After their unexpected kiss, Lin Qian quickly apologized, then fled the scene. Li Zhicheng, though initially claiming he was at fault for not catching her, couldn't help but smile to himself as she left. The next morning, Lin Qian was still preoccupied by the previous night's events. Her colleague, Chen Yayi, noticed her preoccupied state and playfully questioned if something good had happened. Lin Qian, embarrassed, insisted she was merely thinking about work.
Chen Yayi excitedly told Lin Qian that their record-breaking rescue suit design was all over the news, making them a hot topic. Lin Qian, thrilled, thanked her parents and Chen Yayi, but also urged for a low-key approach. She noted the significant difference compared to their online shop days, now working on a "big project." Despite Chen Yayi's assertion that the Mingsheng project was a "done deal," Lin Qian expressed continued worry until the bidding results were officially released.
Just then, Li Zhicheng walked into the office. Lin Qian, feeling awkward, quickly grabbed her water cup and left. Later, in her office, Lin Qian smiled to herself as she replayed the memory of the kiss. Chen Yayi, joining her, teased about the "awkwardness" between her and Li Zhicheng, noting his "gentle and warm eyes" when he looked at Lin Qian.
Lin Qian vehemently denied any special connection, maintaining they had a "normal collaborator relationship" – partners at work and good neighbors in life. Chen Yayi, unconvinced, pressed for details about this "second phase" of their relationship, but Lin Qian firmly insisted, "There's nothing!" Just as Chen Yayi continued her playful interrogation, Li Zhicheng suddenly appeared, causing Chen Yayi to stammer an apology for her "nonsense" and quickly exit.
Li Zhicheng then directly asked Lin Qian why she had been avoiding him. Lin Qian, denying it, explained her early mornings were due to the project's smooth development making her feel great. Li Zhicheng playfully dangled an invitation to H Group's New Generation Designer Salon, a "golden ticket" for young designers. Lin Qian was immediately ecstatic, confirming her invitation with a bright smile.
Meanwhile, Gu Yanzhi walked into Li Zhicheng's office with good news: Aida had successfully secured the Mingsheng Group order. He elaborated that while the advance payment would help, Aida still needed a significant sum for the initial phase, suggesting a bank loan under the "One Belt One Road Initiative" projects. Gu Yanzhi also pointed out that Lin Qian's contribution was largely responsible for securing the Mingsheng project.
He reminded Li Zhicheng that her current contract was only for the initial design phase. Li Zhicheng confidently declared that he would ensure she stayed with Aida. Lin Qian was in her office, sketching designs, when she received a call from Ning Weikai inviting her for coffee. Remembering Li Zhicheng's suspicion that Xinbaorui, particularly Ning Weikai, might have been behind the sabotage of Aida's samples, she initially hesitated. However, after Ning Weikai's persistent invitations, she agreed to meet.
Ning Weikai noticed her subdued mood. Lin Qian, after a moment, directly questioned him about Xinbaorui's possible involvement in ruining Aida's samples. Ning Weikai skillfully denied it, suggesting such a "despicable act" was likely from a smaller, unknown competitor, and assured her he would never hurt her. A somewhat trusting Lin Qian accepted his explanation. Ning Weikai then smoothly transitioned, noting her Mingsheng project was nearing completion and her contract with Aida might expire soon.
He reiterated his desire for her to join Xinbaorui. Lin Qian, however, stated her contract still had time before expiring and she would inform him when it did. Ning Weikai said he would wait for her. Later, at the H Group fashion salon, Li Zhicheng encountered Ning Weikai and Chen Zheng by the elevator. Li Zhicheng directly accused Ning Weikai of sending someone to infiltrate Aida's design studio. Ning Weikai dismissed it as a baseless accusation, asking for evidence.
Chen Zheng stepped in, but Li Zhicheng ignored him, instead patting Chen Zheng's shoulder and advising him to "stay away from your brother Kai." After Li Zhicheng left, Chen Zheng complained to Ning Weikai about being led into Li Zhicheng's trap regarding the Japanese fabric deal. Ning Weikai calmly deflected blame, claiming he learned of the trap too late, and reminded Chen Zheng that their mutual enemy was Aida's Li Zhicheng, urging them to unite.
As Lin Qian prepared her designs at the salon, Chen Zheng approached her. He smugly warned her that Aida wouldn't always be in the spotlight, and if the company were to "bankrupt sooner or later," Simeiqi would "consider taking you." Lin Qian politely but firmly declined his offer, stating she had no "money problems." Meanwhile, Grace introduced Li Zhicheng to President Cheng Feng of Ankada Airlines.
Pulling Li Zhicheng aside, Grace revealed that Ankada needed a new series of flight attendant uniforms, a massive order worth 200 million yuan for 40,000 sets. She encouraged Li Zhicheng to make a strong impression, as Cheng Feng had already shown interest in Aida. On stage, Grace announced a new charity segment for the "China-Doll" Angel Fund, with all proceeds going to children with a rare bone disorder.
She then introduced President Cheng Feng, who dramatically announced Ankada's plans to entirely upgrade their flight attendants' uniforms. He declared the substantial project would be designed and manufactured in China, inviting all design companies to enthusiastically join the bidding competition. A stir rippled through the audience, with Ning Weikai and Chen Zheng showing clear determination to win this lucrative deal. The fashion salon's design competition commenced, featuring models showcasing the creations of various designers.
During the intermission, as voting took place, Chen Zheng and Ning Weikai both made their way to President Cheng, eagerly seeking to establish a connection and express their interest in the Ankada project. Cheng Feng, gracious but noncommittal, instructed his assistant to take their contact information. The voting results were soon revealed, with Lin Qian's design from Aida and Zhang Siyao's design from Simeiqi receiving the highest votes. Both winning pieces proceeded to an auction.
Cheng Feng praised Zhang Siyao's design for its "European high-end brands' feeling" and elegance. He then bid 400,000 yuan for Zhang Siyao's dress, setting a new record. Next, Lin Qian's design went up for auction. The bidding quickly escalated, with Ms. Xiaona ultimately winning Lin Qian's dress for an unprecedented 600,000 yuan, securing Lin Qian the "laurel designer" title and a new highest bid record for the event. Backstage, Cheng Feng met the two winning designers.
Lin Qian offered her business card to Ms. Xiaona, who expressed a desire for custom clothes. Cheng Feng then acknowledged Li Zhicheng's interest in Ankada's uniform project but directly told Lin Qian that he didn't believe she had the capacity for such a design. He critiqued her dress as "too teenage girl-like" and lacking the maturity of other designers.
Lin Qian, unfazed, respectfully countered, arguing that Chinese designers possessed the ability to blend Eastern and Western styles, and that judging solely by Western standards was a cultural misunderstanding. Cheng Feng, amused by her spirited debate, noted her arguments were more powerful than her design. Li Zhicheng then arrived, praising their "good chat" and offering to invite Cheng Feng to visit Aida.
After the salon, Chen Zheng cornered Ning Weikai, eager to collaborate on the Ankada uniform project, suggesting they "take the deal from Li Zhicheng's hands." Ning Weikai, with a dismissive tone, told Chen Zheng that Aida, having just won the Mingsheng project, lacked the resources to effectively compete for Ankada. He asserted that for Xinbaorui, the Ankada project was "just a side dish," and Simeiqi was not worthy of his cooperation, leaving Chen Zheng visibly infuriated.
Later, Li Zhicheng praised Lin Qian's performance at the salon, but Lin Qian admitted she was still bothered by President Cheng's comments, particularly his view that domestic designers lacked maturity and open-mindedness. Li Zhicheng reassured her that Cheng Feng was merely a businessman whose opinions weren't crucial. However, Lin Qian acknowledged some truth in Cheng Feng's critique, stating she needed to "work harder" and "prove myself."
Li Zhicheng seized the opportunity, revealing Ankada would soon open bids for their new uniforms and asking if she was willing to take on the challenge. He promised a 20% raise and a long-term contract. Lin Qian enthusiastically agreed to undertake the design, even without the raise, committed to proving herself. Li Zhicheng proposed a five-year contract. Lin Qian found "5 years" to be a long time.
Li Zhicheng playfully responded that "a lifetime is a long time," asking if she was selling herself. Lin Qian playfully declined, to which Li Zhicheng responded, "Don't let me wait too long." Meanwhile, Chen Zheng returned home and confidently told his father that Simeiqi was determined to win the Ankada project. His father, however, advised him to learn from his failures and competitors, praising Li Zhicheng for his "good taste and ambition" and his fairness.
This comparison visibly annoyed Chen Zheng, though he admitted underestimating Li Zhicheng in the past, he vowed there wouldn't be a "second time." At Aida, Li Zhicheng had noticed Gu Yanzhi acting mysteriously and being frequently absent. He then received an official "Transfer Order" from Wenda headquarters for Gu Yanzhi, prompting him to call Gu Yanzhi into his office for a discussion. Li Zhicheng asked Gu Yanzhi when he had requested a transfer back to headquarters.
