Grace, however, revealed she had checked the accounting department and discovered that Lisa had provided these extensive promotions for Peter without charge.
She confronted Lisa about Peter's past criminal acts, including mixing fake buttons into products, causing a scene at Qingcheng's store, and arranging for someone to push Grace herself down the stairs. Lisa denied any involvement, but Grace warned her that if she didn't stop now, she would be implicated when Peter was eventually caught. Later, Li Zhicheng intercepted Gu Yanzhi on the road, demanding an explanation for his recent actions.
Gu Yanzhi angrily retorted that Li Zhicheng had always treated him as a subordinate, not a brother, and that Wenda would have collapsed without his help over the years. He declared his right to pursue his own career and told Li Zhicheng he had no right to stop him. Believing Gu Yanzhi was carrying the Qingcheng plan, Li Zhicheng attempted to take it, leading to a physical struggle.
Li Zhicheng punched Gu Yanzhi, who, angered by the blows, declared their years of friendship officially over and that they were now even. Gu Yanzhi then went to meet Peter, who noticed Gu Yanzhi's injured face and offered him something for the pain. Peter asked for the Qingcheng plan. Gu Yanzhi handed over a detailed Qingcheng plan, which Peter eagerly reviewed, noting Qingcheng's strategy to surround DP stores and Chen Zheng's new e-commerce channel. Peter felt confident he could prepare in advance. Gu Yanzhi then warned Peter to stop resorting to crude tricks like fake buttons or faking allergic reactions. Surprised that Gu Yanzhi knew, Peter confessed that he had personally orchestrated the button and allergy incidents, aiming to eliminate Qingcheng and Wenda.
Gu Yanzhi, having secretly recorded Peter's confession, then asked Peter why he chose a battle of life or death over mutual coexistence. Peter explained his philosophy, stemming from his past as a mercenary, where he learned that "the fittest shall survive" and rivals must be eliminated. Feigning a headache, Gu Yanzhi then excused himself, leaving Peter to review the "plan." Afterward, Li Zhicheng listened to Gu Yanzhi's recording of Peter's confession.
Li Zhicheng explained that the fight was an act to make their betrayal seem real, and he had always trusted Gu Yanzhi. Enraged, Lisa kicked Peter, grabbed a USB drive from his office, and fled. Grace instructed Lisa to stay put and immediately called Li Zhicheng to arrange a meeting with Lisa. Later, in a cafe, Lisa, overwhelmed by Peter's harassment, turned off her phone. Lisa expressed her fear of Peter's revenge, explaining her initial motives were to advance her career, not to engage in criminal acts. He urged her to trust the impartiality of the law and promised to ensure her safety.
With Lisa's cooperation and Antelope's surveillance, Peter was apprehended at his home by the police on charges of unfair competition tactics and premeditated assault. During the arrest, a bottle of medication was found. Li Zhicheng confirmed that the person who harmed Grace had been found and was being brought to the police station. As Li Jinyuan sadly packed her bags, ready to leave, Gu Yanzhi suddenly intercepted her car.
He took her to an unfamiliar company, which he revealed was the "Xiyangfan App's backstage platform," a company he had founded for her.
