During a pre-drill meeting, Colonel Liu and Qin Feng exchanged veiled threats. Colonel Liu, knowing Qin Feng’s tactics, recognized his request for dinner as a reconnaissance mission for his team. Qin Feng, in turn, advised Colonel Liu to tell his men to "take it easy" during the drill, subtly reminding him of past heavy losses. Meanwhile, in Team Nine, Yan Poyue, with a mischievous glint in his eye, gathered his comrades.
He planned to create an "opening red" (a good start). Xiao Yun Jie distracted the Blue Team sentries at the base entrance, allowing Yan Poyue to set up a jammer. After leaving briefly, Yan Poyue returned to draw a white line on the ground, proclaiming that the Blue Team was forbidden to cross it for another hour and thirty-five minutes as per drill regulations. He continued to speak nonsensically to buy time.
Colonel Liu soon noticed the surveillance monitors showed footage from half an hour prior. He immediately dispatched the guard squad to the entrance to investigate. Yan Poyue kept up his act of feigned foolishness. When Colonel Liu arrived, fuming, Yan Poyue, standing behind the white line, warned them not to cross it. Just then, Yan Poyue fired what appeared to be a dummy grenade towards the Blue Team’s helicopter unit.
While Colonel Qin tried to calm Colonel Liu by stating the grenade wouldn’t count as the drill hadn't officially started, an official message soon came in: the helicopter squadron and its fuel supply vehicles were "eliminated" from the drill due to a "fire bomb" written on the grenade. Colonel Liu was enraged, realizing Yan Poyue had exploited a loophole in the rules.
Qin Feng, however, pointed out that this incident revealed a significant defensive vulnerability in the Blue Team’s base camp. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Colonel Liu immediately contacted the conducting team, requesting permission to commence pursuit ahead of schedule. He declared they would rather die than let the Cheetahs escape. Elsewhere, Leng Jing and Lv Tu’s eight-person squad found their position compromised by Blue Team search parties.
With limited cover, Leng Jing proposed they split into three-man teams to infiltrate and break through the encirclement, planning to meet at a designated rally point. Leng Jing volunteered to stay behind and distract the pursuers, prioritizing Lv Tu’s role as captain. The opposing Blue Team captain, who had twice failed to join Cheetah Commando, aggressively challenged Leng Jing to a fight. After a brief but intense confrontation, Leng Jing skillfully eliminated him and his entire team.
Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie, meanwhile, had managed to steal a Blue Team vehicle with the help of Guo Xiaoxiao and Yue Kong. Drawing on his detailed knowledge of the kitchen squad’s routines, Yan Poyue correctly deduced the location of the "real" Blue Team supply truck. As they approached, Guo Xiaoxiao reminded Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie that despite their past camaraderie, they were now opponents, and there was no room for leniency.
Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie quickly apprehended Lu Xiao Tian, who tried to act friendly and reminisce. Yan Poyue firmly reminded him that this was a battlefield, and he was now a captive. Suddenly, Zhang Tian Yang, the new kitchen squad leader (taking over after Fan Jin retired), appeared. Yan Poyue immediately saluted him, then instinctively shielded him when he noticed Guo Xiaoxiao had Zhang Tian Yang targeted.
Seeing Zhang Tian Yang walk with a noticeable limp, Yan Poyue realized it was an old injury from the selection process. Overcome with guilt, he declared his intention to abandon the mission. Guo Xiaoxiao vehemently protested, reminding him of their objective to cut off Blue Team's supplies and questioning his motives. Zhang Tian Yang, refusing pity, demanded Yan Poyue treat him as an enemy.
When Yan Poyue hesitated, Zhang Tian Yang instructed Lu Xiao Tian to bind them and even physically struck Yan Poyue with his "injured" leg, insisting that engaging him was the only form of respect. Lu Xiao Tian feigned concern, urging Zhang Tian Yang to stop lest he worsen his injury. Yan Poyue, after a moment of internal conflict, finally tied both Zhang Tian Yang and Lu Xiao Tian.
During their drive, Yan Poyue began to notice discrepancies: Lu Xiao Tian’s excessive chatter and Zhang Tian Yang’s uncharacteristic failure to prevent Lu Xiao Tian from mentioning Guo Kui’s location. He realized they were putting on an act. Feigning a need to use the restroom, Yan Poyue stopped the vehicle and led Xiao Yun Jie and Guo Xiaoxiao into a nearby forest to observe.
Moments later, Zhang Tian Yang leaped from the vehicle, his "injured" leg now moving with perfect agility. Guo Kui and other Blue Team members then emerged to untie them, admitting their surprise that Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie had become such astute strategists after joining Cheetah, having seen through their elaborate ruse. With the charade over and the "debt" of their past settled, Yan Poyue declared the true battle could begin.
Guo Xiaoxiao immediately opened fire, drawing Guo Kui’s team towards the eastern woods. Yan Poyue coordinated with Bai Long to provide support for Guo Xiaoxiao’s feint, while he and Xiao Yun Jie capitalized on the diversion to locate the actual Blue Team supply station. Following the feint, Zhang Tian Yang and Lu Xiao Tian drove the supply truck to what they believed was the main Blue Team supply station.
Unbeknownst to them, Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie had already stowed away on the vehicle, confirming its identity as the Blue Team's largest supply hub. Cao Ben and his team had positioned themselves at the outer perimeter.
He established communication with Yan Poyue, outlining a coordinated attack: Cao Ben's team would launch a feint attack to draw Blue Team’s attention and firepower, creating an opportunity for Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie to detonate the explosives and escape without direct engagement. As the feint commenced, Yan Poyue and Xiao Yun Jie ignited the explosives, successfully destroying the supply station and breaking through the ensuing chaos. Zhang Tian Yang and Lu Xiao Tian, though eliminated from the drill, watched with evident pride, deeply satisfied with their former comrades' remarkable success.
