After reviewing George's letter of intent, Ning Weikai was elated that the matter was finally settled. As he embraced Grace in his office, his secretary Cindy walked in, causing Grace to quickly pull away. Cindy took the contract and, with a knowing smile, advised Grace to close the door and windows as she left. Meanwhile, at home, Gu Yanzhi tried to cheer up a somber Li Jinyuan with various dishes he had "improved."

He then dramatically presented a lotus soup he called "My Bitter Drink," explaining he concocted it during the days she and Chen Zheng were "flirting." Li Jinyuan vehemently denied flirting, insisting Chen Zheng had been "stuck to her like some sick herbal patch." Gu Yanzhi, still feeling put out, urged her to sample the soup to taste his feelings at the time. Later, Ning Weikai and Grace visited Li Zhiqian's grave.

Grace noted that his assailant had been brought to justice, allowing his soul to rest in peace. Ning Weikai reflected on Li Zhiqian, who had nurtured him like an older brother, and expressed his regret that such an upright person fell victim to a scoundrel. He then thanked Li Zhiqian for inadvertently leading him to his greatest opponent and the woman he loved most, promising to care for Grace moving forward.

Meanwhile, Lin Qian brought Li Zhicheng to see a Nine-Headed Bird, a piece her teacher Geng Xinming had given her during a time of personal confusion. She hoped it would inspire him, explaining that each head of the bird represented a different emotion, and one must choose which emotion guides their thoughts. Lin Qian asked Li Zhicheng if he remembered a soldier's mission.

He recited a soldier's duty to fight for life, die for peace, save people and country, and sacrifice for the nation. Lin Qian then likened Wenda to his second battlefront, urging him to shake off grief and fear, just as he would on a battlefield, to accomplish his brother's unfinished aspirations. Energized by Lin Qian's words, Li Zhicheng returned to Wenda, addressing the shareholders. He reminded them of Wenda's origins and how it had been exploited since Li Zhiqian's accident.

Declaring that reviving Wenda was his soldier's mission, he asked for their faith. The board's vote was a contentious 4-4 tie, with some members questioning his business experience fresh from the army, while others supported him due to his family's legacy. Just as the deadlock intensified, Li Jinyuan burst into the room, announcing her presence as a shareholder and casting her decisive vote for Li Zhicheng.

With a 5-4 majority, Li Zhicheng was officially appointed as Wenda's new CEO, to the applause of the board. He immediately appointed Gu Yanzhi as Wenda's Deputy CEO. Back at Xinbaorui, George arrived to discuss Snowy Smoke silk. He expressed the fabric's potential for modern clothing but highlighted a problem: large-scale production, necessary for expansion, would compromise quality. Ning Weikai insisted on maintaining quality, but George then demanded controlling rights of the Snowy Smoke brand, citing increased investment risks.

Ning Weikai vehemently refused, stating that Chinese craftsmanship must remain Chinese-controlled. George, however, warned that no other company was interested in Snowy Smoke silk, leaving Xinbaorui with limited options. Later, Ning Weikai confronted Grace, frustrated by George's sudden and aggressive demand. Grace suggested that someone might be manipulating the situation, implicitly hinting at Zhu Hanchong. Ning Weikai then went to the underground parking lot and confronted Zhu Hanchong in his car, accusing him of orchestrating George's demands.

Zhu Hanchong shamelessly admitted his involvement, gloating that he wanted to sell Snowy Smoke silk to a foreign buyer. Ning Weikai vowed not to let a foreigner control the traditional craft, reminding Zhu Hanchong that the project belonged to all of Xinbaorui and required a board vote. Zhu Hanchong agreed to a vote but coldly reminded Ning Weikai that he was merely an employee of the Zhu family and should not overstep.

Later, a Xinbaorui board meeting was held, and the voting results were announced: Xinbaorui would sell the intellectual property rights of Snowy Smoke silk to the foreign company, Seville. Ning Weikai was left stunned and disheartened. Zhu Hanjing confronted Zhu Hanchong about his actions, questioning his motives. Zhu Hanchong mockingly claimed he was acting for her benefit, pointing out that everyone knew her feelings for Ning Weikai.

He argued that if Ning Weikai and Grace—one with money and connections, the other with design and management expertise—succeeded with Snowy Smoke silk, they would no longer need Zhu Hanjing's kindness. Zhu Hanjing was left speechless. Later, Zhu Hanchong visited Geng Xinming, proudly announcing that Snowy Smoke silk was being sold to a foreign company. He claimed Ning Weikai had agreed, dismissing Geng Xinming's initial vision of personal development as impractical for large-scale production.

Geng Xinming was enraged, accusing Ning Weikai, who had arrived, of betraying her trust and lamenting how the ancestral craft would fall into foreign hands due to his "mistake." She angrily demanded Ning Weikai to leave, expressing her despair that the situation was beyond her control to Lin Qian. Lin Qian, distraught by the news, called Li Zhicheng, explaining that Snowy Smoke silk was now with Xinbaorui, and Ning Weikai had seemingly agreed to sell it to a foreign buyer.

She urged Li Zhicheng to find a solution to stop Xinbaorui and Zhu Hanchong. Li Zhicheng reassured her, promising to investigate. Simultaneously, Grace urged a despondent Ning Weikai that Snowy Smoke silk absolutely could not fall into Seville's hands. Ning Weikai hesitantly suggested a last resort: involving Li Zhicheng and Wenda. He worried about Li Zhicheng's willingness to help, given their long-standing rivalry. Grace advised him to put aside "man's self-esteem" and openly cooperate.

Ning Weikai then met Li Zhicheng for drinks, starting with light banter about Li Zhicheng's army habits. Ning Weikai quickly got to the point, confessing the mishap with Snowy Smoke silk and the board's decision to sell it to a foreign company. Li Zhicheng pointed out Ning Weikai's responsibility, having taken what Lin Qian loved and then seemingly ruining the project.

Ning Weikai admitted his fault and revealed that Li Zhiqian had also considered developing Snowy Smoke silk five years prior and had signed an agreement with Geng Xinming, which was never formally terminated. He asked Li Zhicheng to find this agreement within Wenda, as it was crucial to saving Snowy Smoke silk. Li Zhicheng agreed, seeing it as a way to repay Ning Weikai for his help in catching Xue Mingtao.

Li Zhicheng returned home and asked his father about the old Snowy Smoke silk contract, but his father, disoriented by illness, couldn't remember. Li Zhicheng later found the agreement among old documents. He called Lin Qian immediately, who was delighted that a solution was possible. Meanwhile, Ning Weikai met Zhu Hanjing for coffee, asking for her help to prevent Snowy Smoke silk from falling into foreign hands.

Zhu Hanjing, suspecting Ning Weikai might be leaving Xinbaorui to start a new company, asked for his reassurance. Ning Weikai affirmed his loyalty to Xinbaorui and the Zhu family. Zhu Hanjing then agreed to help, promising to delay the signing between Zhu Hanchong and Seville for as long as possible.

She called George, claiming there were contract details to sort out and offering to take him and his team on a sightseeing trip around Linhai City for a few days, a plan that infuriated Zhu Hanchong when he learned of it. After Li Zhicheng informed Ning Weikai that he found the agreement, the two met Geng Xinming. Li Zhicheng explained that Geng Xinming's earlier collaboration with Wenda was never officially terminated.

He proposed a bold strategy: for Geng Xinming to "sell" the intellectual property to two companies (Wenda and Xinbaorui), thereby creating a legal dispute. He offered to cover the substantial penalty fee she would incur from Xinbaorui, ensuring the rights would eventually return to her, to be entrusted to someone who truly valued and could develop Snowy Smoke silk. Geng Xinming, initially worried about the penalty, was relieved by Li Zhicheng's offer and trusted his plan.

Soon after, George called Zhu Hanchong, informing him that Seville was withdrawing its acquisition due to the newly discovered copyright conflict, as their company does not invest in projects with such difficulties. George then abruptly ended the call, leaving Zhu Hanchong fuming. Zhu Hanchong immediately confronted Ning Weikai, accusing him of sabotaging the deal.

However, Ning Weikai had already reported the situation to Board Member Zhu, taking responsibility for the initial oversight but framing the resolution as Geng Xinming returning the legal fees and paying the penalty. Board Member Zhu, though warning Ning Weikai to be more careful in the future, accepted the outcome and dismissed the matter. He then reprimanded Zhu Hanchong, telling him that his actions would have shamed the Zhu family had Ning Weikai not intervened.

Zhu Hanchong was left feeling utterly defeated. Later, Gu Yanzhi approached Li Zhicheng, who was exercising at home, with a mortgage contract and price estimate. Gu Yanzhi was incredulous, asking if Li Zhicheng was really mortgaging his house to pay Geng Xinming's penalty and use the remaining funds to invest in Lin Qian's continued development of Snowy Smoke silk, essentially risking his entire fortune.

When Li Zhicheng confirmed his intention, Gu Yanzhi anxiously warned him that developing Snowy Smoke silk was a "bottomless hole" that even Xinbaorui abandoned, urging him to reconsider such a risky investment for his girlfriend. In the end, Geng Xinming expressed her gratitude to Li Zhicheng and Lin Qian for protecting Snowy Smoke silk. She agreed to proceed with Wenda developing Snowy Smoke silk according to their original agreement. Lin Qian confirmed that Snowy Smoke silk had been successfully returned to Teacher Geng.
