Li Wei planned to expand the Meishihui Restaurant across all nine regions, which meant hiring new chefs. After days of searching, she still hadn’t found the right person. Coincidentally, the Ninth Prince knew an excellent chef—Xiao Yang. Xiao Yang demonstrated his cooking skills, impressing everyone. Both Li Wei and Xiao Yang were from Jichuan and shared an interest in mushrooms and similar ingredients. Li Wei invited Xiao Yang to visit her kitchen and introduced him to her home-grown vegetables.

Yin Zheng and Su Shen were walking through the courtyard when they saw Li Wei and a man approaching. Li Wei was introducing Xiao Yang to her garden and even offered to let him pick some vegetables to take back for the Ninth Prince. Xiao Yang was surprised that vegetables could grow in the courtyard and praised Li Wei’s excellent choices. The two chatted happily, but Yin Zheng couldn't stand it any longer and rushed over to interrupt.

Li Wei introduced Xiao Yang and praised his delicious cooking. Jealous, Yin Zheng tried to join the conversation but embarrassed himself by mistaking chili peppers for goji berries. Not only was Xiao Yang a great chef, but he was also quite handsome. Upon arriving at the restaurant, he attracted many female patrons. Li Wei and Haitang sat nearby observing and couldn't stop admiring him.

Upstairs, Yin Zheng and Yin An watched with growing anxiety, afraid Xiao Yang would steal their wives. Though still early, Yin Zheng waited outside the restaurant to take Li Wei home. To his surprise, she invited Xiao Yang to come along. Li Wei wanted to learn cooking from Xiao Yang, but upon arriving home, she found the kitchen utensils missing. Xiao Yang somehow brought gifts and delighted everyone, giving Li Wei a chance to continue her lessons.

As night fell, everyone presented their dishes to Yin Zheng for tasting. But Yin Zheng had no appetite and left for the study under everyone’s puzzled gazes. The Fourth Prince invited Yin An to discuss state affairs. Though usually quiet, the Fourth Prince proved highly capable, accomplishing things Yin An couldn’t. Pretending to be friendly, Yin An quickly reported everything to Yin Zheng.

While talking, Yin An suddenly felt hungry and realized Li Wei had gone to the restaurant to learn cooking from Xiao Yang. Alarmed, he dragged Yin Zheng along to check. Meanwhile, Shangguan Jing got up early and found Yin Qi busy by the fire. She took the corn he offered, but it was already burnt. Losing her appetite, she set it down and began packing. Yin Qi quickly tried to stop her and offered to pack instead.

But no matter how hard he tried, he kept messing things up. Shangguan Jing sighed and told him to go back. Disheartened, Yin Qi forced a smile and said he had memorized the map of the Nine Regions—wherever she wanted to go, he could guide her. With that, they set off on horseback, following Yin Qi’s direction, but eventually reached a dead end. Along the way, Yin Qi continued to mess up, driving Shangguan Jing to near fury.

Seemingly realizing the truth, Yin Qi offered to leave and let her travel alone. Zhao Fangru planned to return to Daichuan to manage the mining business. Before leaving, she went to say goodbye to Hao Jia. Though she had several older brothers, Zhao Fangru’s skill and strategy would soon help her reclaim the mines.
