As the Red Scorpion launched a fierce counterattack against the Cheetah team, all enemies converged on the Cheetah team's position, prompting Cheetah to call for fire support and early interception. Xing Tian personally urged his men to attack, warning them not to let their "guests" escape. A sniper was quickly identified, and Xing Tian ordered his forces to locate the enemy marksman.

Miya, leading some of her subordinates, directed them to take a specific path, as she intended to personally deal with the enemy sniper. During the intense firefight, the Cheetah team found their only retreat path cut off. Squad members frantically called for reload and retreat, with one urgently demanding more ammo. Yan Poyue, along with others, was injured, his leg specifically mentioned in the heavy fighting, as were Bai Long and Lv Tu.

Despite being wounded, Yan Poyue exhibited immense resolve. When pinned down by enemy fire, he quickly broke through the floor, creating a water escape route, and even managed to catch a grenade thrown by the enemy. The confrontation escalated into a duel between snipers, Guo Xiaoxiao and Miya. Miya declared she would personally deal with the enemy sniper, telling Xing Tian to stay alive and await her return. Guo Xiaoxiao, in her position, had Xing Tian in her sights.

However, she recalled the mission's objective to capture Xing Tian alive for public trial, so she fired a shot to merely disrupt his movement rather than kill him. Yan Poyue was hit by enemy fire, and although protected by his bulletproof vest, he felt excruciating pain, as if his internal organs were ruptured and every bone shattered. Falling into the water, he reflected on Qin Feng never mentioning how painful being shot could be, even with a vest.

Yet, he mustered his resolve, reminding himself that as an elite special unit member of the armed police forces, whose badge represented their honor, pain alone could not defeat him. Xing Tian, sensing the Cheetah's resilience, ordered Lai to quickly find Miya, instructing them not to return to the current base after dealing with the sniper, as Cheetah reinforcements were arriving and the position was indefensible. He commanded them to rendezvous at Bangao.

Meanwhile, Guo Xiaoxiao's sniper rifle was damaged by Miya, forcing her into a direct engagement. She radioed her team, acknowledging the enemy sniper's approach and stating her intention to handle Miya despite her broken rifle. As Yan Poyue once again faced Xing Tian, the latter remarked on their apparent fate. Yan Poyue reminded Xing Tian of his promise to return and defeat him. They engaged in close-quarters combat with knives and axes.

Miya then coordinated with Lai to flank Guo Xiaoxiao, with Miya confirming their rendezvous point at Bangao after dealing with the sniper. Xing Tian taunted Yan Poyue during their struggle, asking if he was going "soft," to which Yan Poyue defiantly responded. After Yan Poyue managed to subdue Xing Tian, the latter unexpectedly pulled out a grenade. The two plunged into the water as the grenade exploded. Guo Xiaoxiao, now alone, found herself facing both Lai and Miya.

She engaged Lai in hand-to-hand combat, ultimately strangling him. Utilizing his body as bait, she lured Miya into her trap and delivered a fatal blow. Yan Poyue, meanwhile, dragged the unconscious Xing Tian ashore. He radioed Qin Feng, confirming that Target One, Xing Tian, had been captured alive and the mission was accomplished. Qin Feng ordered him to release a flare. However, Yan Poyue's radio malfunctioned, preventing him from hearing the order.

He was then ambushed by remaining drug traffickers and shot in the arm, his blood staining the lake water. With Qin Feng's immediate group running out of ammunition, and Yan Poyue, though weakened, having regained consciousness, the situation was precarious. Just then, Guo Xiaoxiao arrived with a machine gun, sweeping the area and ending the battle. The team boarded a boat, and Qin Feng detonated explosives, completely destroying the Red Scorpion's stronghold.

All the Cheetah members bore injuries, large and small, from the fierce engagement. On the boat carrying Xing Tian, he revealed to Yan Poyue that they had met long ago, over ten years prior, in a cellar. Yan Poyue was the only child who escaped, and it was Xing Tian who had called for guards. Xing Tian mused that if he had taken Yan Poyue's hand then, their lives might have turned out differently.

Yan Poyue simply replied that there are no "ifs" in life. The "Operation Scorpion" concluded with tremendous success. The Cheetah Commando had completely eradicated the Red Scorpion armed drug trafficking group, delivering a fatal blow to international drug organizations and safeguarding national security and people's lives. Recognizing their outstanding contributions, the military command held an awards ceremony. Qin Feng received a First-Class Merit award and was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel as Deputy Detachment Captain.

Lv Tu and Leng Jing both received Second-Class Merit awards and were promoted to Major, with Lv Tu becoming the First Corps Captain and Leng Jing the First Corps Vice-Captain. Yan Poyue, Guo Xiaoxiao, Bai Long, and Xu Yang were awarded Second-Class Merit and promoted to Lieutenant. Yan Poyue, speaking on behalf of the award recipients, expressed his gratitude and said he was lucky to be standing there.

He emphasized that the military medals represented the party's trust, the armed police force's daily training and vigilance, and the countless sacrifices of their comrades. He stood there accepting the awards on behalf of the fallen, asserting that the Cheetah Commando and history would never forget them. Later that evening, Qin Feng announced a celebratory dinner for Squad Nine. However, only Xiao Yun Jie was present. Qin Feng realized the others had taken leave to visit the Martyrs' Cemetery.

There, Leng Jing and Bai Long paid respects to Xiang Fei, Guo Xiaoxiao visited Leng Bing and Yue Kong, and Yan Poyue honored Lu Xiao Tian, each placing their newly awarded military medals before their comrades' graves as a salute. Qin Feng advised his team that sacrifice is an inherent part of any battle within the Cheetah Commando, and they must learn to accept it.

To avoid such sacrifices, he urged them to strive for absolute victory – zero casualties and zero mistakes – by continually strengthening themselves. He then issued a new order: Yan Poyue, Guo Xiaoxiao, Bai Long, and Xiao Yun Jie were to be sent to the Armed Police Special Operations Academy for training, commencing the following day, to become exceptional special operations commanders. Their instructor was a familiar face: Ai Qianxue.

She had completed her postgraduate studies and was now pursuing a doctorate in Special Operations Command. Yan Poyue commented on her impressive qualifications, noting she would now be commanding them. Ai Qianxue, in turn, challenged his implied skepticism, explaining that as a researcher at the Centre for Intel and Strategy Studies, she was tasked with training and observing elite soldiers from various special units to adapt to increasingly complex anti-terrorism situations, and they were her research subjects.

Yan Poyue confidently accepted this, stating she could research him all she wanted. Ai Qianxue reminded him of his boast from Regiment 247, to become the "best version of himself." Yan Poyue, with humility, admitted that he was naive then, a "frog in the well," and now, in Cheetah, he felt he was not even among the worst. He reflected on the unit's composition: one-third battle-hardened veterans and the rest elite soldiers trained by them.

He concluded that it was through the sacrifice of their fallen comrades, the baptism of blood and death, and the sorrow of loss that the Cheetah Commando truly became a soulful force, with all who lay there being invaluable treasures of the special forces.

Ai Qianxue then explained to the new students about advanced threats, citing Yue Kong, Cheetah's best sniper, and how their opponents used infrared anti-sniper detection systems which could instantly trace a sniper's bullet trajectory and launch precise retaliatory strikes, making even the toughest soldier vulnerable.
