Lin Qian concludes a video call with her brother, Lin Mochen, who expresses concern about her working late, fearing that Li Zhicheng is overworking her. Lin Qian reassures him, proudly declaring herself the "best employee in China" and asserting her determination to achieve great things. Afterward, Li Zhicheng enters, also suggesting they eat, stating he cannot violate labor laws or risk her brother visiting him.
Lin Qian offers to eat in the office, having only instant noodles, and shares her excitement for the Ankada project, envisioning millions seeing her designs daily. Li Zhicheng supports her, acknowledging it will be a "rough ride but the future is bright." Discovering she gave him her last bowl of noodles, he proposes they share it, playfully deciding who gets to eat through rock, paper, scissors. They laugh and enjoy the meal together.
The next day, Gu Yanzhi presents Li Zhicheng with the Ankada contract, highlighting its extremely strict indemnity clauses and the near-impossible task of producing 40,000 uniforms within a month given Aida's current capacity. He reveals that Ning Weikai has already pre-contracted most available subcontractors, making the project a "grave" for Aida. After careful consideration, Li Zhicheng instructs Gu Yanzhi to swiftly create a feasibility report for a new brand by May 20, insisting nothing is impossible with focus.
He then secretly reveals that Aida will publicly participate in the Ankada bidding but will ultimately withdraw, a plan to be kept strictly confidential, even from Lin Qian. Gu Yanzhi is visibly stunned by this covert strategy. Meanwhile, Ning Weikai meets Chen Zheng, who is also seeking subcontractors. Chen Zheng dismisses Aida's ability to handle the Ankada project, but Ning Weikai reminds him of Grace and H Group's investment in Aida.
He speculates that Grace's involvement is due to her past relationship with Li Zhiqian, recalling her presence during Li Zhiqian's You'a order negotiations and believing she is the inspirational woman Li Zhiqian once described. Chen Zheng playfully teases Ning Weikai about having a "dead romantic rival," but Ning Weikai insists his interest in Grace is purely strategic. Chen Zheng remains unconvinced, asserting that Ning Weikai has already lost this round.
Later, Ning Weikai attends a magazine photoshoot for H Group, where Grace is directing. He attempts to invite her for a photo, but she politely declines, stating it's not part of her duties. He then tries to explain that the previous damage to Aida's sample clothes was his employee's unauthorized action, not directly his fault. Grace accepts his apology for her own "impulsive move" but dismisses further discussion of the past.
He then recalls that Li Zhiqian once described an inspirational woman as being "like a cactus," speculating it was her. Embracing the comparison, Grace warns him to keep his distance, metaphorically stating a thorny cactus will "attack" if approached too closely. The following morning, Lin Qian and Chen Yayi arrive at the office to a surprise: five of Li Zhicheng's security guards salute Lin Qian. Li Zhicheng has assigned them to learn fashion design from her to understand the industry.
The guards, accustomed to military training, are initially reluctant, finding the task "unmanly." Despite their commander's motivational words to face difficulties, their attempts to help Lin Qian organize fabrics are clumsy and chaotic, causing more disarray than assistance, much to Lin Qian's exasperated amusement. Separately, Chen Zheng, rewarding his secretary for the "Goddess in the Cloud" concept, takes her shopping for a luxury purse.
Coincidentally, Li Jinyuan, accompanied by Gu Yanzhi, purchases the last available bag of the style the secretary desired. Chen Zheng confronts Li Jinyuan, demanding to buy the bag at any price. Gu Yanzhi, seizing the opportunity, brazenly negotiates a resale price of 300,000 yuan. Driven by pride, Chen Zheng reluctantly pays the exorbitant sum. Later, Li Jinyuan realizes she left her car keys in the bag and calls Chen Zheng. He, however, insists she come to Simeiqi to retrieve them.
At Simeiqi, Li Jinyuan and Gu Yanzhi attend the "Goddess in the Cloud" auditions, where Chen Zheng is a judge. Chen Zheng harshly criticizes a contestant, Cheng Meizi, for her "hippie" attire and "smoky makeup," even producing a mirror to mock her appearance. Outraged, Li Jinyuan storms the stage, grabs a microphone, and publicly chastises Chen Zheng, calling him "lame" and devoid of aesthetic sense, before smashing the mirror.
Undeterred, Chen Zheng instructs his staff to immediately upload the video of the confrontation online, hoping to capitalize on the viral potential. During dinner, Grace confronts Li Zhicheng, expressing concern about Ning Weikai and Chen Zheng's aggressive strategies, which leave Aida in a vulnerable position. She challenges him to be honest about his true intentions for the Ankada project.
Li Zhicheng then admits that Aida will withdraw from the Ankada bid, revealing his true goal is to use it as a cover to launch Aida's own independent brand. Grace is furious, accusing him of using her and the H Group as a "chess piece" to delay rivals and then deceiving his partners. She reminds him that H Group's investment makes Aida a shared venture, and his lack of trust undermines their partnership.
Threatening to reconsider their collaboration, she angrily leaves. Li Zhicheng attempts to apologize, explaining he feared a leak and believed she, like his late brother Li Zhiqian, would understand his vision for an independent brand, having encouraged Li Zhiqian in the past. Unbeknownst to them, Gao Lang, one of Ning Weikai's men, observes their heated argument with a satisfied smirk. Later, Gu Yanzhi and Li Jinyuan share a meal, gleefully recounting their successful "scam" against Chen Zheng.
Li Jinyuan playfully smears ketchup on Gu Yanzhi's forehead. Meanwhile, Cheng Meizi receives a message from a friend, alerting her that she has gone "trending" online. She watches the video of her audition and Chen Zheng's humiliating criticism. Her father, Cheng Feng, also sees the video and confronts her in a rage. He scolds her for being publicly shamed, but Cheng Meizi defiantly declares her dream to be a model, asserting that such minor setbacks mean nothing to her. Cheng Feng, however, adamantly forbids her from pursuing modeling, stating this will be the last time she defies him.
