> Our Glamorous Time Recap
Lin Qian, speaking with some hesitation, called her brother Lin Mocchen to inform him that she and Li Zhicheng intended to get their marriage license and requested he provide the household registration document. Lin Mocchen immediately refused, feigning not knowing its whereabouts, despite Lin Qian's reminder that he had it for property and visa matters.
He clarified that while he didn't oppose their relationship, he didn't support their immediate marriage, warning that marriage intertwines interests and could lead to a messy divorce. Lin Qian asserted that she had thought it through and truly loved Li Zhicheng, trusting her feelings. Lin Mocchen then suggested they could hold a wedding banquet first and delay legal registration. Lin Qian strongly rejected this, accusing him of viewing relationships like investments.
Lin Mocchen defended his perspective, claiming it offered the most accurate view, but Lin Qian insisted the document was at his place. Li Zhicheng noticed Lin Qian’s unhappiness and learned that her brother’s suggestion of a trial marriage had upset her. She reiterated her desire for a real marriage and hoped to register on the anniversary of their first meeting. Li Zhicheng promised to overcome her brother’s challenges.
Lin Qian then seriously proposed forming a dedicated design team for Qingcheng, explaining that she was overwhelmed juggling design, planning, and sales. Li Zhicheng readily agreed to help her find the right people, and Lin Qian expressed her happiness at having his support. When Li Zhicheng shared his predicament regarding the household registration, his team offered various suggestions. Wasp proposed getting Lin Mocchen drunk, assuming five of them could outdrink him.
However, when Li Zhicheng asked Lin Qian about her brother's alcohol tolerance, she revealed he was "extraordinarily good" at holding his liquor, making that plan seem unfeasible. Meanwhile, Lin Qian continued interviewing designers for Qingcheng, including a Parsons graduate who expressed a desire to elevate a local brand. Lin Qian challenged her to design a party dress with a Qingcheng theme within three days.
Li Zhicheng later met with Ning Weikai and Chen Zheng on a yacht to discuss a joint strategy against DP. He explained that despite its success, Qingcheng shirts had a limited target audience and lacked diverse price ranges and designs, making long-term sustainability difficult. He proposed creating sub-brands under the Qingcheng name: X-Qingcheng for the high-end market (to be handled by Xinbaorui), S-Qingcheng for the comparatively low-end (by Simeiqi), and W-Qingcheng for the mid-range (by Wenda).
This comprehensive approach, utilizing Snowy Smoke silk as the primary fabric alongside other materials, aimed to capture the entire apparel market, establishing Qingcheng as Linhai City's top brand and eventually an internationally recognized one. Ning Weikai voiced concern about the immense workload for Lin Qian designing across all three segments, but Li Zhicheng assured him that Qingcheng was already assembling a design team, and Lin Qian was actively interviewing professionals.
He emphasized that their collaborative production would leverage original designs and Snowy Smoke silk to compete effectively against DP's plagiarized products and lower costs. He clarified that Simeiqi would manage online and mobile sales, Xinbaorui retail stores and production, and Wenda would provide the necessary funding, estimating 200 million yuan. He stressed the importance of keeping their collaboration secret from Peter.
Lin Qian called Lin Mocchen, falsely claiming she had lost her ID card and needed the household registration to apply for a replacement, insisting it was an emergency. Lin Mocchen, suspicious that she might actually want the document for a marriage license, reluctantly returned to Linhai City. Upon his arrival, Lin Mocchen directly questioned Lin Qian's lie.
Lin Qian, feigning compliance, told him she had considered his previous advice and was now agreeable to holding a wedding first before getting legally registered, citing Li Zhicheng's father's health as a reason to avoid upsetting him. She tried to entice him with a home-cooked meal, which he eyed with suspicion. Over dinner, Lin Mocchen cautioned her about Li Zhicheng, a businessman who might use business strategies on her, and expressed his worry. Lin Qian acknowledged his concern.
He also jokingly imposed a "no babies" rule, to which Lin Qian readily agreed. He explained his "obstacle" role was meant to test their love, and if they passed, their story would be richer. He then playfully accused her of trying to get him drunk to steal the household registration. Lin Qian, denying it, then revealed her actual "big news": her plan to build her own design team for Qingcheng and sought his advice.
Lin Mocchen offered valuable insights, emphasizing that true high-end brands, like custom Italian shoemakers, succeed by consistently insisting on quality and design, regardless of market changes. Lin Qian found his advice very enlightening. Li Zhicheng arrived at Lin Qian's home, informing her that he, Chen Zheng, and Ning Weikai had successfully reached an agreement to jointly execute the Qingcheng plan.
Lin Mocchen, already having consumed a bottle of red wine, jokingly remarked on Lin Qian's apparent change of heart about delaying the marriage license, saying they would both thank him later. Li Zhicheng offered to share more strong liquor he had in his car. As the drinking continued, Lin Mocchen became increasingly intoxicated. He warned Li Zhicheng to treat Lin Qian well, vowing retribution if he ever betrayed her.
Li Zhicheng, who had wisely taken anti-hangover medicine and yogurt earlier, remained sober. Once Lin Mocchen passed out, Lin Qian carefully retrieved the household registration document from his person, celebrating triumphantly. The next day, Lin Qian and Li Zhicheng, dressed in camouflage, arrived at the civil affairs bureau. Both admitted to feeling nervous about the significant event. After verifying their details, they proceeded to the wedding proclamation ceremony.
They solemnly vowed, by their free will, to become husband and wife, taking responsibility for their marriage, caring for their parents, educating their children, and vowing to respect, love, trust, encourage, understand, tolerate, and depend on each other until death, through all circumstances, sharing joy and sorrow. With their vows exchanged, they officially became a legally married couple, sharing a sweet moment.
Returning home, Lin Mocchen had sobered up and, as he had predicted, realized they had already registered their marriage. He expressed deep hurt and disappointment, having not expected them to resort to such a trick to obtain the document. He refused Lin Qian's apology. Li Zhicheng stepped in, taking full responsibility, explaining that for him, the marriage certificate was essential to legitimately love and protect Lin Qian.
Lin Qian then confirmed to her brother that she had indeed chosen to spend her life with Li Zhicheng, asking him not to oppose them further, even if he couldn't offer his blessings. Seeing his continued silence, Li Zhicheng presented a prenuptial agreement drafted by a lawyer. He stated that if he ever betrayed their love or harmed Lin Qian, all his assets would go to her, and the contract required nothing from Lin Qian, as he trusted her completely.
He had already signed it and asked Lin Qian to sign it to make it effective. Lin Qian, however, was outraged, tearing up the document. She tearfully accused her brother of forcing their love to be based on a contract. Lin Mocchen, witnessing her distress, finally softened. He conceded that if they truly loved each other, the marriage certificate itself wouldn't protect them, but seeing their commitment, he wished them happiness.
Li Zhicheng later assured Lin Qian that her brother's actions stemmed from deep love for her. Meanwhile, at a Xinbaorui board meeting, Ning Weikai presented the Qingcheng collaboration plan. Zhu Hanjing found the idea of creating a new label too risky given Xinbaorui's current situation. Ning Weikai argued that it was a do-or-die situation, emphasizing that partnering with Wenda using the Qingcheng brand was their best chance for a comeback.
He sought the directors' support, but many remained hesitant, with some questioning the confidence in winning back customers from DP. Zhu Hanjing ultimately requested more time to consider. After Ning Weikai informed Li Zhicheng that Zhu Hanjing was not fully on board, Li Zhicheng decided to meet her personally. He explained that Xinbaorui's market share was declining, especially after her brother Zhu Hanchong sold his shares, and that the company urgently needed a bold move to stabilize its position.
He presented Qingcheng as that crucial opportunity, highlighting its rising popularity and Lin Qian's designs, as well as Chen Zheng's involvement through a new e-commerce method unknown to DP. He expressed confidence that their three-way collaboration would open up a new market in Linhai. Zhu Hanjing directly questioned whether his plan was purely motivated by his personal feelings for Lin Qian.
Li Zhicheng, while not denying his feelings, firmly stated that he would never propose an unsound business plan based solely on personal interests. Zhu Hanjing agreed to review the plan closely. Separately, Ning Weikai visited Grace, who, after reviewing the Qingcheng plan, believed it could be a turning point for Xinbaorui. Ning Weikai proposed that if the plan failed, they would fulfill her long-standing wish to travel together.
Grace jokingly questioned how he would provide for her if he lost everything, but he reassured her he would still take care of her, promising his words were only for her. While Peter was out, Gao Lang infiltrated Peter's home by climbing over the wall. He photographed a "Qingcheng Plan" document in the living room and then accessed Peter's computer in the bedroom to copy files. Peter unexpectedly returned, ambushing Gao Lang. Recognizing him as "Ning Weikai's sidekick" and a "hooligan," Peter accused Gao Lang of trespassing, leading to a violent struggle.
