.

She retorted that he was being irrational and again threatened to tell his parents the truth, leading to an angry parting. Later, as He Qunfei walked despondently down the street, he was robbed. He struggled with the thief, who ultimately fled, leaving money scattered across the pavement. As he collected the bills, Lin Xiangyuan drove by, stopped, and offered comfort.

He Qunfei confided in him, explaining that the money was a gift from his parents to his girlfriend, and how he had proposed to Zou Siqi, then falsely told his parents she had accepted. Feeling like a "joke," he expressed his frustration at being an ordinary employee without family wealth or an elite background, lamenting his inability to succeed.

Lin Xiangyuan empathized, sharing that he, too, had faced similar struggles and that despite his executive title, he had only managed to buy a house for his mother in a small town. He encouraged He Qunfei to believe in miracles, cultivate ambition, and work harder, assuring him that in this city, if he strove forward, he would eventually achieve everything he desired, including a fulfilling relationship, and would no longer have to compromise.

On Du Xiaosu's birthday, spectacular fireworks suddenly lit up the night sky. Teacher Sun and the children gathered to surprise her with a handmade birthday cake, proudly explaining it was their first attempt. Du Xiaosu was deeply touched, declaring it the prettiest cake and the happiest birthday she had ever celebrated. She made three wishes: for the children's health and happiness, for Teacher Sun's girlfriend to return, and for all lovers to have happy endings.

Just then, Lei Yuzheng arrived, much to Du Xiaosu's surprise. The children eagerly asked if he brought a gift, and while he admitted he forgot, he promised to make it up to her later. Teacher Sun then revealed that Lei Yuzheng had arranged all the fireworks, further warming Du Xiaosu's heart. They all joyfully shared the cake together. The next morning, before dawn, Lei Yuzheng woke Du Xiaosu and brought her to the beach to watch the sunrise.

He explained it was his personal tradition to watch the sunrise on his birthday for good luck, and he wanted to share that experience and luck with her. Du Xiaosu thanked him. She then brought up her feelings of unease since she left and apologized for "that night," but Lei Yuzheng insisted it was in the past. Du Xiaosu, however, suggested he was mad, otherwise she wouldn't have left without saying goodbye, and implied he was there to criticize her.

Lei Yuzheng denied this, but pointed out her earlier desire to stay at Yutian forever, questioning her sudden departure. Du Xiaosu maintained that quitting was her own decision, simply because she was too tired. Lei Yuzheng then mentioned he knew Jiang Fanlv spoke with her, which Du Xiaosu confirmed, downplaying it as a "short chat." As the sun dramatically rose, both were captivated. She thanked him again, expressing her immense happiness. Afterwards, as they walked, Lei Yuzheng carried two washbasins.

He grew impatient with her attempts to bargain for a lower price, urging her to hurry so they could return before the weather changed. Du Xiaosu, annoyed, suggested he go back without her if he didn't wish to shop.
