Li Zhicheng held down a drug dealer, telling Lin Qian to run. The drug lord leader menacingly rushed towards Lin Qian with a knife. At the critical moment, Li Zhicheng grabbed the knife, injuring his hand. After a struggle, the drug lord leader, realizing he was no match, fled. After the police arrived at Aida Company and secured the area, they identified the drug dealers as remnants from a previous military mission.
They explained that the criminals were searching for a USB drive containing their gang's names and bank account numbers, which also had a tracker. Li Zhicheng asserted that he and his team could handle their own protection. Lin Qian then realized she must have mistakenly picked up the U-disk in Yunnan, believing it held her research materials. Concerned about Li Zhicheng's injured arm, she insisted they go to the hospital.
There, they found Ning Weikai already admitted and in a wheelchair. Lin Qian expressed her concern, and Ning Weikai, though downplaying his injury, commented on Li Zhicheng's impressive fighting skills. Lin Qian thanked Ning Weikai, saying it was lucky he was there. Li Zhicheng also thanked Ning Weikai for what he did, but Ning Weikai retorted, suggesting Li Zhicheng had not protected Lin Qian adequately. Li Zhicheng sharply declared he would take care of "his own people" from then on.
Feeling caught between the two rivals, Lin Qian quickly pulled Li Zhicheng away. At a bar, Chen Zheng was teaching Cheng Meizi how to drink, offering peculiar advice about parenting and alcohol tolerance. Jinyuan, who was also there with Gu Yanzhi, noticed Chen Zheng and sarcastically questioned his intentions, reminding him of his past treatment of Chen Yayi. Cheng Meizi, feeling it was late, wanted to go home.
Chen Zheng offered to take her, but Jinyuan, accusing him of "ill intentions," insisted on taking Cheng Meizi herself. Annoyed, Chen Zheng subtly paid the bar's MC to announce a surprise proposal between Gu Yanzhi and Jinyuan. Under the spotlight, as the crowd cheered for a proposal, Jinyuan was flustered.
Gu Yanzhi, initially trying to play along to avoid awkwardness, then genuinely knelt and proposed, confessing that Jinyuan had "always been in his heart" as a noble, pure, and perfect goddess. Mortified, Jinyuan called him "crazy" and ran out, with Gu Yanzhi pursuing her. Outside, Jinyuan accused him of talking "nonsense" due to being drunk, but Gu Yanzhi insisted he was serious, though she dismissed his earnest words. Li Zhicheng walked Lin Qian home, instructing her to rest.
Lin Qian, concerned for his injuries, reciprocated the advice. Li Zhicheng then sat outside her door and fell asleep. The next morning, Lin Qian discovered him there. With a gentle smile, she urged him to go inside and sleep to avoid catching a cold. Alone, Lin Qian reflected deeply on Li Zhicheng's repeated acts of self-sacrifice, recalling the four times he had saved her and the three times he had been injured for her.
Chen Yayi rushed to the office, relieved to find Lin Qian unharmed. She passionately urged Lin Qian to stop procrastinating, arguing that Li Zhicheng, having saved her four times and been injured thrice, was her "man of destiny." Chen Yayi insisted that Lin Qian "just couldn't leave him anymore" and should immediately renew her contract. Lin Qian, overwhelmed, asked for time to think and to be left alone, to which Chen Yayi reluctantly agreed.
In the President's office, Gu Yanzhi reported to Li Zhicheng that all major banks had denied Aida's loan applications, leaving Grace as their last hope. Meanwhile, Grace learned through her assistant that Don from Fancy had become unresponsive about a scheduled meeting, inferring that a competitor had entered the scene, which she found made the game "more fun." She discovered Don would be attending a forum in Renhe City and immediately flew there.
After getting Don's hotel room number, 2116, from her assistant via phone, she was surprised to find Ning Weikai opening the door. Ning Weikai revealed he had intentionally moved Don to a special Airbnb and had wanted to "run into" Grace. Grace, frustrated, declared she would find Don herself, but Ning Weikai teased her, suggesting she follow him around. Grace attempted to track Don through Ning Weikai but soon realized he had tricked her.
Grace eventually met Ning Weikai at a cafe. He confidently ordered her coffee, knowing her preference for Americano, and admitted to "watching her." Grace challenged him to "compete fairly" and dared him to arrange a meeting with Don for all three of them. Ning Weikai agreed to arrange the meeting for the next day, but on one condition: she had to accompany him for the evening to "tour around Renhe City."
Grace, initially calling him a "pervert," agreed, jokingly stating she would "help out a person with a disability" despite his injured leg. Later, Lin Qian confided in Li Zhicheng that she intended to visit Ning Weikai, feeling responsible for his injury, and to make it clear she would not work for Xinbaorui. Li Zhicheng offered to send "Wasp" to protect her. He then sincerely apologized for his previous handling of the Ankada project.
He explained that his long military service had ingrained a habit of giving orders without explanation, which he mistakenly carried into Aida. He confessed his error in assuming everyone would understand his decisions. Lin Qian, in turn, admitted her own fault in not considering his and the company's perspective, calling herself "too selfish." Li Zhicheng then revealed Aida's new strategy: abandoning the risky Ankada project to build its own brand.
He enthusiastically invited Lin Qian to lead the design, promising Aida's full business support. Overjoyed, Lin Qian accepted, sealing their new partnership with a fist bump. Li Zhicheng then expressed his trust in her and pledged his protection, urging her not to give up on Aida or on him. That evening, Ning Weikai and a very inebriated Grace were drinking together. Grace, complaining that spending time with him was "torture," questioned why he'd do so given their rivalry.
Ning Weikai flirted, telling her she was "charming" and that he found "this she-devil especially mysterious." When he asked who she was thinking about, she vaguely replied, "Not you." As Grace became completely incoherent, Ning Weikai had to help her back to his hotel room. As he leaned in for a kiss, Grace suddenly murmured the name "Li Zhicheng." Ning Weikai, crestfallen, withdrew and left the room.
The next morning, Grace woke up to a call from her assistant, who informed her that Don would be meeting Ning Weikai at the Watertown Tea House. Realizing she was in Ning Weikai's room, Grace was mortified. Seeing her clothes undisturbed, she quietly slipped away while Ning Weikai was still asleep. At the tea house, Grace found Don and, explaining Ning Weikai's absence, tried to discuss a collaboration between Aida Group and Fancy.
However, Don was dismissive, stating he knew why she was there and that it wasn't the right time for Fancy to work with Aida, implying she had "wasted her time." Grace attempted to leverage Aida's backing by the experienced Wenda Group, but Don retorted that Wenda Group "seems to be a sinking ship" and clarified he was seeking a partner, not a "savior." He concluded that Aida lacked funds and a strong design team, making Xinbaorui his "most ideal business partner."
